Maybe Izuku’s first kiss? And how adorablely awkward he is after.
— ˗ˋ ୨ our first... ୧ ˊ˗ —
˗ˋ Kiss! ˊ˗
Tumblr media
You guys were at a school dance n went together as friends since some of your schoolmates/classmates had dates. You weren't alone together necessarily as you had a whole group of people w no dates, but you and izuku personally wanted to go together yk as "friends". You end up feeling down watching everyone make cute n cool memories together and it js dawns on you that you aren't out there making those memories. You're standing on the sidelines watching people have fun. You leave out of the gym and js go sit by some lockers, it hurt your heart so much that you hadn't managed to find someone to go with. You looked pretty, you smelled nice, you even tried your hardest to stand out to others yk be social. But it didn't work. No date, you were stuck with your friends. Izuku being izuku he ran after you, he wanted to assure you were alright.
“ y/n..? y/n! are you... okay? you ran out before I could as you.”
“ I'm fine.. just thinking I'm wasting my time, I mean look at us izuku. we're sitting here instead of dancing, d’yknow how lame that is?!”
Izuku snickered under his breath, making you shoot a glance to him. He cleared his throat trying to contain his giggles and took a deep breath. He was nervous for what was going to come next but he didn't want you to feel bad anymore, he just hoped you'd hear him out.
“ well.. if that's all you're worried about, why don't you just come dance with.. me?”
The look you gave him absolutely terrified him, he was afraid you'd say no so being the guy he is he was quick to try and excuse himself.
“ w- well it's just that, y'know I don't want you to be lonely! it can just go as friends, y'know we don't have to do anything you're uncomfortable with, I completely understand if ive overstep bounderies, I'll see myself ou-”
“ no no wait! I actually wouldn't mind that.”
“ really!? ahem- I mean err.. really?”
You giggled at how excited he sounded, grabbing him by the hand and pulling him up. He had a wide smile on his face as you pulled him back into the gym. The two of you danced together, stepping on each other's feet occasionally bumping into people, and even almost falling over, but no matter how embarrassing that all was or how bad you two were at dancing, you were having fun and that's all that mattered to you. You were making silly memories with one of your dearest friends.
You hadn't realized it but this meant so much to izuku, poor guy had been crushing on you for so long he couldn't even believe that he asked you to dance. It's like he was possessed by some spirit who just craved you deeply. The songs started to get slower which meant it was time for slow dances, with a quick smile you laid your head on his shoulder lightly swaying your hips as you moved closer to him. Izuku swore he could smell all of you, your shampoo your perfume even your lotion! It was so terrifying yet so sweet. He couldn't believe he got to have you this close.
He looked down at you, a smile still present on your face as you slightly giggled. This was so much fun, neither of you wanted it to end but before you knew it, the song was over, the DJ was saying something that neither of you bothered to listen to. You looked up at him pulling away slightly, he nervously chuckled trying hard not to embarrass himself.
You hadn't even realized that this entire time you two had been staring at each other, just looking longingly into each other's eyes. Izuku was literally shaking, he was sweating in his blazer, he couldn't believe you were this close. His hands were shaking on your hips as he brought one of his calloused and rough hands up to your cheek gently caressing it. It shocked you but you welcomed it, slowly moving closer to each other.
Your eyes trailed down to his lips and he instantly knew you wanted to kiss him. He had actually learned how to do all of this from searching it up, he has no game at all so he resorted to the internet, who knew it could actually provide. Your nose bumped against izukus making him jolt and a small noise leave him, his breath was shaky and stuttering and you could smell the mint lingering on it. He was scared but he wanted this to be enjoyable, with a deep breath he placed both of his hands on either side of your face and pulled you into a gentle kiss.
His lips were slightly chapped and kind of rough, unsurprisingly. Izuku is the kind of guy to pick at his lips or bite them when he's thinking in class, you noticed that. Despite it all though, it was a nice kiss. He was gentle and it seemed like he knew what he was doing, his lips were slowly moving against yours a deep fire igniting between you two. He gained some random type of boldness and pulled you into him, your chests together as your lips moved in a cute synchronization.
The kiss lasted for quite some time, you both losing your breath and trying hard to breathe in through your need to not let the kiss end, alas all good things must come to an end. You pull away to catch your breath, breathing heavily trying not to cough from the sudden invasion of air. Izuku mindlessly tried to follow your lips, desperate to feel you close again. He whined lowly, not going unheard to you of course, making you giggle. He leaned his forehead against yours and caught his breath as well, he couldn't believe this actually happened.
You two just sat there for a moment, in each other's arms in silence besides the music and other kids chatting in the background. It was comfortable despite you two being in a huge public space. It's like the entire world drowned out, well, emphasis on "it's like". You heard girls squeal so loudly making you both jump and shoot your heads over to the direction, along with other people staring at the girls.
Mina had squealed so loudly that people were practically staring daggers into her and your other girl friends. She was pointing at the two of you and jumping up and down making others look at you, this is the type of attention you didn't know if you wanted. Izuku slowly turned his head back to you with a nervous smile.
“ hehe... hi..”
“ hello, izuku.”
The once beautiful moment you two had was now incredibly awkward. You both cleared your throats and came up with some lame excuse to leave each other. You were so embarrassed you buried your face in jirou's neck you couldn't believe that just happened, mins was so quick to shut your self loathing down, making you look at the same green haired boy you'd just kissed. He was so nervous n awkward, all the guys playfully teasing and punching him.
He was a red mess, he literally looked like a strawberry. Poor thing was being eaten alive, his eyes ended up trailing to your group he tried to give you a polite smile and wave before bakugou walked up n whispered something in his ear making him get even more red, as if that were even possible. You couldnt help but giggle at the adorable mess you wanted to call yours.
Tumblr media
Bonus!!!!
A couple of weeks later you two were so awkward around each other, not even bringing up the kiss you shared. It literally took denki yelling “ask her out!” for him to confess to you. It was because he was on the spot, you're both sure he probably wouldn't have asked you out if he hadn't been.
But it's okay, because the kisses and cuddles that came from being his girlfriend meant everything to you<3

AN: he's such a cutie y'all, him being embarrassingly n awkwardly bold is my favorite

Stewy Hosseini x female reader
Tumblr media
A classic tale of fucking your ex at your friends wedding. We’ve all been there, I think.
Word Count: 3.9k
Warnings: 18+ pls, minors will be blocked! Not proofread which is defo a warning, lmk if you spot anything ive missed. Smut. Oral f!recieving and protected pinv. Alcohol and drugs are mentioned slightly.
Little authors note sorry: Hey everyone i am actually alive lol. 5 months later i return writing for someone new… not out of character for me. I watched succession for the first time recently (late asf to the party i know) and i read some amazing stewy fics so i thought i’d add my piece because i’m obsessed with him. Sorry to all my tommy miller babes on here, i swear i tried writing for him again but my inspiration for tommy fics seems to have gotten lost. I really struggled when i tried finishing my half way done tommy series lol. But when i started writing this one it just floooowed and i finished it in like a few hours. Maybe my tommy love will come back someday but for now…. This. Hope someone out there enjoys lol <3
You’ve felt eyes on you all night. Everywhere you go you end up meeting his eyes across the room. Eveytime you look over at him, he’s already looking. He should be the one that's embarrassed, you’ve caught him looking at you multiple times, but you’re always the one who ends up looking away first and feeling your skin heat with the embarrassment of being caught. While he shamelessly stares at you over the rim of his glass, that awful fucking smirk gracing his lips and he watches you squirm. Honestly, it’s kinda creepy. And you almost hope he approaches you so you can tell him that.
Towards the end of the night he starts to close in, starts inching closer to you. He starts making conversation with the people around you, people at the bar next to you, and eventually your friends. Asking them how they are, how it’s been such a long time. Then, he finally gets to you. He takes his time looking you over before he speaks and you’re determined not to be the first one to talk, so you let him stare. Both of you standing in silence for a few seconds before he finally speaks.
“You look great.”
”Thanks.” Keeping it simple seems safe. You want to tell him he looks good too because fuck, he does. He always does. He notices your eyes drifting over his suit and tie and he chuckles.
“What are you doing?” You ask.
“Uhm,” He trails off - pretends to think. “I’m at a fucking wedding, and i’m enjoying myself.”
”Yeah?” You ask, he nods in agreement. The way his eyebrows raise tells you he’s still being sarcastic, still mocking you. “Watching my every move all night is how you enjoy yourself?”
“Actually, yes.” He confirms. “Watching you squirm all night was pretty fun.”
”I wasn’t.” You attempt to defend yourself, downing your drink. “I was just-“
“I’ll get you another.” He cuts you off, snatching your glass out of your hand - not even bothering to ask. You almost try to protest, but you don’t see the point. You know him too well, you know how stubborn he is, once he gets an idea it’s hard for him to let it go. If the idea he’s got tonight is paying for your drinks, then so be it - who were you to complain. You sit down on the stool next to you, watching as Stewy makes the bartender laugh as he orders your drinks. You're kind of pissed that you still can’t figure him out sometimes, you know him better than most people - maybe better than anyone, but he still confuses you. It has been a while since you last saw him, but you conclude that he hasn’t changed much.
When he comes back with your drinks he puts yours down in front of you and asks: “Still your favorite?”
You nod, kind of pissed that he got it right. You try to convince yourself that he didn’t actually remember that small detail. That he’s just been watching you order them all night during your staring competition.
“So, how’s your family?” You ask, cringing at how lame you sound. You just don’t want to let him start a conversation you don’t want to have.
He smiles, because he knows what you're doing. “They’re fine. I still don’t see them much, but they’re good.”
”You’re still too busy to see your family?” You joke.
“Mhm,” His smile almost looks genuine as you joke with each other. “I’m always busy.”
“Busy stealing people's money?”
He laughs then, a genuine laugh that makes you laugh as well. God, you don’t want to admit that you missed him. But everyone else just seems so boring after him, you’ve never found the same thing you’d had with him with anyone else.
“You never really understood business did you?” He laughs.
“I understand perfectly.”
“Sure,” He agrees. “I explained it to you enough times.”
“Yeah, and bored me to death.”
”Is that why you broke up with me?”
His question completely catches you off guard and you almost choke on your drink. You almost want to ask him if he purposefully said that while you were taking a sip, but you’re too busy trying to supress your coughing.
“Jesus, it was just a question.” Stewy laughs at you again, his warm hand coming to rest on your back as he watches you almost choke.
“Fuck you.” You say pointedly, after getting yourself back under control. ”You know why we broke up. Also, I broke up with you?”
”You did.”
“Stewy, it was amicable.”
“Was it?” His face goes serious again and you instantly miss the sound of his laugh. You just sigh, taking another sip of your drink. This was exactly the conversation you didn’t want to have.
“I thought you said you were enjoying yourself,” You say after a few moments of silence. “Don’t ruin it now.”
”I lied.” He says. “I always hated those two, I can't believe they actually got married.”
”Match made in hell.” You agree, both of you laugh softly again.
“You know I also lied earlier when I said you looked great.” He says, surprising you. You brace yourself for whatever joke he’s going to make about you, you shouldn't have pissed him off, he can get mean when he’s pissed off. It’s not his fault, it’s just his defense mechanism - but nevertheless you brace yourself for his comment - and he surprises you again by saying: “You look fucking incredible.”
You open your mouth to speak, but no words come out. You opt for another sip of your drink instead and he watches you in amusement.
“I only came because I hoped you would be here,” He continued. You still can’t tell if he’s being serious or not, that damned smirk on his face makes you think he’s making fun of you, but those big brown eyes look so sincere.
“Stewy, stop.” You sigh.
“Come on, baby.” He murmurs, he leans forward in his chair and places his hand on your knee. The nickname makes you tense up. Makes a familiar heat spread through you. “Let me get you another drink and take you up to my room.”
Fuck. He’s fucking good at this, and he knows it. He knows exactly how to get you. You’re trying to think, but the alcohol and the way his thumb is rubbing your knee is clouding your mind. He waits patiently, watching as you look down at his hand and back up to his face. Your eyes stop at his lips before meeting his gaze.
“Alright,” You say, you swear you can actually see his eyes light up. “Go get me another drink and show me your room. Then I'll decide.”
“You got it.” He grins and practically jumps out of his seat. When he returns he holds out his hand to help you off your stool, the heels you decided to wear and the drinks weren’t a good match. He hands you your drink, although you don’t really want it now. His hand finds its place on the small of your back and a fire lights up somewhere inside of you. His touch feels so familiar - comforting. He leads you out of the bar and to the elevators. Punching in the right number before the doors close, leaving you both alone in the small space. It suddenly feels too quiet.
You want to touch him, but once again you don’t want to be the one to make the first move. You don't want him to know how desperate you are for him, although you think he already knows. He’s watching you in silence, his eyes dark and wanting. A look you’ve seen a million times before - a look that makes you excited. The elevator ride is short, Stewy isn’t the type to kiss you in an elevator, and you know that, so you’re not disappointed when the doors open and he hasn’t touched you or said a word.
He gestures for you to leave first, putting his hand on the door so they don’t close on you, or him. Some people would find this strange, the silence, but it’s a game you’ve both played with each other before. A game you both enjoy. He guides you to his room with a hand on your back, just like before. When he unlocks the door and opens it for you, you suppress a gasp. As usual, Stewy needs to have the best of the best. The bride and groom's room probably isn’t even this nice. They probably couldn’t afford it - Stewy can.
“Well?” His voice sounds from behind you.
“Hm?”
”What do you think? You said you would decide when you saw the room. Is it good enough for you?”
”Uhm,” You pretend to think as you set your drink down on the dresser, turning around to dramatically inspect the room. It earns a playful eye roll from Stewy. He knows what impresses you and he knows he already has you. He already had you down at the bar.
“I think it’s okay.” You conclude, turning to face him. He hums in sarcastic agreement, looking you up and down. He’s playing the game again, who is going to end it first. Who is going to lose. You don’t like losing, and neither does he. But honestly, haven’t you already lost? He has you in his room for christ sake. He has you standing in front of him, already dripping and all he’s done is touch your leg a little and look at you the right way. So you put aside your pride and step towards him, you bring your hands up to his cheeks and roughly bring his face down to your, finally connecting your lips.
His hands immediately find their home at your hips, pulling you tightly against him. The kiss immediately turns from an innocent kiss to a hungry and passionate one, his tongue dominating your mouth. You both know each other's bodies so well, there's no need for taking it slow or asking questions.
“Fuck, Stewy.” You sigh as he backs you towards the bed, gently setting you down and climbing over you. Kissing every inch of your skin.
“God, I missed that.” He groans, marveling over the way you sigh his name. “I missed you, baby. I can admit it. I want you so badly.”
You moan softly at his words, at the way his lips feel on your neck - at how right this feels. You had missed him too. He catches you off guard when he pulls away to ask, ”Have you been fucking other people?”
“Sorry?” You giggle, “Why are you asking me that now?”
”Have you?” He presses.
“I ju- maybe.” You stutter, already missing his lips.
”Maybe?”
”I know you’ve been fucking as well.” You accuse, suddenly defensive. You push yourself up onto your elbows, despite still being trapped underneath him.
“Yeah, I have.” He says coolly.
“So?” You ask, irritated. Why was he doing this?
“So, none of them were as good as you.” His words earn an eye roll from you. “Nothing can compare to this pussy.” He adds, his hand sliding down to roughly grip your thigh and bring it over his waist. Oh, shit. His half hard cock is pressing perfectly against your pussy in this new position, the material of your dress and his suit pants keeping you apart. “And, i bet none of those guys fucked you the way i do.” One of his hands comes up to grip your chin, his other keeping him above you. He forces you to look him in the eyes as he asks, “Did they?”
“No.” You practically squeak. “None of them were like you. No one is like you, Stewy.”
You’re not even lying, after having sex with Stewy for so long nothing compared. You had gotten accustomed to a man who knew what he was doing, to a man who was generous in bed. You had gotten used to a man who could make you cum. No one had achieved that after him. Your answer obviously pleases him, he grins and leans down to kiss you again.
He ends the kiss and stands up leaving you spread out on the bed, you whine underneath him, chasing for more. He ignores you and slips off his suit jacket. He makes a show of undoing the top button of his shirt and loosening his sleeves in order to push them up to his elbows. Fuck, he looks so good. You almost want to tell him, but you don;t need to. He can see the way you're watching him, that look in your eye. He knows what you look like when you’re turned on - and this is it. He grabs your thighs and pushes your dress up to your waist, getting a good look before sliding your panties down your legs, throwing them over his shoulder somewhere.
“I’m gonna fuck you like you deserve, baby. I know what you need. I can’t wait to taste you.” He rambles as you whimper in anticipation, he presses a kiss to your ankle as he watches you buck your hips.
He has his mouth on you before you can respond. Just as you remember, he is painfully and infuriatingly good at it. He still eats pussy like it's his second nature. He still looks up at you through his gorgeous lashes as he traces your clit with his tongue. He has to hold back from grinning against you as you writhe and whimper. He groans as you sigh his name and run your hand through his hair. You remember how much you love it when he’s like this, when he's animalistic and loses his composure.
Your legs tighten around his head as he digs his fingers into the flesh of your thighs. It’s fucking embarassing how quickly you barrel towards your climax, but it has been a while. And no one else devours you like this, no one else is this good. You should have expected it. He recognizes it immediately, breaking away from you for a second to speak.
“Are you gonna come for me, baby?”
“Yes! Please, Stew.” You moan, your hands grabbing at his hair attempting to push him back down. He smiles wickedly, licking his lips as he watches you.
“God, I love it when you beg for me.” He mumbles before diving back in, allowing you to push his head down and maneuver him.
"Please make me come," you groan, arching your back. “I'm so close, don’t stop.”
And he doesn’t stop, he continues to lap at you and work you though your orgasm as you come against his mouth. His beard delightfully scratches your sensitive skin, leaving behind a delicious burning feeling. He’s painfully hard now, after watching you come and hearing you moan his name. You begin to push at his head when you come down, usually he would tease you a little now, knowing how sensitive you are and make the most of it. But he’s so fucking desprate for you, he has been all night. He’s been dreaming about being inside of you for hours now.
He’s instantly on his feet, undoing his belt and undressing. You follow suit, weakly sitting up - doing the best your legs can do when they feel like jelly, you lift your dress over your head and throw it on the floor with his clothes. He’s climbing back on top of you, kissing you hungrily. His lips and chin are still wet with your juices and you moan into his mouth as you taste yourself on his lips.
“How do you want me?” You ask breathlessly, fully prepared to submit to him- to do whatever he asks.
“Fuck,” He groans at your words, having to pause for a second. “Can you turn over for me?”
You smile, leaning up to kiss him one more time before turning over and crawling to the middle of the bed, pushing yourself up onto your knees and holding yourself up on your elbows, so your back is deliciously arched the way you know he likes. You grin as you hear him groan behind you, his hand petting your ass before he delivers a light slap to it. He steps away from you and you hear the rustling of a condom wrapper, did he have that in his fucking pocket? His words from earlier repeat in your head, ‘I only came because I hoped you would be here.’
“Plese fuck me, Stewy.” You moan softly, knowing exactly what he wants to hear. “I need you.”
”How bad?” He teases. The head of his cock is ever so slightly pressing against your entrance, he’s hardly holding back as he waits for your answer, pushing in slightly.
“So bad,” You sigh, pushing back on him so he slips easily inside of you. You both moan loudly, you love that he’s so loud and shameless in bed. He stays still once he’s bottomed out.
“Yeah?” He says through gritted teeth.
“Yes! Please move. I need to be fucked properly, only you can do it.”
The sound he makes behind you is heavenly, you knew that would work. He pulls out of you before pushing back in slowly. He always does this, he starts slow and then builds up to a bruising pace. All you can do is whimper beneath him and beg for him to fuck you faster. Your pussy sucks him in greedily, his cock pushing against that spongy spot inside of you with every thrust.
“You take me so fucking well. Like you were fucking made for me.” His voice is deep and raw.
”I think I am,” You moan. “You feel so fucking good!”
“Are you gonna come for me again, sweetheart? Gonna soak my cock?”
All you can do is furiously nod your head and moan beneath him, the sounds of your pussy squelching as he fucks you is almost embarassing. You don’t have time to think about it because he’s pulling out of you and gently flipping you over onto your back. He lifts your legs and rests his knees on the bed, throwing your feet over his shoulders and he leans over you. He guides his cock back into you and dives down to kiss you, his tongue pushing past your lips in a messy kiss. You’re both moaning into each other's mouths, not minding when your teeth momentarily clack together.
“Come on gorgeous,” He groans, he’s breathless - pressing kisses to your face between his words. You can tell he’s close too. “Come for me. Squeeze my cock. Let me fucking have it.”
He feels you tighten around him as you come, his name leaving your lips like a fucking prayer. Your hands tightening around his neck, nails digging into his skin.
“Fuck, that’s it. You look so beautiful, baby.” He talks you through it, still fucking you as you come around him.
“Oh my god,” You moan. “Come inside of me, Stewy.”
You know he’s wearing a condom, but the dirty talk is hot. He thinks so too, because that's all it takes for him to come. His head is buried in your neck, his teeth biting into the soft skin under your ear. No doubt leaving a mark, but you’ll worry about that tomorrow. Right now all you can think about is how hot he sounds when he comes, you love that he isn’t quiet, that he isn’t afraid to groan your name into your neck.
He stays still for a second, lifting his head and kissing you - gently this time, before he pulls out. You rest for a minute while he discards the condom. You hear rustling and sniffing while he’s in the bathroom and you almost want to yell out to him - this is why we broke up. But you ignore it, getting up from the bed and breezing past him as he leaves the bathroom. You close the door behind you, taking the hotel robe off the back of the door and cleaning yourself up, doing what you need to do. You wonder if you should shower, but decide you should probably go back to your own room to do that.
When you leave the bathroom he’s sitting in the bed under the covers, the tv remote in his hand. Your dress and underwear have been picked up and folded on the chair beside the bed. It makes you smile, how can someone be so thoughtful but so selfish at the same time. That’s why you broke up, you need to keep reminding yourself.
“So, I guess I'm gonna go back to my own room.” You say as you gather your things. You’re on your way back to the bathroom with your clothes when he speaks up.
“Okay,” He says, respecting your decision. “Why?”
”Why?” You repeat, stopping your tracks. “Don’t you want me to go?”
”No. I want you to watch tv with me.”
”Seriously?” You laugh before you realize he’s being serious.
“Yeah, seriously.” His face is impassive, and hard to read. But you can’t resist those big brown eyes and you drop your clothes back onto the floor and slip into bed with him.
“Hey,” He whines as he looks at your dress. “I picked that up and folded it for you and you just threw it on the floor again.”
“Sorry, how rude of me.” You laugh at the mock pout on his face. You’ve sat pretty far away from him and he eyes the space between you.
“Come here.” He says lifting up his arm so you can cuddle into his side. God, you shouldn’t be doing this, you should have left. But he smells good and this bed is so comfortable.
“Will you stay the night here?” He asks quietly
”I shouldn’t.” You sigh.
“I know.” He agrees.
Of course you end up staying the night, Stewy is very convincing. With his promise of round two and a warm shower in the morning, it’s hard to resist. He also promises an expensive breakfast after the shower, but he says, ‘only if you behave yourself.’ You spend the whole night talking and laughing with him. Not only is he the best fuck you’ve ever had, he’s also the funniest person on earth. He’s got the kindest eyes you’ve ever seen but he’s also the biggest assole you’ve ever met. He’s so confusing, but that night you decide that maybe taking a little more time to try and figure him out won’t be so bad - only time will tell.

hey, im a sfw tk account!! obviously i 100% understand and respect boundaries but imma be honest your dni/intro post is really fucking off-putting. There are both a sfw and nsfw side of the community, both of which are 100% okay and should be respected. I understand there are a lot of kink accounts that do not respect boundaries ESPECIALLY with minors which is fucking disgusting, and that you are 100% entitled to say you don't like tickling that way and don't want to be associated with it.
Anyways. my point. "i hate fetishists just as much as everyone else" is the most baby ass thing ive ever heard, and you sound no better than any homophobe. you have every right to not want nsfw accounts to interact with you, but hating people for their harmless sexual interest is deeply immature and no different than if someone were to say they hate the sfw side of the community. Now you saying you're a minor is very vague - you could be 17 or 12, and there's a huge difference in that. If you're older, i suggest you learn to be a bit more mature, kink-shaming for something harmless is just a dick move and you can critique the nsfw community without doing so. If you're younger, then i doubt anyone else has told you this, but as long as it harms no one, its not an issue, and you can set boundaries without being an asshole.
Thank you so much for pointing this out actually. I have been meaning to update my intro lately because of exactly that that I put in there.
I just want you to know that I didn't mean to kink shame, but I did and there is no excuse for that. I believe when I first wrote that, what I had been TRYING to say was that I hate people disrespecting boundaries (such as a nsfw account harassing a sfw one) but I'm very bad sometimes expressing myself when it comes to writing. I couldn't process what wording to use to explain my boundaries and ended up putting that, and I instantly knew that it didn't sound right. And it doesn't, it sounds terrible. I realize that and I'm going to change that now.
Again thank you for being aware of that, it just goes to show how respectful of a person you are. Your looking out for both parts of the community and that's great. I aim to do the same, so don't worry that part in my dni list is disappearing
Edit: Hi, editing this because I realized how much of a kiss-ass I was being when answering. Look I realize that what I had in my bio was fucked up, and I knew it was, but I promise you I did not mean it. As I said before above, I'm terrible at putting my thought process into words, and I know that sounds like a lame excuse, even I think it does. Your probably wondering "how does this person who doesn't want nsfw interactions end up writing 'I hate fetishists'. It can't possibly be JUST because they can't write how they feel right. "
Well in a way yes, I don't think it was just that. After answering this, I sat down and thought back to when I first my bio and tried to think of any other reason why I wrote that. Well, I finally remembered something. Back when I still used my main blog for this content, I had put a very subtle and friendly dni to nsfw accounts that I didn't want any interaction because it made me uncomfortable, but NOT because I was against it. Despite that, a nsfw account followed me and was reblogging my stuff anyhow. That made me really uncomfortable and upset that they didn't listen that when I made this account to replace my main, I tried to be more assertive about nsfw accounts interacting.
I literally remember sitting there writing my bio and having a hard time processing exactly what I wanted to put because I was still iffy about my experience with the nsfw account. I've figured out what I want in my bio now, but what I had wanted to put back then was something like: "I hate nsfw accounts that direspect boundaries as much as anyone else." But I was having a hard time figuring out how to put that in words + I was frustrated and in the end it had come out as " I hate fetishists " even though I knew I didn't.
I was just trying really hard to make my restrictions clear since they hadn't been respected last time and ended up putting something really fucked that wasn't true, because I couldn't figure out how else to put it.
Nonetheless it was an asshole thing to say, but I didn't mean it. I've said things in conversations before that have come off wrong because I couldn't find my words. I'm neurodivergent, and I'm not using that as an excuse, I'm using it because it's the reason. I can't help that, and I know I'm not the only one who's like that either. Usually, it happens especially when I'm talking about something I'm against OR am making a point of. I just can not figure out how I want to say what I want to say! I usually end up thinking about what I shouldn't say, and for some reason that clumps together with what I DO want to say and it ends up coming all out sounding wrong.
I thank you for standing up for both parts of the community, but even though I wrote an asshole thing, that doesn't make me one, especially now that I've explained myself and I really wish you hadn't gone and assumed me for being one since you didn't know the whole story.
If your going to address someone for something they did, be more assertive and less aggressive

“idfc; blackbear (again it’s so easily related to hawk vibes, maybe he’s afraid to open up again for a relationship after moon so he acts like he doesn’t care about the reader but the mfs actually so in love😩✋🏻)” - @hawkwhore
ugh i love this sm and blackbear 😛 ty for the request as always <3
idfc | eli “hawk” moskowitz x reader
Tumblr media
warnings: just cursing?
summary: based on idfc by blackbear :) hawk doesn’t like you and you don’t know why
a/n: soooo i kinda strayed from the song LOL sorry but this is kinda more cutesy and less angsty than the song. i actually like it though :)
You don’t know why he seemed to hate you.
Ever since you walked into the dojo for the first time, it was like you couldn’t escape his death stare.
Eventually, you got closer to Miguel, his best friend, so you two started going to the same parties and hanging out more often. But he never seemed to warm up to you.
Miguel said Hawk was just intimidated by you because you always beat him when Sensei calls you both to spar. So you let him win one time, but he seemed to hate you even more after.
Which is why you started Operation Get Hawk To Like Me.
It seemed like a fun challenge to get the broody boy to enjoy your company, but you also sincerely wanted to be friends with him. When he would laugh with Miguel and he smiled like the sun, it made you sad that he was so cold towards you but so warm towards others. You wanted the sun.
You decided that the first part of O.G.H.T.L.M was to subtlety be nicer; you didn’t want to be desperately kind out of nowhere and make him dislike you even more.
“Hey!” you called after the red haired boy who was about to open the door to the dojo.
Hawk turned around slowly at the sound of your voice, and you winced at the annoyed look on his face.
“I- uh, I got this for you,” you held out a blueberry smoothie. When everyone hung out at Golf N Stuff, you saw that he got that flavor and took a mental note.
The boy stood in front of you with a twisted face, not reaching out to take the drink. “Why?” he asked.
You shifted awkwardly, feeling nervous under his stare. Was this too forward? “Um... I accidentally got an extra one?” you made the excuse lamely. “Just take it.”
“Give it to Miguel,” Hawk turned around and sauntered into the dojo, leaving you with a frown. But you wiped off any trace of your disappointed expression and walked into practice too.
-
You tried everything.
You waved at him every time you passed each other in the halls. You got him drinks at parties and you even offered to be the designated driver so that he could get wasted with Miguel.
When you two sparred, you lost on purpose each time. Sensei even pulled you aside to ask if something was wrong. “Hawk is getting better,” was all you said, but he didn’t seem convinced.
The list of things you were trying to do for Operation Get Hawk To Like Me seemed endless and you were totally kissing his ass. His feelings about you weren’t budging, and it seemed like this was just a hopeless mission.
“I just don’t get why he hates me so much. I’m trying so hard,” you groaned.
“Maybe that’s why. You’re trying too hard,” Miguel said across from you with a mouthful of fries.
“Well I don’t know what to do then. I want him to know I’m trying.”
“He knows,” your best friend nodded his head nonchalantly.
Your face scrunched up in confusion, causing Miguel to give you an amused look. “Then why doesn’t he care? I’m starting to think there’s just something wrong with me,” you huffed, crossing your arms.
“You should just talk to him if it’s bothering you so much,” Miguel shrugged.
“I guess I should,” you slumped, feeling intimidated by the thought of confronting Hawk. Was it even worth it? If he didn’t want to be your friend now, then what would change if you talked to him? If he would even agree to talk.
-
Tonight. The final step that would determine if you were going to give up on Hawk.
The truth is, it really hurt your feelings how little he cared about you. And it hurt even more when you went out of your way to get him to even acknowledge you as an acquaintance.
You don’t know why it affected you so badly; maybe you’ve always had a teensy crush on him. And maybe this little plan you formulated was actually motivated by your subconscious desire to really get to know him, even though you passed it off as wanting to simply be his friend.
So tonight, at the party you were all going to, you were going to talk to him. And get the truth on why he was so persistent in shoving you away.
“Woah, slow down Y/N. Miss lightweight,” Miguel eyed you cautiously when you downed another cup of beer.
“I just need some liquid courage to face Hawk,” you licked your lips, already feeling the effect of the alcohol clouding your mind. You started to sway without noticing, making Miguel laugh at you amusingly.
“Well good luck with that. But that’s enough, or you won’t even get any words out,” he took the cup from you and you pouted. Miguel subtly motioned behind you, and you turned around to look.
It was the red haired boy you’ve been avoiding all night; the one who made your palms sweat when you thought about the conversation you were planning to have.
But with the alcohol giving you a rush of confidence, you walked up to him with no anxiety. His eyes widened when he saw you rushing forward, and he almost looked afraid.
“Can I talk to you?” you said solidly, feeling braver than you usually are. Hawk looked at you, confused, but nodded to his friends before following you to go somewhere quieter.
He traced behind you as you opened the door to go outside, where there were less people and the music wasn’t so loud.
“Um... is something wrong?” Hawk stood awkwardly in front of you, scratching the back of his neck nervously.
“Of course there’s something wrong,” you replied in a meaner tone than you intended, but you brushed off the guilt.
“Well what is it?” he asked in his usual annoyed tone that he used only when he needed to speak to you.
You felt your cheeks heat up with frustration. “Why don’t you like me?” you blurted out, and the expression on his face told you that he wasn’t prepared for it at all.
“W-What?” Hawk stuttered, his previously composed persona was gone.
“Why don’t you like me?” you repeated, more forcefully. “I am so nice to you. But you just hate me and I have no idea why! And you’re just best buds with everyone else, so I know you aren’t incapable of having friends. Do you know how shitty that feels? Especially when I try so hard to just get you to treat me decently!” your mouth ran on and on and words were coming out without you thinking.
Your blurred vision from your anger cleared after you caught your breath, and you focused on his shocked expression. It was the most expression he’s ever shown you.
“I-I-” Hawk stammered, but you cut him off.
“Look, I’ll leave you alone if you just tell me to. But tell me why, so I can give up. I’m sorry, okay? For whatever I’ve done that makes you not even want to be near me. And I don’t even know why I feel like I need you to like me, I just-”
This time he was the one to interrupt you. “I do like you.”
You blinked in confusion, taken aback by his words.
Hawk licked his lips anxiously, taking a breath in before speaking, “I’m sorry. I know I’ve been a dick. The truth is... I’ve been... um... catching feelings for you. And I guess I was trying to protect myself by pushing you away.”
Your mouth dropped open at his confession. Out of all the responses you were expecting when you were overthinking about the conversation, this one was one you could have never seen coming. But surprisingly, it made your stomach turn and your heartbeat accelerate.
He continued, this time looking into your eyes with his blue ones. “I don’t hate you at all. I just... I just felt like last time I caught feelings for someone I just got hurt. And I was all in, but they weren’t. That’s why I keep myself from getting close to you. I’m sorry Y/N,” Hawk confessed his whole heart, leaving you speechless.
After barely getting a few words out of him everyday, his confession of feelings was overwhelming. But you finally understood him. You knew about his relationship with Moon and how it went down from all the school gossip, but for some reason you never pieced together that it was why his guard was up so high.
“I don’t really know what to say,” you admitted, still feeling woozy from both the alcohol and his speech. You weren’t sure about your feelings and you didn’t want to say something you didn’t mean. Yes, you had feelings for him too, but everything was going so fast.
Hawk gave you a smile that calmed you from your worry. “It’s okay, sorry. It was a lot. But if you still want we can be friends.” He reached out his hand for you to shake and confirm your partnership.
Instead of taking it, you took him by surprise by wrapping your arms around his shoulders. He melted into the hug after a few seconds, and you smiled from behind his view. “Friends,” you pulled away and he beamed at you warmly.
You finally got the sun.
a/n: omg bye this was not like the song at all SORRY there wasn’t that much action it was just fluffy IVE BEEN WATCHING TOO MUCH MIRACULOUS LADYBUG like they r so soft and u can see the influence of it on my writing lmaoo anyways hope u enjoyed!! :)

Mission Accomplished || D.M
summary: pansy and blaise make it their mission to get y/n and draco together
pairing: draco x fem!reader
warnings: fluff, not sure abt anything else — please comment if I missed something!!
word count: 1.6k
a/n: pls ive been writing this since the beginning of feb but i didn’t know how to end it off
Tumblr media
draco had taken an interest in you ever since you had laughed at a joke he mumbled during class, with no intention of being heard. he turned to the owner of the laugh, to see you sitting next to your friend with your hand over your mouth, trying to conceal your giggles. that’s when he decided that your laugh was now his favorite sound in the world and that he wanted to hear it more.
he hadn’t made his crush on you known, besides to blaise. he rarely even talked with you before, but he wanted to change that this year. he started off by greeting you whenever you two passed each other in the halls, to initiating small conversations with you during your shared classes, and now he was joining you in the library to read after he ‘coincidentally’ shared the same reading spot as you.
pansy and blaise entered the library together, in search of a book they needed in order to start on their astronomy project. they both walked to the aisle where the book would be found, pansy’s fingers gliding over the spines of the books as she searched for the one in particular. “do me a favor and help me find it?” she spat out to blaise, irritated that he stood there staring off at something she could care less about.
“is that draco with y/n?” blaise asked instead, noticing the familiar blonde boy sitting at a table across from you. this immediately caught pansy’s attention as she averted her focus from the bookshelf in front of her to the table you two sat at. “no way!”
“they are so into each other,” pansy silently squealed as she watched you burst out into giggles due to some awful joke draco had made, you seemed to have a thing for his jokes. “draco’s liked her for months now.” a grin appeared on blaise’s face, trying to hold in his laughter at draco’s lame attempt at flirting with you.
“and he hasn’t made a move on her yet?” pansy questioned. blaise shook his head side to side to answer her question when an idea suddenly entered her brain. “blaise we have to do something!”
“like what?” blaise was confused, unsure of what pansy meant. “forget the project, we have to set them up! mission y/n and draco!” pansy exclaimed. she excitedly grabbed blaise’s hand and dragged him to a table far from yours to create a plan, while blaise internally groaned, knowing how passionate she could become when it came to stuff like this.
being a prefect always was an advantage. and luckily for pansy and blaise who were both prefects, this made it easy for them to execute their plan.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*  *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
one foggy night, you threw a jumper and sweats over your body, preparing for your late night stroll around the castle. you liked to do this whenever you couldn’t fall asleep, finding that a walk seemed to be relaxing and calm the thoughts running through your head.
you exited your dormitory quietly, being careful enough to not wake your sleeping dormmates. you walked down the stairs and into the common room, feeling chills run up and down your body as you felt the temperature drop. you made it across, about to exit the room when you walked straight into something — no, someone.
“sneaking out again, y/n?” there stood pansy ahead of you. she kept a straight face, slightly raising her eyebrow in attempt to intimidate you.
“weren’t you just asleep?” you looked back and pointed towards the steps to the dormitories, confused as to where she came from. she was asleep in the dorm, right?
“I’m sorry but I’m going to have to give you a detention,” she stated as you gave her a questioning look. “you’re not serious, are you? you know I’ve snuck out a million times already and never gave me one before,” you tried to reason with her.
“and that’s exactly why I should be giving you one, you’ve snuck out one too many times y/n. meet me for detention in snape’s classroom. saturday, 5PM, and don’t be late.” she left so quickly and was already gone before you could question her sudden change in opinion.
meanwhile, draco sat in the common room one afternoon, looking back and forth between papers as he copied goyle’s homework. with one question left, he was almost done and turned to glance at goyle’s paper one last time when it was suddenly snatched away from underneath him.
“what the hell?!” draco looked up to see blaise holding onto the piece of parchment he desperately needed in order to complete his assignment.
“really, draco? cheating? I’m absolutely flabbergasted and disappointed in you!” blaise overexaggerated and flailed his arms around, causing draco to furrow his brows in confusion. “I’m giving you a detention for going against your academic honesty!” blaise sighed and crossed his arms, dramatically shaking his head at his friend.
“what are you on mate? did you not just copy off of his homework before me?” draco was irritated as blaise prevented him from finishing his homework. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. now, meet me in snape’s classroom at 5PM on saturday for your detention.” and with that, blaise left, not giving draco a chance to hex him.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*  *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
it was now saturday, a few minutes before the clock struck 5PM. you were making your way to snape’s classroom, pissed that you had to spend your free time in detention.
arriving at your destination, you opened the door and entered the classroom, curious as to what pansy had planned for your detention. the first thing you noticed was an empty classroom, before turning to the back corner and spotting your favorite blonde. “draco? what are you doing here?”
“blaise gave me a bloody detention for ‘going against my academic honesty,’ whatever that means. you?” he raised an eyebrow as he waited for your reply. “pansy caught me trying to sneak out.”
he slowly nodded as you took a seat beside him, “don’t you find it odd that blaise and pansy never give slytherins detentions, especially not their own friends. and the one time they do, it happens to be on the exact same day at the exact same time?” he questioned as you thought it over.
“you’re right, that is a bit odd.”
after waiting a few more minutes for blaise and pansy to arrive, draco went to grab his bag off the floor as he stood up. “I have better things to do and seeing that they’re late, I’m going to go do those other things. care to join?”
“lead the way, malfoy.” you grinned at him, gesturing your arm towards the door. he made his way over to the door, you following right behind him. you waited for him to open it, yet that never happened.
“the door won’t open,” he concluded after a few moments of him rattling the doorknob.
“what do you mean the door won’t open?”
“it means, the door won’t open.” you lightly shoved him out of the way, pulling out your wand and muttering alohomora. you became frustrated when you went to open the door and the lock still wouldn’t budge.
after multiple attempts to open the door, both of you realized it was no use. you guys were locked in.
you found yourself sitting on the floor besides draco, talking with one another for hours on end as you wore his jumper. he had politely offered it to you when he noticed you shivering due to the cold dungeon air, in which you denied it at first, but he kept on insisting.
you started drifting off, his words started twisting into gibberish and his voice became muffled. draco felt his heart warm when your head fell onto his shoulder. “oh c’mon y/n, don’t fall asleep on me.”
“I’m sorry, it’s just your jumper is so comfy and warm,” you lightly spoke as you snuggled closer into his body. draco thought his heart was about to burst.
suddenly, the door opened and entering the room was snape, who only stared at the two of you when he noticed his two students just casually sitting on his classroom floor. the sudden noise made you bolt awake.
“out.” his voice was curt and blunt, causing you and draco to rush to your feet. you hurriedly exited the room as draco mumbled a “sorry professor.”
you and draco ran down the hall, hardly able to contain your laughter when you entered the common room.
sitting on the couches before you and draco were pansy and blaise, who wore amused looks upon draco’s and your appearance.
“nice jumper, y/n.” blaise wiggled his eyebrows at the two of you when you and draco finally realized what was going on. “they did this on purpose, didn’t they?” draco spoke up beside you.
“I’m gonna get those little gits.” you ran straight for pansy as she yelped and ran towards the dorms, you following straight behind her.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*  *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
the following day at breakfast, pansy was fangirling over the sight of you two walking down the hall hand in hand. “mission accomplished, blaise! you were actually a good partner, we should do it again sometime. ooo how about daphne and theo?”
truth be told, you were glad blaise and pansy had done that as it allowed you and draco to realize your feelings for one another.
what you did not like, was the fact that pansy and blaise had the audacity to take credit for your relationship with draco. and while it may be true, you would never admit it to them out loud.

the pre-pancetta snippet: early december, 3 months before the world went to shit
💉levi gets sick [levi grumbles in the background]
it was the pre-pandemic flu season. levi caught it at work and just his luck, it was pretty bad for him. but healthcare is expensive, capitalism sucks, so he wore a mask and still went to work the next day, thinking bedrest during the weekend would be enough. erwin kindly dropped off some sports drinks while hange gave him a new bag of black tea leaves. oc comes home to find him almost asleep at the table while waiting for water to boil for his tea and her senses tingle. she just knows. levi is pretty out of it by then, very pissed, feeling like shit, but still thinking about the slack he has to pick up at work. oc is very concerned because he looks awful. she bugs him and asks him if he’s okay with her checking him up. he is about to tell her to piss off but what the hell, lucky his roomie’s a doctor and he’ll take free healthcare when he can. so he nods once in dramatic brooding levi fashion.
her hands are cool on his forehead and neck, it feels so good, and levi is really trying not to accidentally moan out loud. when she brings out her stethoscope and asks him to take deep breaths, his focus is on her hand absentmindedly rubbing his shoulder [levi thoughts: he’s really out of it if this is all he can focus on]. oc’s brow furrows when she finds out he’s had only one cup of tea for the entire day and only one meal the day before. he says he’s brewing more, but oc is not having it! she heats up some leftover soup she has and makes him eat before handing him a tylenol. levi feels unsteady and weak but he’s trying to keep up the i’m-fine-it’s-just-the-flu facade. oc sees right through it and tails him to his room.
she helps him to bed, all while saying he’ll need meds for the virus and he needs to eat and drink more fluids because he’ll need an IV drip if not. even if it’s just the flu, he got a pretty bad case. levi strips off his shirt before he drops onto his pillows, grumpy and dismissive, telling her to just leave the prescription. he can handle it. oc snorts before leaving him alone (for now)
levi wakes up to rustling sounds and finds oc by his bedside setting up some stuff. his head is pounding, entire body is aching, and his cough is killing his throat. he’s very grumpy and is about to tell oc to just let him be but he gets a coughing fit. oc rubs his back while checking his vitals, her voice soft with worry as she asks him how he is feeling. he says he went to the bathroom but that’s it. he doesn’t see oc frown, but he’s more than annoyed that he is disturbed when she digs him out of the blankets. she helps him sit up, propping him on his pillows, and she makes him eat more soup, drink some tea, and take his meds. his throat is cooling and he realizes belatedly that she made him strong mint tea. he’s just swallowing whatever so he can go back to sleep [levi is trying very hard not to vocalize his disappointment whenever her hands leave him]. oc sighs at the little care her patient has for himself, but she tells him that he needs a drip at this point. she’s not satisfied with how little he’s been eating and drinking. levi is ready to throw hands because he refuses to spend thousands of dollars for 2 hours at the emergency room and get scammed by health insurance just so they can give him IV fluids, but oc surprises him by saying she’s all set up, and if he’s okay with it, she can do it here.
he shrugs and holds out his hand. the skin of her hands are a little rough with a few calluses, her touch so light and sure. the needle pinches but the pain dulls after a few seconds. he watches oc taping up the line and securing his hand to some makeshift splint so it doesn’t move around much. oc hangs up the bottle on the hanger she installed on the wall lamp by his bed before heading out. levi tries to fall back into sleep again. suddenly, he feels a damp cool cloth brush his forehead and his face while another hand runs through his hair gently. he’s groggy and he squirms because what. he hears oc shushing him, saying something about sponge baths for fever, and he’s just so not used to tenderness and care, and she’s sponging down his neck and his chest, running over his arms, turning him on his side gently so she doesn’t jostle him into wakefulness. her hands are firm and gentle as they wipe down his back and it’s cool and soothing and so good over his heated skin. he falls asleep in minutes. this never happens.
he thinks oc drops in once more in the middle of the night because he remembers someone holding him up to take something. when he wakes up the next morning, his fever is gone and he feels like himself again. he sees an empty bottle on his bedside table which means oc must have changed his drip too. the one he’s hooked to is almost gone. he’s in the middle of answering a work email on his phone when oc, already dressed for work, pops in to check on him. she has a tray in hand, looking genuinely relieved and happy that he’s better. his knows his appetite is back because the smell immediately makes his mouth water. he is very hungry after 3 days of soup and tea. she made really good pancakes, fried bacon to a perfect crisp, and the scrambled eggs are savory and creamy. it’s killing him. he can forgive the tea bag from a packet. levi is still a tea snob. oc is cheery, chirping that he’s good to go without a drip as long as he keeps up his food and fluids.
oc: water, tea, or pocari sweat, levi! none of the sugary sports drinks erwin left you, that stuff is a scam.
levi: i don’t have pocari—
oc: i bought you some, they’re in the drinks cupboard!
levi: why—
oc: it’s not just sugar, it has the electrolytes you need!!
she unhooks the IV and takes out his line, lays out his medication regimen and tells him to please call her if he starts feeling bad again. levi rolls his eyes and bats her concern away, grumbling that he’s fine and well enough, but he’s listening to every word she says. he utters a small thank you because how on earth does he convey his immense gratitude in words, he is not used to words!!! his cheeks feel very warm. oc giggles and ruffles his hair. she understands her roomie’s not talkative, but his soft gaze betrays everything beneath his gruff exterior. his shyness is adorable even if he was a grumpy old man while sick. oc thinks that her theory of him being 89 years old deep inside might be right after all. she sternly tells him to rest and lay off strenuous activities until he’s really recovered.
oc: rest. no cleaning today.
levi: my room—
oc: no. cleaning. today.
and just like that, she’s off to work [levi thoughts: wtf she works on sundays?]. all that levi can think of for three days, or more like since that day, are her gentle, comforting touches, her kind smiles, and how pretty she is. he tries, he really tries to push back the thoughts and bury the memories, but all efforts become in vain for him the next week.
he’s reading on the couch and relaxing for the night when oc comes out of her room looking like a fucking goddess. she’s in a deep green dress of flowing silk with thigh-high slit, sporting a dark, vibrant red lip, complaining of some recognition ceremony she has to attend for one of her bosses at work. she pouts while slipping on pumps that make her legs look even more stunning. levi is aware that he is staring and has tuned out her voice, so he forces himself out of it. he remembers basic conversation etiquette and lamely asks about the party. oc says it’s a black-tie-long-gown thing that’s a waste of her time. she twists her hair up in a messy bun and puts on earrings, grumbling that this is the most formal she’ll go. levi is mildly amused when she says she’ll nick a bottle of good champagne and some desserts before she escapes the party in an hour. tops.
levi: what if you get caught?
oc: they can spare one bottle and a few cupcakes
levi: and what reason have you come up with if they start interrogating you?
oc: my roommate is sad and a stress-eat is essential after shitty weeks of being underpaid laborers *cheeky smile*
he rolls his eyes. when she steps out their door (her uber’s there), levi counts to ten before groaning very loudly to let his frustrations out.
but she really did steal and bring home the good stuff, squealing in excitement when she sees that he was still up. he actually waited for her to get home but she doesn’t need to know that. they shared fruit tarts and fancy mini-cakes and worked through the bottle of champagne while bonding over their mutual disdain for assholes at work. conversation was open and easy, and levi cannot remember when he has been this comfortable around others who weren’t old friends of his. he was in an old shirt and jogger shorts. oc was still in her dress, barefoot, lipstick still perfect and bun still messy, picking a strawberry off the last cake while laughing at his dry jab about her boss. and jesus christ, she was exquisite.
at this point, denial begins to trickle in, but levi doesn’t know that yet. it’s just the champagne, right?
end. this was so mf long, i’m so sorry 😭 anyway this is insanely self-indulgent, and this is me coping with the pandemic (and with SnK ending today)
AHHHHHHH I LOVE ALL OF THIS ANON!!! SO MUCH!!!! PLEASE THIS HIT ALL THE MARKS!! Levi being reluctant to having someone take care of him, oc picking up on him not feeling well even though he’s not really showing it, and eventually just giving him the care and attention he needs (without suffocating him because you know he would be grumpy about that). I love this wow, seriously.
AND THE END!! When they’re drinking together and he’s feeling better, you know damn well he didn’t even want her to leave in the first place, and IM SO GLAD HE’S FINALLY REALIZING!! Levi, my beloved, you are in love it is not the champagne 😌😌

Unwaivering
Kirishima can't help but find himself drawn to the blond currently hunched over, asleep at his bedside. He can't explain it, this magnet-like attraction to him, this innate sense of comfort, of familiarity that seems to pool in his stomach, flutter in his chest as he looks over the other man.
The presence of a horned woman with pink hair and skin sitting in the chair less than 3 feet away from his hospital bed also provides a sense of comfort to him, but not to the same strange extent the blond does.
If only he knew who either of them were.

The solid, steady rhythm of some kind of beeping is what rouses him.
The sound's not sudden; Its as though he'd been floating in a black, inky void that muffled anything and everything, but the beeping had been patiently insistent. He wasn't sure when he'd registered it, or how long it'd been slowly rising in volume before he could no longer ignore it, but now that he was aware of it, he had to know what it was.
The second that desire for knowledge, that determination is cemented in his re-stabilizing consciousness, he feels heavy. There's a general acknowledgement of 'hurt', pretty much everywhere.
Before he brings himself to open his eyes, he can feel himself laying down, but not flat on his back. He's propped up slightly, in an angle that's an awkward compromise between sitting up and laying down. The plush comfort beneath him, behind him, as well as the warmth that carpets him from about his mid-chest down, is indicative of him being in a bed. Safe. Is he safe? He tries to bring himself to talk, to call out for someone, anyone, that could or would help him. Why wouldn't he be safe? Should he be safe? Was it normal to wonder if you were safe or not while waking up? No words leave him, though, a low, strained sounding groan being the only thing he could manage.
There's the sound of a sharp intake of air(a gasp, maybe?) from somewhere nearby, but he momentarily ignores it, moving what all of his body he can as he slowly re-acquaints himself with the familiarity of his joints, his muscles. That general sensation of 'hurt' now becomes more pronounced, more detailed, more specific in various areas of his body: the expanse of his chest, the length of his arms, though most notably is his head. He slowly tilts his head from left, to right, then back to its natural position, feeling his face contort in discomfort. He takes a deep inhale, and feels the ache in his chest expand as his lungs do. Reflexively, his fingers curl in on themselves and--
There's a warmth in his right hand, a presence of something foreign loosely wrapped around it.
Despite the surprising weight his eyelids seem to bear, he's able to open his eyes, looking down towards his right hand. As the world around him slowly comes into focus, he's able to make out that yes, he is on a bed, and yes, there is definitely something in his hand - specifically, another person's hand. Instinctively, he brushes his thumb along the back of this other hand. Though as his gaze travels along the arm connected to that hand, and the body connected to that arm, he stops, and takes in the sight of a blond man sitting in a chair placed directly next to his bed, hunched over in an uncomfortable looking manner. The blond's torso is resting awkwardly against the bed, and his head is turned in his direction; as though this mystery man fell asleep watching him.
There's a moment's hesitancy, a brief lapse in action as the thought of 'Who is this man?' relays itself in his head. However, before he can make any other move to interact with the blond, a voice cuts through the silence.
"Kiri?"
Tensing, he reluctantly tears his gaze away from the blond at his right side, to the owner of the voice coming from his left. He's greeted with the presence of a young woman with a pair of pale yellow-white horns in her poofy pink hair, the shade of which matched her skin. She was sitting in cushioned chair approximately three feet away from his bed, in a white and pink tye-dye crop top and black leggings. Their gazes lock, and in searching her eyes for some sort of explanation, she opens her mouth again, speaking softer this time.
"... Eijirou? Babe?"
He blinks at the tone of her words, the slight tremor in her voice. It sounded almost like she was... scared, maybe? Kiri... Eiji...rou? Lamely, he draws his gaze away from her, staring more at the floor by her feet. Why did that feel familiar? Kiri... Eijirou...
...Eijirou... Kiri...? There was something more; He could feel it. Kiri... Kiri... Kirishi... Kirishima...?
His eyes widened. Eijirou Kirishima.
Oh. Oh, that's right; That was his name, wasn't it?
It felt like something clicked into place at that, and Kirishima raised his left hand, his gaze going from its current spot on the floor, to his raised hand. He flexed his fingers, exhaling slowly as he did. Looking up, Kirishima finally took in his surroundings, and was made aware of the IV hooked up to his right arm, of the beeping that had woken him up in the first place coming from a machine that was monitoring his pulse, of a second bed in the room several feet behind the blond slumped by his side.
"I..." His throat feels raspy, the timbre of his voice soft and low, "Is this... a hospital?"
The pink woman nods, the move slow and hesitant. Her eyes glance towards his head before looking back into his eyes, and she takes a moment before speaking again. "Yeah, you..." She frowned slightly, her lower lip jutting out in a pout as she seemed to consider her next words carefully. "You've been here since about noon, yesterday." Kirishima glances around the room at that, eventually landing on an analog clock on a wall that read a little less than half past seven. The lack of light shining through the room's windows tipped him off to it more than likely being in the evening. The woman's voice draws him back to look at her. "What all do you remember?"
At that, Kirishima blinks, opening his mouth momentarily before slowly closing it upon realizing he couldn't recall... anything, really. A cold chill washes over him as he tenses, it briefly feeling like someone had frozen his insides. He didn't even remember his own name until just a moment ago... what the hell happened to him? He can only imagine the expression he's giving off, because he watches as the woman's own expression falls, her lips pressing together in a thin line as a small whimper(? whine?) escapes her.
He has the feeling of wanting to comfort her, something in him saying 'you don't like seeing her like this', and starts to stretch his left hand out as though he's trying to reach for her. She meets him halfway, turning the chair to face him directly, grabbing his one hand with both of hers.
"You don't remember anything, do you?" She asks, a sad laugh escaping her as her eyes begin to water. "You big doof, reaching over to try and make me feel better when you're the one in the hospital bed." She pulls one of her hands away to awkwardly dab at her eyelids with the back of her thumb. "You're gonna make me ruin my makeup."
Kirishima manages a weak smile and chuckle, giving the hand still holding his a gentle squeeze. The action reminds him that his right hand is also occupied by the hand of another, and he glances over to the blond again, chewing worriedly at his lower lip upon realizing that the blond was wearing a hospital gown, and that both his arms were wrapped in bandages. This guy was hurt too? Looking back to the woman, Kirishima speaks. "What happened to him?"
Another laugh leaves the woman, though this one sounds more... amused than sad. The sound is followed by a sniffle, and she shakes her head with a small smile on her face. "First you're worried about me, then you ask about what happened to Blasty? I mean, I know you, I get it, but c'mon. Kiri, babe, you're my best friend and I love you to death, but you could be a little selfish for once and ask about yourself, ya know?"
There's a beat of silence between them, Kirishima blinking before frowning confusedly. "Best friends?" He asks, his head cocking to the side slightly. "We're... best friends?"
A flicker of hurt passes through the woman's eyes at that, and there's an immediate feeling of guilt that sinks deep in Kirishima's gut. But the hurt is gone as quickly as it appeared, and she nods. "Yep!" She plasters on a big smile, giving his hand a tight squeeze. "The name's Mina Ashido. We've known each other since middle school, though we didn't really give our friendship the 'best friends' label until about our second year of high school." Her smile simmers down into something more playful, a giggle escaping her. "Honestly, Kami moped for like three minutes after finding out, and tried to save face by saying that Sero was his best friend, but you were quick to scoop him up in a hug and be like, 'Don't worry Denks, you guys are all my best friends!' but I had to add in that I had seniority and rank on him and Sero since I'd known you longer, and--"
A groan cuts Mina off, her and Kirishima looking over to the origin of the noise: the blond at Kirishima's bedside. The blond's expression scruntches uncomfortably, a small snort escaping him as he nuzzles his head against the arm its resting against, and the hand holding Kirishima's twitches.
"Yikes..." Mina whispers, seething slightly. "I should probably be a little quieter."
Kirishima doesn't look back at her yet, carefully looking over the blond and brushing his thumb against the back of his hand. "You said his name was... Blasty?"
Mina's silent for a second, which prompts Kirishima to look back at her. Her expression is sad again, though when she realizes he's looking at her, she's quick to force a smile. "Yes and no," she replies, letting go of Kirishima's hand as she fully sits back in her chair. "Blasty, Lord Explosion Murder, 'Kacchan' technically, if Kaminari's teasing or if you're Midoriya." A weak laugh leaves her as before she says, "I call him Boom Boom Bitch every once in a while, but that's cuz he calls me Bubble Gum Bitch." Her empty smile dies down, and hands are in her lap, her thumbs fiddling with themselves. "... None of that is... ringing any bells?"
There's something in her voice that makes the guilt rush back into Kirishima full force, pooling in his stomach, making his chest ache. His lips curl in on themselves as he forces himself to think, to focus on what he presumes are the blond's nicknames, to try and see if any inkling of his real name emerges for the empty expanse that was currently his lack of memories. But when he comes up with nothing, he looks away and shakes his head, feeling disappointed, like he's betrayed both Mina and the blond by not remembering.
He hears Mina give a soft hum, and a brief silence settles between them. Kirishima isn't sure how long it lasts; it could just be seconds, but it feels like an eternity. He feels frustrated, so frustrated, about this guilt, this disappointment, this upset that threatens to consume him, all because he can't remember this man's name - a man who's currently hunched over at his bedside, passed out, visibly injured, holding onto his hand like a lifeline. Even without his memories, Kirishima could tell this man was important to him in some way. Kirishima's jaw tenses, he closes his eyes and tries his damnedest to recall something, anything, subconsciously holding the blond's hand a little tighter and--
"Eijirou?"
At the sound of Mina's voice, Kirishima opens his eyes, and is caught off-guard by the sudden blur of his vision, by how hot his eyes were. His face feels wet. Shakily, Kirishima's left hand rises to feel his own face, a shuddering breath escaping him as he does so.
...Ah. He's crying.
He sniffles, rubbing at his eyes and cheeks with the back of his left hand, intent on wiping away his tears, on staunching them from flowing any further. Kirishima's too caught up in himself, in his effort to hide his tears (Don't be weak; Put on a strong front, a voice in the back of his head tells him. It's not unmanly to cry though; It's ok to be vulnerable, says an opposing voice. He's not sure which to listen to in this moment.) that he doesn't notice Mina getting up from her seat, the young woman moving to wrap her arms around him in a hug.
Its almost second-nature, the way Kirishima's left arm moves to hook around her back, his fingers grabbing at one of her shoulders as he turns to bury his head against her other shoulder. He can hear her attempting to stifle her own crying, can feel her trembling in his hold, and something nags at him in the back of his head. He's hugged her like this before, they've been in a familiar situation before. Both crying, both upset. Mortified. Abhorred. A feeling of loss. Loss at ...night? ...Midnight? Did something happen to them... late at night? He can't quite place it, can't quite explain it, and opts not to try and vocalize it, not wanting to make the woman - make Mina - cry more.
Mina leans her head against Kirishima's, and when he can feel her crying ease, she speaks.
"... Bakugo. His name is Katsuki Bakugo."
Something lights up within Kirishima at that, an eruption of warmth, of comfort, of emotion he's not sure he knows how to name upon hearing the name. It feels strong, it feels right, it feels like home. The name alone somehow manages to soothe the hurt, the ache he's feeling, and gives him the support he needs to find the strength to ease into a more collected state. His fingers curl into the fabric of her crop top, and he exhales deeply, his thumb brushing against the blond's-- against Bakugo's hand. He turns his head to look at their hands again, his cheek resting on Mina's shoulder.
The sight of their hands conjoined, along with the knowledge of Bakugo's name... Something else seems to click into place, and he's filled with a flurry of emotions. Worry. Apprehension. Fear. But at the same time, there's drive. There's insistence. There's the desire to protect. To help. To save. A rush of adrenaline. A time limit. One chance. An unknown voice: "It has to be you." His own voice, desperate: "Come on!" Katsuki's hand in his. Warmth. Overwhelming relief. Safe. He's safe. He's safe.
So why was he hurt now?
Fingers curl just a little tighter around Bakugo's hand, before Kirishima speaks. "What happened to him?" He asks for the second time now, his voice shaky. "What happened to me?"
Mina begins to pull away, and honestly Kirishima's hesitant to let her go, but says nothing, releasing his hold on her. She moves back only to pull her chair closer to his bed, and takes a seat. She reaches for his left hand, and he's quick to give it to her, giving her hand a supportive squeeze as she prepares to speak.
"Alot of this is probably going to sound foreign to you, so I'll try to make it as... easy to understand as I can." Mina says. Kirishima sees her jut her lower lip out in a small pout as she thinks, presumably to try and filter out anything that might confuse him. He gives her all the time she needs. "You and Bakugo, along with some other people, were on duty, working on some big case." Her thumb brushes against his hand. "I couldn't tell you much about it, because the agency I'm working at wasn't involved. But the agency you work at, and the agency Bakugo works at, were two that were involved."
"You were excited. You and Bakugo hadn't really teamed up on anything together since our last year at U.A-- the high school we all went to together." Mina smiled at that, the sight fond and gentle. "Not that you didn't like working together, it's just that the agencies you worked at had never teamed up before then."
"Agencies... Like, detectives?" Kirishima asked, regretting speaking up upon seeing Mina's soft expression falter.
She was silent for a moment, before working up that smile again and shaking her head. "No, Kiri. Um... Like heroes."
He blinks. Heroes? Him, a hero? He... he couldn't have been a hero, right? Heroes... Heroes had really cool and flashy quirks, and his own was...
What was his quirk again?
Kirishima frowns slightly, slowly pulling his gaze away from Mina as he tries to focus, tries to will some fragment of a memory to him that would tell him what his quirk was, but to no avail. Its frustrating, so frustrating, but he manages to exhale slowly through his nose, closing his eyes for a moment before opening them again and looking to Mina. He does his best to keep his expression neutral, he doesn't want his anxiety and frustration to upset her. His gaze meets hers, and he nods affirmingly, a silent go ahead to continue.
Mina squeezes his hand comfortingly before continuing. "Like I said, I don't know the full details. But apparently you guys got a break in the case you were all working on, and had to do like, a covert sorta thing? You, Bakugo, and several other heroes infiltrated a building the villains were going to use to take civilian hostages, by dressing up as civilians yourselves and quietly telling the actual civilians to discreetly get out, which woulda left only heros dressed as civilians, and the villains. But something happened, I don't know what, and fighting broke out in the building. You and Bakugo went after one villain together, and apparently the room you guys ended up in had some kids hiding in there. You moved to protect them, but for whatever reason, you didn't activate your quirk in time, and were hurt pretty bad." Mina's visibly forcing herself to not cry at this point, doing all she can to presumably keep a positive face, but its failing and it tugs at Kirishima's heart.
"I don't know exactly how bad you were hurt, how... extensive your injuries were," Mina's hand is trembling in his now, her free hand dabbing at her eyes again, "but I overheard Bakugo talking with one of the doctors when I got here yesterday. Your skull had a really bad fracture, and there was something about your brain, bleeding or swelling or something, and--" She's half-sobbing at this point, clearly fighting to keep coherent. "They'd done what they could to stablize you on site after Bakugo had rushed you to the paramedics, and performed surgery when you got here and you were in there for so long and Bakugo was a mess and I was too but I'd never seen him like that, and oh god, you had us so scared Kiribabe, and-- and--!" Mina finally devolves into body-wracking sobs, the smile gone from her face as she attempts to stifle the noises leaving her. Kirishima's heart plummets into his stomach, and he holds her hand tight, the action being all he can do at this point but its not enough, she's crying, Eijirou, help her, do something, say something, anything. Help her like you helped those kids--
There's a slight pain in his head suddenly that causes Kirishima to wince, pulling his hand away from Mina's into hold his head, palm meeting an apparently bandage-covered temple. There's a chain of coughs. Small. Weak. Pitiful sounding. A whimper immediately follows, trailed by the soft 'shh!' of a child. Child? Children. There's kids in here. He turns his head, takes his eyes off the villain for a moment as an explosion sounds behind him, the sound of a struggle. His eyes quickly scan the area. There's a small leg sticking out near some rubble, black pants, a little red shoe. How did he miss it? How could he have missed it? His gaze trails up the leg, and he spots them: two kids, partially obscured by the debris of the building, one cradling the other - the smaller - in their lap, both children covered in soot and ash.
"Kiri?"
Mina's voice is faint, almost like it's floating away. She sounds scared. A sound escapes him, a grunt? A whine? It sounds far away too, but he doesn't focus on it; he can't focus on it. Not yet. Another explosion sounds behind him, followed by a crash. He hears someone - Katsuki? - cry out in pain. He turns his head. Katsuki's been thrown back first into some of the debris, crumpled awkwardly. Worry. Fear. Panic. Is he alright? It's Katsuki, of course he's alright, right? Get up. Please. Get up. The villain turns from Katsuki to look back at him. Their gaze drops towards the kids. There's a malicious look on their face, and no no nO-- He's moving fast. Is he faster than them? Should he activate his quirk now? No. He's slower when he's hardened; get to the kids first, then harden. Don't risk it. Civilians first. He's running. Adrenaline. Terror. Oh god please make it. He's sliding onto his knees, his body is hunched over awkwardly. Block the children from the villain. Leave enough room between you and the children so they don't get hurt by your quirk. Your quirk. Harden. Unbreakable. Harden!
"Kirishima?!"
His fingers are digging into his hair. He shakes head. Not yet. He can feel the ripple of hardening begin to sprout from the center of his back. Everything's in slow motion. He looks down. One of the kids is hurt, there's blood on their arm as the other kid cradles them. The bigger kid, the one holding the other, looks up at him. There's terror in those eyes. What to do, what to do, what to do? Be unbreakable. Unwaivering. His Hardening's made its way towards the front of his torso, his lower back, his shoulders, the base of his neck. He manages a smile at the older kid. It'll be ok, he wants to say. The words never form. Something makes contact with his back, but it's large, larger than he is. It slams into the entire expanse of his body, regardless of his Hardening's caught up with the rest of him or not. There's a pain in both his arms, at the back of his head, a sickly sounding crack deafened in his eardrums. Pain. Pain pain pain pain pain paIN-- The world is... on its side now? Why are the children sideways? The bigger one is speaking, crying. He can't hear their voice. Its muffled and muddy sounding, as is the villain's voice behind him, sounding rhythmic - perhaps laughter? His vision's starting to blur. Fight, fight, fight! Stay awake, protect the kids, stay aliv--
"Eijirou!"
Mina sounds terrified now, but Kirishima's hands both tighten their grip, there's something hot and wet on his face. He wants to say something, but he can't, not yet, Mina. The sound of an explosion booms behind him, but that too is muffled. The bigger kid lunges forward slightly, being careful with the smaller, using Kirishima's slumped body as a barrier between them and the pressure-filled impact of the explosion. Good. They need to stay safe. Several rounds of explosions burst one after another after another. The world's getting darker now. His body is tense, but he feels himself ebbing away. His surroundings start to fade, but he keeps his gaze on the children. They're trembling in front of him, clasping onto each other fearfully. He wants to move, wants to hold them and soothe their fear, but he can't bring himself to move his arms. Can't bring himself to shift closer somehow. Can't find it in him to even speak. The bigger kid's eyes fly open, and they move, looking past his body at something, before shimmying themself and the smaller child back some. The bigger kid starts crying, and Kirishima's gut sinks when he realizes he can no longer hear the muffled sounds of, or feel the residual force or heat of any explosions. The villain must be coming. Harden. Force it. Protect the kids! But nothing happens. The kids don't attempt to make a run for it. They look worriedly at him, before looking up again. There's a pair of warm hands moving him now, and-- PAIN. His eyes clamp shut as he fails to fight back the garbled noise that leaves him from being moved. He can't hear himself fully, he sounds so far away. There's something hot and wet falling onto him. He opens his eyes, but he doesn't see much. His vision's mostly gone, and all he can make out is a face. An angled face, expression contorted in worry and fear. There's blond hair matted to their forehead by sweat and ash, wide, wet red eyes looking frantically at him and-- oh. It's Katsuki. Katsuki's lips are moving; Katsuki's saying something. The urge to close his eyes is growing too strong to ignore though, the relief flooding his body from it being Katsuki and not the villain making his body feel heavy. He's tired, so very tired. He wants to say something though, to ease that look on Katsuki's face. He feels his mouth open to say something, but he can no longer hear what leaves his lips. He coughs, the action wet and gross, leaving the tangy taste of copper in his mouth. He feels Katsuki tense. Kirishima's sight is so far gone, no matter how hard he tries to force himself to see. He's barely able to make out the sight of Katsuki's lips move one more time. Faintly, he can hear what Katsuki's screaming. 'Eijirou'.
"Eijirou!"
Kirishima's eyes snap open at the familiar gruff voice, his head turning to look at those same red eyes he'd seen in his head just moments ago, a spark of something jolting through his chest as their gazes meet.
Bakugo's awake.
He's sitting up, his expression stern and steely, brows narrowed as he scowls (its a facade, he's terrified right now, one of the voices in the back of his head says, and this time, the other voice doesn't oppose.) and squeezes the hand holding Kirishima's. Its only then that Kirishima realizes he's got both his hands in a death grip, the hand in his hair, and the hand holding Bakugo's. Immediately, he lets go of both, the hand at his hair reaching down to cover his own mouth in abhorrent shock, the other trying to pull away from Bakugo's grip. But Bakugo doesn't let him.
"I'm sorry." Kirishima's voice sounds so small, small enough that for a moment, he doesn't even realize it's his voice, that he's the one who's speaking. He slowly becomes re-aware of his surroundings, the tunnel vision he'd had while recalling what he can only presume were his last moments before waking up here slowly dissipating. Mina's hands are on him, one at his shoulder, one at his mid-back. He's sitting fully upright now, uncurling from the ball-like position he'd been falling into while remembering. Mina looks terrified, she's standing at his bedside, the chair she'd been sitting on pushed away behind her. Kirishima looks from her, to Bakugo, from her, to Bakugo again, before biting his lower lip and lowering his head, eyes welling with tears. "I'm sorry." He repeats. He wants to comfort them, wants to give them what they want, the Eijirou Kirishima they knew, they Eijirou Kirishima they remembered. The Eijirou Kirishima he currently wasn't. "I'm so, so sorry."
He barely registers Bakugo's voice, demanding Mina ('Raccoon Eyes', he calls her) go get one of the doctors, barely registers the loss of warmth and comfort from her hands on him, barely registers the sound of his hospital room door closing. He's alone with Bakugo now, and there's so much he wants to ask, so much he wants to say but he doesn't know how to word any of it, and all that comes out through his crying is another weak, small, "I'm sorry."
Bakugo's free hand joins its twin in holding Kirishima's hand, the blond holding onto it like it's a lifeline. Kirishima feels Bakugo's hands trembling, watches as Bakugo lowers his own head, bringing their conjoined hands towards him. The second the back of Kirishima's right hands is pressed against Bakugo's lowered forehead, he sees the blond's shoulders tremble ever-so-slightly.
"Fucking hell..." Bakugo's voice is soft, slightly gravelly, his dual grip on Kirishima's right hand tightening. "Fucking hell, Eijirou."
There's something in his voice that tells Kirishima that other people would see this as Bakugo chiding Kirishima, being upset at him. Something tells him those other people would be wrong. That this isn't Bakugo being displeased with him.
Something tells him this is Bakugo relieved.
__________________________
An older doctor was quick to come in, Mina trailing behind her before being told to wait outside a short while later. When Kirishima questioned the doctor about making Mina leave, she gently informed him that she only wanted family in the room for just a moment, for patient confidentiality reasons. He didn't argue with her - she was the doctor, after all - but at her words, his eyes flickered over to Bakugo, who was still holding his hand, though the blond had shifted back into an upright position when the doctor and Mina had initially come in, only holding Kirishima's hand with just one of his own now, as opposed to both. If Mina was made to stay outside, shouldn't Bakugo have been made to do the same? Didn't Mina say Bakugo was his friend earlier?
...Now that he thought of it, Mina didn't really say what Bakugo was to him, did she? He recalled she didn't mention him during the 'best friend' conversation they had, but did mention some other people named Sero and Kaminari. Maybe Bakugo was a cousin of his?
The doctor - Dr. Higurashi, she'd introduced herself as - began slowly asking him some questions about his current state, doing various little physical tests on him as she did so: Was he currently in pain? If so, where? On a scale of one to ten, how would he rate his pain? Would he please try follow the light she was going to shine in his eyes? (His eyes are the color red, he learns, adding to his assumptions that Bakugo was probably related to him.) Would he please breathe in and out slowly as she checked his vitals? Could he wiggle his fingers? His toes?
After that was basic math questions, basic problem solving questions, all ranging from simple enough to do in a moment, to complex enough to make him wish he had a pen and paper to write his work out on. It wasn't until she began asking specific questions that Kirishima's anxiety began to creep back in.
"Can you tell me your name?" Dr. Higurashi asked as she stood at the foot of Kirishima's hospital bed, her voice as gentle as her expression.
Kirishima nodded, his hands settling in his lap. The doctor had asked Bakugo to give her and Kirishima a little room, so he was currently sitting upright in his chair, having scooted it back a little bit. Kirishima would have been lying if he said he didn't miss the comfort of Bakugo's hand in his. "My name is Eijirou Kirishima."
Dr. Higurashi smiled, nodding affirmatively. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Kirishima." She gave a quick flick of her wrist against the clipboard she had been previously writing down his physical test results on, presumably checking something off. "Are there any other names or monikers, nickname or otherwise, that you can tell me about?"
Kirishima blinks at that, finding the question odd. "Ah, Mina called me Kiri, if that counts?" He purposefully leaves out the 'babe' and 'Kiribabe' she called him by, not out of embarrassment, but out of the assumption that those might be too personal to count.
From the corner of his peripheral, Kirishima can see Bakugo frown in a way that comes off to him as strange, but he doesn't speak up about it, instead watching as Dr. Higurashi nods and marks something down. "I see. What about your current age?"
Kirishima opened his mouth to speak, but faltered when he realized he couldn't remember how old he was. He swallowed harshly, biting down on his lower lip as he tried to think. Mina had mentioned something about him, her, and Bakugo all going to high school together, that Bakugo and him hadn't teamed up on anything since their last year there. He'd graduated, obviously, since he was apparently a pro hero. So how old was he?
"I'm..." He exhaled slowly, a shuddering breath that didn't relax him like he'd wanted it to. "I'm older than 18."
Dr. Higurashi gives a brief hum then, and when Kirishima says nothing further, she nods and scribbles something on her clipboard. "Ok. Can you tell me when your birthday is?"
He doesn't even know what today's date is. He doesn't even make the attempt this time in trying to force himself to remember, simply shaking his head. "... No, ma'am."
"Do you know if you have a quirk?" She sounds so kind, so patient. Kirishima's thankful that his assigned doctor isn't someone who'd be getting irritated with him or something for not remembering.
He nods at her words though, before closing his eyes, re-seeing the moments before he passed out in his mind's eye. "I do, it's like... defensive. My body becomes..." There's a word he wants to use, a word that played in his mind earlier, a word that felt synonymous with his quirk, felt right. "...Unbreakable."
"I see." Dr. Higurashi repeats, her nose scrunching slightly as she jots something down, before she asks him more questions. His address, his home town, the last meal he ate, the current season, what the day's date is, his previous schools, his current occupation. The last two are the only ones he's able to provide some semblance of an answer to: He went to U.A. for high school and was currently a pro hero. He doesn't hide that he only knows this because of his conversation with Mina, though. In response, Dr. Higurashi asks him what other schools he went to, and what agency he was associated with as a pro hero. He's unable to answer those.
Kirishima can see the doctor's calculating gaze as she jots down little notes that seem to vary in length, some being as quick as a flick of her wrist, to taking several seconds. Her tone has remained calm and friendly, however, something Kirishima's still thankful for. Her patience and understanding has been the only thing keeping him from completely losing it.
Of course it doesn't last long.
"Can you tell me your parents' names?"
He blinks at that. His... parents? His gaze becomes unseeing, his body seems to just stop as he completely draws a blank. If it wasn't for the beeping of the machine monitoring his heartrate, he'd have believed he'd flatlined in that moment, in realizing that not only has he haven't given a single thought to 'oh god, my parents, my family must be worried about me' in the entire time he's been awake, but that he also can't recall any family. Does he even have his parents in his life? Was he raised by a single parent? Were his parents or parent worried about him? Why weren't they here? Why--
Sound is muffled in his ears, almost like he's underwater, and it takes him a moment to focus again, on the dual sounds of Dr. Higurashi and Bakugo speaking to him. He blinks once, twice, before realizing he's trembling, breathing raggedly, curled in on himself again. Dr. Higurashi's hand is on one of his shoulders, her eyes locked onto him as she's trying to grab his attention. His gaze aligns with hers, and she nods, then begins counting, then breathing, counting, then breathing. Bakugo's stopped talking at this point, but Kirishima can feel the other male's hands on him, one on his back, the other on the opposite shoulder of Dr. Higurashi's hand. Kirishima finds himself leaning into Bakugo's touch, and shakily starts breathing in time with the doctor. They all stay like that for several moments, until Kirishima's breathing has evened out.
"Let's stop here," Dr. Higurashi murmurs soothingly, brushing her thumb against Kirishima's shoulder before pulling her hand away. "I'll give you some time to relax, and we can continue this tomorrow morning."
Bakugo's hand is currently rubbing small circles at Kirishima's back, and Kirishima's more than appreciative for the comfort. But he forces out a breath, closing his eyes for a moment before looking back up at Dr. Higurashi. "Wait," Kirishima pipes up, looking pleadingly at her. "Give me one more, please."
"Mr. Kirishima, I--"
"Please." Kirishima repeats. He chews on his lower lip as he sees the doctor contemplate granting him his plea. "We can stop after this last one, I just..." He exhales through his nose, looking down at his hands, which have sat settled in his lap. "...I just want to actually remember something on my own, not something I've been told by someone else."
Dr. Higurashi gave a small hum as she seemed to weigh her options, before closing her eyes and exhaling. "One final question for the night, Mr. Kirishima. Then we'll see how you're feeling tomorrow, alright?"
Kirishima gave a small smile, nodding in agreeance. "Yes, ma'am!"
There was a moment's pause in between them, Bakugo taking the time to pull away from Kirishima then and step back a couple paces, before Dr. Higurashi spoke again. "Can you tell me your current marital status?"
A pout forms on Kirishima's lips at the question, his brows furrowing in thought as he tries to force himself to remember once more. "I..." A frustrated groan escapes him as he curls his hands into fists, the action drawing his eye to his left hand. He relaxed his hands then, lifting his left up some. "I don't... think I'm married." He hated how unsure he sounded. "Its dumb, but I feel like if I was, even with my quirk and being a pro hero, I'd have a ring or something on me somewhere?" He opened and closed his hand twice for good measure, his pout morphing into a sad smile. "So yeah, I don't think I'm married." His mind wanders back to the memory of those kids, hurt and crying while he was slumped on the ground next to them, battered and broken. "Honestly? I'm probably single. I'm a pro hero, and I couldn't even reassure those kids that they'd be ok." A dry, humorless laugh left his lips. "Who'd want to be with someone... someone weak like me?"
He heard the garbled, strangled sounding noise coming from Bakugo in the corner of the room, looking over as the blond began to walk out of the room, an unreadable look on his face. A pang of disappointment tinged Kirishima's heart as he heard his room's door open, the faint sound of Mina's surprised-sounding voice questioning, "Blasty?" before the door closed. His chest felt tight, and he felt... guilty, almost.
But why 'guilty'?
Dr. Higurashi looked concerned as she glanced towards the door, her mouth opening for a brief moment before closing again, her gaze returning to Kirishima. "...Could you clarify that for me, Mr. Kirishima?"
It takes Kirishima a moment to respond, his gaze still trained on the door, as though he was trying to will Bakugo walking back in. But nonetheless, Kirishima looks to Dr. Higurashi, and asks, "Clarify what?"
"What kids do you say you failed to reassure?" She asks in response, trailing around from the foot of Kirishima's hospital bed to the side Mina had previously been on, taking the seat she had been in.
Kirishima blinked, before gasping slightly. "Oh! I recalled it earlier, before Mina got you. I think I remembered how I got here?"
And so Kirishima explained from as early as he could remember, from the sounds of the children coughing and whimpering in that room, to Bakugo calling out for him as he slipped into darkness. When questioned what triggered the memory, he further explained that Mina had been crying about how worried she and Bakugo were about him, about how scared she was, that his mind was racing because he wanted to comfort her, help her, and that she'd mentioned him helping some kids earlier in their conversation, that his mind kind of... compared the situations, to help her like he'd supposedly helped some kids, and that the memory just kind of clicked then.
"I don't remember what the villain looked like, what their quirk was." Kirishima supplies, continuing the rather long ramble that Dr. Higurashi has allowed him to go on. "And I can't describe what those kids fully looked like? I just remember the red shoe that caught my eye, their injuries, their tears..." He exhales to steady himself, decently surprised that he was able to prevent himself from tearing up at recalling it all. "And Bakugo... Mina said our agencies had us working together, that we'd work together at U.A., and I think we worked together well? But my attention was caught by those kids, and then I look back and he's knocked into some of the debris, and when I wake up here, he's in a hospital gown and bandages too? I..." Kirishima's unable to prevent his voice from cracking, the mental image of Bakugo's worried and fearful expression playing in his mind. "I think I made him cry...?" He uses the back of one of his hands to gently rub at one of his eyes, his gaze looking to the second hospital bed in the room that he'd noticed earlier, behind where Bakugo had previously been slumped next to him.
"What you've recalled does align with what Dynamight reported to both medical personnel and authorities," Came Dr. Higurashi's gentle voice, causing Kirishima to look back in her direction, watching as she flipped through a couple of pages on her clipboard, "as well as statements from both the children. Additionally, the arm wound you mentioned seeing on one of the children--"
"So those kids got out safe?" Kirishima interrupted, his eyes wide. There's also the lingering question of who 'Dynamight' was, but the mention of Dr. Higurashi having talked to those kids, having seen those kids, took forefront on his current priority list. "They made it to the hospital?"
The doctor nodded at that, relief flooding through Kirishima's system. "Yes, they did. That arm wound honestly looked worse than it actually was, and we were able to patch them up right away, as well as treating both children with oxygen to ensure their lungs were clear of the smoke and soot in the air." She placed a kind hand on Kirishima's shoulder then. "Please take comfort in the fact that you did good, Mr. Kirishima. You were a hero to those children, and were able to keep them safe."
A shaky breath left Kirishima at that, wiping his face down with one hand as he nodded. "I will. Thank you."
Dr. Higurashi pulled her hand away at that, her smile becoming slightly more stern as she looked back at her clipboard. "From this initial, simple, un-intrusive examination, it would appear you have post-traumatic amnesia, but due to the nature of your hero work, the stress your mind and body can both be constantly put under, as well as your known past traumas, I would be remiss if I didn't also consider dissociative amnesia as well. Post-traumatic amnesia is explanatory in and of itself, and is most common after significant head injury, like what you suffered through while fighting that villain. That being said, dissociative amnesia is linked to both traumatic and intensely stressful events. Be it being in combat from war or hero work, built up traumas, or abuse of any kind: mental, emotional, physical, sexual. Additionally, 'stress' doesn't inherently refer to physical stress. It could apply to stress in personal relationships, in your home life, financial stress, or even stress about your job. Being a hero isn't just public appearances and fights with villains, after all. You also have the internal workings of the Hero Association, be it paperwork, mentoring young work studies, or anything else few and far in between."
Placing her clipboard on her lap, Dr. Higurashi looked towards Kirishima once more. "Simply put, your memory loss could simply be the result of the blunt force trauma you received, or it could be the result of stress and traumas that have built up over time, and the blow to your head was simply the straw that broke the camel's back. However, the fact that you were able to recall all that information is promising regardless of the prognosis. And while I don't like that you recalled such information during a moment of emotional duress for your friend, its a hopeful sign that this likely isn't a permanent affliction for you." With an exhale, Dr. Higurashi stood from the chair, beginning to walk back towards the foot of Kirishima's hospital bed. "Tomorrow, we'll run a few more in-depth tests on you, and I'll go over your injuries in more detail with you then, so as not to overwhelm your right now. For now, I'll leave you to Mr. Bakugo and Ms. Ashido's company. Visiting hours are almost over for the night, so I wouldn't want to rob you of your time with Ms. Ashido." Leaning down slightly, she left the clipboard inside a small box at the foot of Kirishima's bed, before nodding. "Is there anything else you'd like to tell me or ask of me before I send them in?"
Kirishima blinked as he processed her words, frowning slightly before nodding at her. "I... I think I remembered something else, something earlier, when Mina was talking with me. But... I don't think it relates to how I got here?"
The doctor's head tilted slightly at that. "Oh?"
"I remembered..." Kirishima's hands curled into gentle fists, a hum escaping him before he continued. "I remembered feeling worried? Anxious? But desperate. I can't fully remember where I was or when it was, but I could hear someone's voice. Then my own, yelling. Then the next thing I know, Bakugo's hand is in mine, and it's... relieving." His fists tighten then, wishing Bakugo was in the room to help fill in the missing gaps.
"Can you recall what all was said?"
He nods. "The voice I can't place simply said: 'It has to be you.' And then I hear myself yelling out: 'Come on.'"
There's no look of recognition on Dr. Higurashi's face, from what Kirishima can tell, simply intrigue as she pulls the clipboard up once more, beginning to write in it again. "Tell me, was there emotional duress that proceeded this flash of a memory too?"
"Kinda?" Kirishima sighs, one of his fists relaxing so that he could rub the back of his neck with that hand. "Bakugo was asleep, and Mina had been talking loud enough to kinda stir him? So she quieted down, and I'd asked what his name was, cuz she'd just called him 'Blasty' before. She seemed sad that I couldn't remember his name, couldn't remember him, so she listed off some nicknames he goes by, and when I couldn't remember, I guess I started crying out of frustration. She hugged me, and then told me his name, and then when I turned to look at him, I saw his hand holding mine and it... came to me."
Dr. Higurashi says nothing, simply nodding as she continues scribbling down notes on the clipboard. It makes Kirishima feel a little uneasy, honestly, but when she puts the clipboard back down, there's a fond smile on her face. "Thank you for sharing this information with me. It seems as though it wasn't emotional duress that helped you recall that, but rather the knowledge of his name and the sight of your hands conjoined. Unfortunately, I can't tell you what significance this fragment of memory holds for you, as it's presumably from a different case than the one that landed you in the hospital in the first place, or something that's happened in your personal, private life. While I would advise you taking it easy for tonight, and not trying to force yourself to remember too much at once for fear of the mental, emotional, and psychological repercussions it might have, perhaps maybe sharing that information with Mr. Bakugo himself might provide a little clarity for you."
Kirishima opens his mouth to reply, but closes it quickly upon realizing he doesn't exactly know what to say. Instead, he simply nods. "Yes ma'am. Thank you."
The doctor nods in response and turns to head out of the room, leaving Kirishima alone for the first time since waking up.
_____________________
The sound of his room's door opening causes Kirishima to open his eyes in response. He blinks the world back into focus, unsure of exactly at what point he'd drifted off, but the clock that had read half past seven when he'd woken up now reads a quarter past nine. A groan leaves him as he uses a hand to rub the sleep out of his eyes, pausing only when he sees Bakugo staring back at him, frozen mid-step, akin to a child that had been caught stealing out of the cookie jar.
A weird bundle of nerves begins to gather inside of Kirishima as he eyes lock onto Bakugo's, and he slowly lowers his hand from his face, looking directly at the blond. "...Hey."
Bakugo exhales, looking away from Kirishima's gaze then. "...Hey."
An awkward silence settles between them, before Bakugo relaxes somewhat, folding his arms, and glancing back to Kirishima, looking over him once. "...Sorry 'bout wakin' you up."
Kirishima blinks at that, before holding his hands up. "It's all good, man, no harm done." He watches as Bakugo's gaze shifts again, the blond looking over towards the other bed in the room, before looking towards the chair he'd previously been sitting in instead. A scoff leaves Bakugo before he moves to the seat, sitting by Kirishima's bedside once again. His arms are folded against his chest, and he props his feet up on the edge of Kirishima's bed, lowering his head somewhat, chin resting against his chest as his eyes close. Again, there's an awkward silence, causing Kirishima to chew on his lower lip slightly. "...You're not gonna fall asleep there, are you? That might not be good for your wounds, dude."
Bakugo opens an eye then. "...You want me to fuck off to bed?"
Tensing slightly at his words, Kirishima blanches a bit, and swallows. "I didn't say that!" His hands fly back up in surrender, trying to show he meant no ill will. "If you wanna sit here and like, talk or something, that's totally cool, dude! I just don't want you to fall asleep in a weird position and wake up in pain or something! That'd be really unmanly of me to just let you... do..." Kirishima falters then, blinking as he lowers his hands, a frown taking place on his lips as he looks down at them. Why had he defaulted to the word 'unmanly'? He could have said anything; 'Inconsiderate', 'Rude', 'Asshole-ish' even. So why 'Unmanly'?
And why did it come so naturally?
Upon realizing Bakugo hasn't said anything in this mini-freak out moment, Kirishima looks up from his hands over to the blond, whose red eyes are wide. There's a look akin to hope on Bakugo's face before he seems to register Kirishima is looking at him, and that look is quickly replaced by a strange type of hesitancy, an unease as Bakugo seems to think about what he wants to say next. However, nothing seems to come out.
Kirishima looks over Bakugo once, before looking at the clock. "...I guess visiting hours are over?" He asks, a sad smile tugging at his lips. "Dr. Higurashi said they'd be over soon." It'd explain why Mina hadn't come back yet, despite the doctor's attempt to give her more time before visiting hours ended.
"Would you rather Raccoon Eyes be here, instead?" Bakugo asks, causing Kirishima to look back at him. While the blond's words seemed harsh, there was something in his voice that sounded unsure, almost hesitant.
For a brief moment, he mentally compared navigating talking to Bakugo like navigating a minefield, an explosion waiting to go off. But while the strange association of 'explosion' and 'Bakugo' seemed to slot together smoothly in his head, he felt guilty about the comparison. Navigating a minefield was a task seen as treacherous, absolutely unpleasant in every way, shape, and form. That didn't feel like it fit with Bakugo at all. Maybe... a mouse in a maze instead? Mazes were a thought-inducing task, but there were no negative connotations to them, right? Minefields were about life or death; Mazes were about reaching a goal. Currently, Kirishima himself was the mouse, traversing conversation with Bakugo was the maze... so was feeling more at ease the cheese at the end of goal? Feeling more secure? There was something more there, something just out of grasp that he couldn't place.
"I mean, Mina was nice," He answers after taking a moment to remember that Bakugo had called Mina 'Raccoon Eyes' earlier, "and she's apparently my best friend? Or one of my best friends, but she claims seniority? But I don't think I'd rather her be here than you." Though to be honest with himself, Kirishima didn't like that Bakugo was hurt and in the hospital like he was. At the same time, he didn't really want to be alone either. "Why do you call her that anyway?"
Bakugo grunted, shifting in his seat slightly, crossing one leg over the other. "... Doc said you remembered the fight." It wasn't a question, Kirishima noted, but there was something about the way Bakugo said it that seemed almost like... like he was testing the waters?
"Kinda, yeah." Kirishima nodded, looking back down. "I don't remember everything; It picks up for me noticing those kids for the first time, hearing them and turning to look at them."
"...What's the last thing you remember?"
There's something in Bakugo's voice that Kirishima can't quite place, can't quite name. He would put thought into trying to decipher it, but he can't help the sudden tightness in his chest, the sudden influx of emotions he feels as he recalls the blond's frantic, tear-stained face in his mind's eye. The feeling of warm hands holding him, forcing Kirishima to look up at him. The immediate shift from fear and desperation at thinking the villain was coming for the kids, to unmitigated relief upon realizing it was Katsuki, Katsuki, not the villain.
Kirishima opens his mouth, intending to say something along the lines of 'Honestly? You, Bakugo.' but pauses when he replays those last moments in his head again. His brows furrow as he remembers the tumultuous typhoon of emotions as he thought the villain was approaching him and the children, how he initially wanted to fight against those hands on him, the way he was able to relax when he saw it was... Katsuki. How Katsuki's lips moved, how Katsuki's words were falling on deaf ears. How relieved he was it was Katsuki, not the villain. How he wanted to say or do something to ease the frantic look on Katsuki's face. How after he'd coughed up blood Katsuki tensed. His vision darkening as all he sees is Katsuki's lips moving. The world going silent after hearing Katsuki scream "Eijirou!".
His mind replays that fragment of a memory, again hears the stranger's voice say: "It has to be you." Again hears himself scream, desperate: "Come on!" He looks at Bakugo then, and there must be some kinda look on his face, because Bakugo is sitting up now, his feet pulled off the edge of Kirishima's bed, his head upright as he looks at Kirishima, his face trying to remain stoic, but there's a belying concern in his gaze.
"Eijirou?"
That sudden tightness in Kirishima's chest constricts further at Bakugo's voice, and he can't tear his gaze away from the blond. His hands are trembling. Why is it always 'Katsuki' in these memories, not 'Bakugo'? There's something there. Kirishima can't place it. Its right there, but its not. Whatever it is, it's wanting to burst out - but he doesn't know how to let it. Like an wild animal in a trap, it's fighting, thrashing against the confines, desperate, desperate, desperate.
"Ever since you met him," The stranger's voice is back, "You've built a solid relationship with Kacchan, as equals." Why does he inherently know the stranger's talking about Katsuki? "If it's you that calls to him... He'll listen!"
"Shit, Ei, I-- Fuck, I shouldn't have--"
Kirishima's body moves before he can think.
His arm is outstretched towards Bakugo, hand trembling violently. The desperation is still tempestuous inside him, the tears burning in his eyes. He wants the blond's hand in his, needs it. Why? There's significance behind it. But he can't place it. Come on.
Bakugo's hand unwaiveringly clasps onto his, gripping tight. There's no hesitancy, no trace of unsure emotions as he stares Kirishima down. His lips are drawn tight, but not in a way that denotes anger or irritation. But the blond's gaze is intense. It's like he's trying to get a message across without speaking, trying to project it from his mind into Kirishima's. Kirishima's gaze falters under the pressure, and he looks to their hands, reflexively tightening his grip on Bakugo.
And he sees it.
There's two people, each on one side of him. The cold is biting at his skin, the rushing wind amplifying the dropped temperature, but he doesn't care, he'd freeze a thousand times over if it meant saving Katsuki. He's in the air, along with the people hanging off his sides. He whips his head around, his gaze narrowing in on Katsuki, who looks like an ant from this perspective. But even with the distance, their gazes lock and he throws his arm out and screams, "Come on!". And Katsuki does. He's blasting through the air, aiming straight for him. His hand slams into his, and Katsuki breaks out into a grin Kirishima can only describe as feral, eyes wide a mix of fear and relief and amusement and trust. And Katsuki speaks through his smile, his voice clear, even above the rushing wind around them. "You idiot!"
The tears are trailing down Kirishima's face now, but he's composed enough to say, "You're safe." He looks up at Bakugo in time to see the blond's jaw tighten slightly, and nod in response.
"I'm safe." His voice is gruff, but soft. It's comforting. Red eyes never leave him as Bakugo repeats back, "You're safe."
Something about the way he says that causes Kirishima to inhale sharply, as little flashes play in his head. Katsuki's there with him. They're both younger. They're in a dorm. Neighbors? Late night. Shared beds. Curled up next to one another. His bed one night. "You're safe," He says. Nightmares. Katsuki's breathing erracticly. "I'm safe," Katsuki exhales. His bed another night. More nightmares. "You're safe." He says again. Katsuki reaches for his hand. "I'm safe," Katsuki replies. Katsuki's bed now. New nightmares. He's the one trembling this time, he's the one unable to breathe properly. "You made it, Eijirou. You helped Fat." Katsuki murmurs. Foreheads pressed together. "You're safe." The mental image of a flurry of punches, of a man in a yellow hoodie suffering. "You're safe." Reassurance. Fingers dig into the back of Katsuki's shirt. "I'm safe," he replies shakily. Katsuki shifts. They're reaching for each others' hands. "I'm safe."
"I..." Kirishima's voice trembles, and he swallows. "I'm... safe."
The reaction from them both is instant. For Bakugo, it's like the tension in his strings have snapped, and he finally allows himself to breathe, his shoulders slumping slightly, his eyes closing momentarily, but his hand never waivers in its grip of Kirishima's. For Kirishima, it feels as though a door has been opened, and Katsuki's waiting for him on the other side. Like a dam has burst, cracking under the pressure built up inside. His grip too, never waivers.
"I'm safe." Kirishima repeats again, reassurance and support and comfort and trust and an amalgamation of so many different feelings bubbling up from inside of him. It's almost overwhelming, the tears pouring down his face seemingly endless in their flow. "I'm safe, Katsuki."
He hears Bakugo mutter a soft 'fuck' under his breath, before the blond gets up from his chair, sliding into the hospital bed next to Kirishima, never letting go of his hand the entire time. Kirishima doesn't hesitate to slide to one side of the bed to give Bakugo some room, the two of them barely able to fit on the single bed together. Neither seems to mind though, as Bakugo gets under the covers, their bodies slotting next to each other damn near perfectly, and only once they've settled do they let go of each others' hands. Bakugo's quick to clutch onto the front of Kirishima's hospital gown, and press his head against his shoulder, and as Kirishima looks down, he notices the subtle shake of Bakugo's shoulders, notices the hushed sniffles, the attempts to steady his breathing. Kirishima wastes no time in wrapping his arms around the other male, rubbing one hand up and down his back reassuringly.
Bakugo seems to settle after a few moments, and unlike the awkward silences that happened previously, this one is far more tolerable, comfortable, almost.
Resting his chin atop Bakugo's head, Kirishima speaks. "...What are we, exactly?" His voice is gentle, and while his hand has ceased rubbing Bakugo's back, both his thumbs brush circles at his shoulder blades. "You're... important. I know that. You feel safe, comforting. Like home." Bakugo huffs a laugh, and Kirishima can feel the reverberations from the action under his hands. "But you're more than that, aren't you? Honestly, if you had asked me like, 10 minutes ago, I woulda said we were like, cousins or something, but--"
"Cousins?!" Bakugo rears his head back, and for a moment, Kirishima fears someone has switched out the Bakugo from moments ago with a demon or something with how angrily flabberghasted he looks. "Your dumb ass fucking thought we were cousins?!"
Kirishima raises his hands then, laughing awkwardly as Bakugo glares up at him. "Mina was talking to me about best friends, but mentioned some people named Sero and Kaminari, not you! She only mentioned you after! And the doctor only kicked out Mina when she said she only wanted family in the room! And we both have red eyes, apparently! I'm sorry, its not like--"
"Augh, shut up!" Bakugo groaned, leaning up to knock his forehead against Kirishima's. "Goddamnit, Eijirou, I'd ask you to remind me why I love your dumb ass, but you wouldn't know how to answer, would you?"
Love. Kirishima's eyes go wide at the spoken word, and that something inside of them that was wanting to get out - regardless of the semi-sated state it'd fallen into after the two curled up next to each other - feels like it'd finally been freed. Like a bird let loose from it's cage, Kirishima's heart fluttered in his chest, his mouth tearing into a wide, toothy grin.
Bakugo watches as the pieces seem to fall into place for Kirishima, and grins himself. "We're engaged, idiot. You fuckin' proposed to me several months ago, even though we agreed neither one of us would make any big purchases because we're trying to save for our own Hero Agency. But you went behind my back and surprised me, not lettin' me be the one to fuckin' propose because you're a sentimental bastard."
Kirishima can't help the way a warmth blooms in his chest, upon his face. He can't suppress the laugh that bubbles out of him, gently pressing his forehead against Bakugo's as the blond rolls his eyes with a smirk. "For all those angry sounding words, I'm guessing you weren't that upset," Kirishima manages to get out in between breaths of laughter, "since you apparently said yes."
With a 'tch!', Bakugo moved one of his hands to shove Kirishima's face away from him, though there was no real force behind the action, and he moreso just smooshed Kirishima's face than actually pushed him away. "Real snarky talk, comin' from someone who can't remember in the first place." There was a brief moment where Kirishima tensed at Bakugo's words, feeling guilty that the blond was right; That he couldn't remember proposing in the first place. He realized Bakugo must have noticed, because the hand that had been smooshing his face twitched, before pulling back some. "Fuck, Ei, I--"
A sad smile tugged at Kirishima's lips then, and he moved one of his hands from Bakugo's back to grab at the hand that Bakugo had been pulling away. He heard Bakugo's breath hitch as they hands slipped into one anothers' easily, and as Kirishima pulled them towards his lips, brushing his lips gently against Bakugo's knuckles. He looked up at Bakugo upon hearing the blond exhale, red eyes meeting red. "It's fine, Katsuki." Everytime he said the blond's name, it was like his heart would skip a beat. It felt good, felt right, felt so much more natural than simply 'Bakugo'. "You'll help me remember, won't you?"
Bakugo's eyes go wide at that, before his brows furrow and a look of fierce determination burns brightly in his expression. "What kind of fucking question is that?" He half-growls, before lowering their hands from Kirishima's face and quickly crashing their lips together. Kirishima's suprised at the action, but finds himself easily falling into it, as Bakugo secures his grip in Kirishima's, holding onto it like a lifeline, and moves his free hand to hold the back of Kirishima's neck. Kissing Bakugo is like saying the blond's given name; it feels right. Feels like home.
But Kirishima's quick to pick up on the desperation in the kiss, on an urgency, an insistency that begins to set a worried flame alight in his gut. He breaks the kiss and opens his eyes, slightly breathless as his gaze falls upon Bakugo's face.
Katsuki's crying.
Its not a body wracking sob like Kirishima himself had been letting out earlier, it's calm and silent, aside from the faint trembling Bakugo seems to be attempting to suppress and the small tears slowly making their way out of closed eyes. Kirishima's quick to let go of Bakugo's hand to instead cup the side of his face, his thumb brushing away the tears that fall near it. "Katsuki?"
Bakugo leans into the touch, but his lips curl in on themselves, and he shakes his head slightly. He breathes out of his nose, quiet for a few seconds before speaking. "... I thought I fuckin' lost you, Eijirou." His voice is soft, so goddamn soft. It's soft and vulnerable-sounding and shaky and everything in Kirishima's brain is saying is not very Katsuki. Bakugo's eyes open then, and Kirishima's stomach churns at the desperation that's hidden behind a forced mask of faux intimidation. "If you ever put me through the same hell that the past damn near 36 hours have been ever again, I'll fuckin' kill you myself, got it?"
Kirishima finds himself nodding, lips wobbling as he recalls the memory of Katsuki yelling out his name as he passed out in the blond's arms, of the tears the blond shed, the twisted, tense expression he wore. He recalls Mina's words about how badly he was injured, about how long he was in surgery, about how Katsuki was apparently a mess the whole time. How he'd apparently been unconscious for over 24 hours. Kirishima shifts then, the movement awkward as he pulls his other arm out from under Bakugo, but he's quick to place that hand on the other side of Bakugo's face. "Katsuki..." Kirishima leans in, presses their lips together gently for a brief moment before pulling away, though Bakugo's quick to chases after him, insistent on another peck of a kiss, and another, and another. Kirishima eventually pulls away though, if only slightly. "I'm not going anywhere."
"Every fucking time I'd close my eyes, I'd see you coughing up blood in my arms." Bakugo's eyes are closed again, his head shaking slightly from side to side as he spoke. "I'd see you pass out, you going fucking limp in my fucking arms, and--" He cuts himself off, brows furrowing as his nose scrunched. "I shoulda noticed those kids before then, shouldn'ta let that damn villain catch me off guard, shouldn'ta--"
"Katsuki--"
"They said you had a goddamn seizure in the operating room." Bakugo's breathing has become somewhat ragged by this point, and the hand of his that Kirishima had previously been holding moves up to grab one of Kirishima's wrists. "They said that if it wasn't for the fact that your hardening had at least managed to reach the base of your neck, then the impact mighta fuckin'--"
Bakugo's cut off by Kirishima's lips pressing against his, gentle in their empathetic insistence. Whatever words the blond was going to say died in his throat as he kissed Kirishima back, grip on his wrist tight. Upon feeling Kirishima's thumbs brush away at his gradually slowing tears, Bakugo pulled away, cursing softly under his breath, nudging his forehead against Kirishima's as he opens his eyes. "Eijirou, I--"
"Tell me tomorrow." Kirishima murmurs softly, shaking his head ever so slightly. "Dr. Higurashi said she'd tell me about my injuries and stuff tomorrow after a few more tests, so tell me then. For now..." He pulls his hands away then, using his arm to wrap back around Bakugo, hugging him close, "I just wanna lay here, holding you."
A huff of a laugh escapes Bakugo then, and he pulls his head away from Kirishima, slotting it instead snugly on Kirishima's shoulder, his temple pressing against Kirishima's neck. He stays silent though, a notion Kirishima doesn't argue or press against, and the two fall into an eased state, tangled up in each other. There's a brief thought in Kirishima's head of 'The hospital staff would probably prefer Katsuki be in his own bed', but 1) Kirishima doesn't want the blond to leave his arms, and 2) he figures should totally be fine since they're engaged, right?
One of Kirishima's hands moves upwards to the back of Bakugo's head, threading his fingers through the other male's hair. He hears a hum of contentment leave Bakugo, and smiles to himself, leaning the side of his head against the blond's. After a moment, Kirishima speaks. "... Hey, Katsuki?" A grunt of acknowledgement is all the response he gets from Bakugo, but its half-hearted, and Kirishima can't tell if Bakugo's even fully awake or not. Regardless, he continues. "If one good thing came out of this," he says with soft smile, "its that I get to fall in love with you all over again."
Bakugo tenses in Kirishima's hold, and pulls away from his spot to look at fiancé. There's a vibrant flush of color spread along his cheeks, all the way to the tips of his ears, and his expression is contorted into a flustered mess, though its apparent he's actively trying to keep it schooled and steely. Its enough to jar Kirishima just a slight bit, and he opens his mouth to say something, but Bakugo beats him to the punch.
"You absolute bastard." He says, the corners of his lips fighting against the urge to curl upwards in amusement. "You sentimental-ass motherfucker." He's visibly losing the fight, shaking his head as his body trembles, though whether its out of amusement or frustration, Kirishima can't fully tell. "You fucking--" Bakugo finally gives in to the urge to laugh, the sound soft and in the back of his throat. "I can't believe you."
Kirishima finds there's a bright smile tugging at his own lips, and soon he's laughing as well, the two of them tangled up in each other, in their own little bubble of comfort, if only for the time being.
"I can't believe I love your dumb ass." Bakugo groans through a smile, shaking his head before nuzzling back into his previous position, pressing a kiss to Kirishima's neck. Kirishima just laughs, and pulls the covers up on them a little more, snuggling up against both the bed and Bakugo. He wants to stay up longer, wants to spend more time talking with Katsuki, holding and feeling and experiencing Katsuki, wants to prolong the inevitablility of the morning's coming, of the solemn seriousness that's going to come with the beginning of his road to recovery.
But he knows one thing.
He trusts Katsuki to be there with him every step of the way. He trusts Katsuki to always have a hand out for him, to help him when he needs it. He might not have his memories, but there is one thing he's absolutely sure of. His trust... his faith in Katsuki? It's solid, it's steadfast, it's resolute.
It's unbreakable.
It's unwaivering.

Prelude IV: Relight
Post-Surgery: DAY ONE
[Sean sits in the hospital bed, legs crossed, staring into space when he hears a familiar voice.]
Joey: Sean, Sean Diaz? Well damn. I never thought I’d see your sorry ass again!
Sean: Geez Joey. Is that how you talk to all your patients?
Joey: Just the ones I like.
[Sean chuckles]
Joey: C’mere big man.
[Joey gives Sean a big bear hug]
Sean: How’ve you been Joey?
Joey: Can’t complain. These days, they got me up in hospice care. You’re probably the first person I’ve seen today that didn’t need their bedpans changed.
Sean: Sounds terrible.
Joey: It’s all not all bad. Lot of these folks have stories that you wouldn’t believe. One of my patients has lived through five wars and two depressions, tells me I’m a credit to my race.
Sean: Yeesh.
Joey: (shrugs) She means well. It’s almost flattering compared to some of the stuff I’ve heard. Been on this job almost ten years now, some people still treat me like I have no idea what I’m doing.
Sean: That sucks Joey.
Joey: Yeah... Anyway, you seem to be doing pretty well for yourself. From what I heard, this procedure cost a small fortune. You must have friends in high places.
Sean: Yeah, something like that.
Joey: And no guard at the door this time. I assume everything got cleared up with the police? Not planning to make a break for it again are ya?
Sean: Nah, no daring escapes this time.
Joey: Good. I don’t think I’d survive another blow to the head.
Sean: Listen Joey I’m really sorry-
Joey: (laughs) Relax Sean! I’m just messing with you! It’s ancient history as far as I’m concerned. Say, did you ever end up finding that brother of yours?
Sean: Yeah. He’s actually coming to visit me tomorrow.
Joey: Can’t wait to meet him!
Sean: Famous last words.
Joey: So… what you been up to these days?
Sean: Mostly just cramming for the SATs, drawing, listening to music. Normal teenage shit.
Joey: That’s good to hear. I was worried about you man. You went AWOL after the hospital. I got police and Feds breathing down my neck for weeks. Then a month later, I hear about a couple of kids trying the border to Mexico on the news.
Sean: Sorry I never reached out. I just didn’t want to get you more involved than you already were-
Joey: You made the right call. They questioned me for hours. My apartment was filled with G-men, my girlfriend was freaked. I honestly thought she was going to dump my ass.
Sean: I’m really sorry Joey.
Joey: Don’t sweat it Sean, it was for a good cause. Besides, everything worked out in the end.
Sean: Yeah I noticed, how long have you been-
Joey: Almost a year now. We’re expecting our first baby in the summer.
Sean: Congratulations dude!
Joey: Thanks, but honestly, I’m kinda nervous, don’t think I’m ready to be a father.
Sean: You’ll be a great dad, Joey. You’re awesome at taking care of people.
Joey: You’re damn right. Speaking of which, we should probably take a look at that eye of yours.
[Joey takes off the bandage and gives Sean’s eye a thorough examination]
Joey: Well it looks a helluva lot better than the last time I saw it.
Sean: That’s good to hear. I wasn’t sure it would work.
Joey: Well it’s too early to say if your vision will fully recover. But at the very least you won’t have to walk around with a patch anymore.
Sean: Good. It’s hard enough finding a prom date let alone one that’s willing to go with a pirate.
Joey: Still with the pirate jokes huh? Hopefully, you’ll have to write some new material after this.
[Joey applies a new bandage on Sean’s eye]
Joey: And you’re all set. Now as much as I love our talks, I gotta make my rounds. Buzz me if you need me.
Sean: Later Joey.
Joey: See ya tomorrow Sean.
[Joey leaves the room. Sean turns to look out the window. The door shoots open, and a small figure comes bursting in.]
Daniel: Sean!
[He jumps onto the bed and into Sean’s arms]
Stephen: (out-of-breath) Sorry, I tried to stop him, but he outran me.
Sean: You okay Stephen?
Stephen: I am… just need a minute to catch my breath. The old ticker ain’t what it used to be- I need to sit down.
Daniel: Take it easy grandpa.
Sean: What are you doing here, enano? I wasn’t expecting you guys until tomorrow.
Daniel: I made grandpa book an earlier flight. I just couldn’t wait!
[he hugs Sean again]
Sean: Haha easy. I just had surgery, remember?
Daniel: Oh right, s-sorry.
[There’s a brief flash, followed by a shutter click]
Sean: What’re you doing, gramps?
Stephen: Oh nothing, just commemorating the moment. Thanks to your brother, I finally got the hang of this newfangled smartphone camera.
Daniel (whispering): He had it stuck on selfie mode for days. Anyway, did it go? Is your eye…
Sean: I mean… it’s not 100% yet but I can sort of see again.
Daniel: T-that’s awesome! Can I see it?
Sean: Dude last time I showed you my eye, you almost cried. Besides, the doctors say I still need to keep the bandage on for a bit, while it heals.
Daniel: Right. That makes sense. Oooh this room looks cool. Do they have Netflix or a Playbox?
Sean: It’s a hospital, dude.
Daniel: Lame.
Sean: So catch me up. Did I miss anything interesting at home?
Daniel: Nah… Chris is still on that fishing trip with his dad so there’s no one to hang out with. Oh I almost forgot. He made you this card. Isn’t it awesome?
[Daniel gives Sean a hand-drawn “get-well-soon” card from Chris]
Sean: Yeah. It’s pretty cool. We can have Claire put it up when we get back.
Daniel: Grandma’s still in that feud with the lady from church.
Sean: Which one was that again?
Daniel: Agnes, the one who gives off major Lisbeth-vibes. She says grandma stole her casserole recipe for the church bake-sale. Lying bitch.
Stephen: Language!
Sean: Maybe one of us should try to smooth things over before it gets nasty.
Stephen: Hell hath no fury… lemme tell ya. I’ve been married to your grandmother long enough to know once that woman sets her mind on something… there’s no stopping her. Best to just let things run their course.
Sean: Claire can get a little… passionate sometimes. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen her lose her temper for real.
Stephen: There’s a fire in that woman. It’s part of the reason I married her. Just pray she never turns it on you. I hope I’ll never live to see that day, god willing.
[Sean notices Daniel circling the hospital bed, pressing his hand on various parts of the mattress]
Sean: (laughs) What are you doing, enano?
Daniel: Just trying to figure which side of the bed I want to sleep on tonight.
Sean: Dude. There’s no way this bed’s gonna fit both of us.
Daniel: The one in Mom’s trailer was way smaller!
Sean: Yeah well… you were a lot smaller back then.
Stephen: They have a nice area for visitors down the hall.
Daniel: But I want to stay with Sean!
Sean: I guess I could ask Joey to bring in a couch or something.
Daniel: Who’s Joey?
Sean: The nurse who took care of me after the accident. I told you about him, remember?
Daniel: Oh right! I can’t wait to meet him!
 DAY TWO
Joey: How are we doing today? Any headaches, dizziness, socket pain?
Sean: Nah it’s all good. Still getting used to having depth perception again. It’s kinda weird.
Joey: You’ll get used to it. Anything else to report?
Sean: Nothing major. I’ve just been having some really weird dreams.
Joey: We have a psychiatrist on-site if you need a professional to talk to.
Sean: Nah it’s alright, probably just the drugs messing with my brain.
Joey: Well your vitals look good. We’ll go over some basic tests. You know the drill.
(Sean covers his right eye and tries to read the chart. Joey then shines a light and asks him to follow along. Finally, he asks Sean to put the cap back on the pen.)
Joey: You passed with flying colors. The doctor will be in for a final exam tomorrow and then we can discharge you.
Sean: (sarcastically) Too bad, I was ready to become the first Mexican pirate to attend college. So much for being a trailblazer.
Joey: Good to see you haven’t lost that snarky-ass sense of humor.
Joey: Anyway, I’m taking my lunch now. Want me to get you anything from the cafeteria? Wait… don’t tell me. Chocolate pecan?
Sean: You know it.
Joey: I met your brother in the hall. Cute kid.
Sean: (deadpans) Give it a few days. Then see if you get a “second opinion.”
Joey: He does seem a little… “energetic”. But that’s normal for kids his age.
Sean: Yeah one minute I’m his favorite person in the world. The next, he’s off doing God knows what, and doesn’t want me “bossing him around”. You know how it is.
Joey: Can’t say I do. Grew up in a house with three older sisters. Guess I must have been the annoying one. Daniel’s lucky to have you looking out for him. Must be tough sometimes.
Sean: Oh you have no idea.
[Joey claps Sean’s shoulder, he feels a jolt shooting up his spine, everything goes white]
(Sean sees a door marked: “Miranda A. Connolly, Hospital Director”)
Connolly: You’ve been a valuable asset to this hospital. Stellar feedback from all of your patients and attendings.
Joey: I sense a “but” coming.
Connolly: But, given the dubious circumstances surrounding your transfer and your past involvement with the law. The Board thinks it might be better for one of the other nurses to take this spot.
Joey: Please. I’ve got a kid on the way. We just bought our first house. Can you at least consider bumping up my pay? I haven’t gotten a real raise since I started here. There are kids coming out of nursing school that make what I make!
Connolly: The hospital has limited resources as it is, and the State just slashed our funding again. I just can’t justify raising anyone’s salary right now.
Joey: I break my back for this hospital, work extra shifts, get to know the patients. You promised me at the annual review that I’d-
Connolly: That was before this new information came to light. I’m sorry Joseph, maybe next year.
[Sean snaps out of his trance]
Joey: Sean? Sean are you okay?
Sean: Sorry, Guess I spaced out. Must just be the medication.
Joey: I can have the doctor come by and adjust your dosage.
Sean: I’m fine Joey. I swear. Weren’t you about to take lunch?
Joey: Oh right. We’ll pick this up later.
[Joey leaves the room, looking slightly puzzled.]
Sean: (thinking) W-what what was that? A dream? But It felt so… real.
[Sean takes out his phone and enters the name of the hospital, He finds their website. Under the ‘About’ section he scrolls to the Executive team bio. There is a photo of the woman he saw in the vision followed by a small blurb]
“Miranda A. Connolly is the President and Chief Director of Mt. Cedar General Hospital. She was appointed back in 2016 as Associate Director and has since made ground-breaking changes to the field of medicine and medical care. Under her leadership, this hospital was able to expand greatly, hiring new diverse staff members and vastly improving quality of care for all its patients.”
Sean: (thinking) Holy shit… it’s real. Does that mean I…?
Daniel: Hey Sean! What you looking at?
Sean: Dude! Don’t sneak up on me like that!
Daniel: I wasn’t sneaking. I was practicing my stealth!
Sean: Yeah sure.
Daniel: Are you looking at the new Playbox Pro? My birthday is right around the corner you know.
Sean: Birthday? It’s still January!
Daniel: Never too early to start preparing.
Sean: (rolling eyes) Yeah cuz everything’s always about you.
Daniel: Oooh I bet you were watching those dirty videos again. I’m tellin’ grandpa!
Sean: Hey hands off my phone you little-
[Daniel tries to grab Sean’s phone. Sean wrests his hand away. There is another a jolt]
[Daniel stands in front of the vending machine, staring at the jumbo chock-o-crisp. He looks around to check that the coast is clear. Then he waves his hand causing the chock-o-crisp to fall off the rack and into the dispenser slot.He gleefully retrieves it and devours the candy bar in a matter of seconds]
Sean: Dude, I told you not to eat any more chock-o-crisps! Do you want another trip to the dentist?
Daniel: What are you talking about? I haven’t had one in weeks!
Sean: Yeah sure. So you didn’t pig out at the vending machine before coming in here?
Daniel: How did you-
Sean: Maybe I have magic powers or maybe… you’ve still got crumbs on your collar.
Daniel: Aw, damn it. Promise you won’t tell grandpa.
Sean: Oh so you can tell on me but I can’t tell on you?
Daniel: (smugly) Exactly.
Sean: C’mere ya little shit!
Daniel: Sean stop! Ha that tickles. Quit it!
(After their little bout, Daniel curls up next to Sean, resting his head on Sean’s lap. Sean ruffles Daniel’s hair absentmindedly)
Sean: You ever wish you were… you know “normal” again?
Daniel: You mean not have my powers? Nah. They’re a part of me now. Besides, being normal is overrated.
Sean: (chuckles) I guess it is. But do you ever get that feeling like you thought you wanted something for a really long time but when you finally get it, it nothing like you thought it’d be?
Daniel: Uhhh… you mean like how I begged grandma to get me a PlayBox Live Subscription, but then the exclusives turned out to be shit? And now I have to act like I love it?
Sean: Yeah something like that.
Daniel: (yawns) Meh I’ll just ask for a gaming PC for my birthday.
Sean: Dude you’re like the greediest ten year-old I know.
Daniel: How many ten year-olds do you know?
Sean: Uh… just you and Chris.
Daniel: So, you want me to be more like Chris?
Sean: Wouldn’t hurt.
Daniel: (imitating Chris) “Only the purest of hearts may wield the power of Captain Spirit!”
Sean: Guess that rules you out.
Daniel: (playfully) Shut up.
DAY THREE
Doctor: Okay Mr.Diaz. I want you to follow the light. Look to your right, up and to the right. Good, good, excellent pupil response.  Now look at the chart, cover your right eye and read this line.
Sean: Uh… A, O, E, P… T? Sorry I can’t really make out the last one.
Doctor: That’s okay, it takes time.
Doctor: Now this is probably the last thing you want to hear, but I recommend that you wear a patch over your right eye. It’ll be temporary of course, just until you learn to see with your left eye again.
Sean: (laughs dryly) And here I thought my seafaring days were behind me.
Doctor: You know… pirate actually wore patches so their eyes could easily adjust to the darkness and see below deck- Sorry my son’s going through a pirate phase.
Sean: I know the feeling. My little brother’s been through every phase imaginable.
Doctor: Kids, you gotta treasure every moment. Because before you know it, they’ll be all grown up, ready to go off on their own. Look at me, rambling on. Anyway, I signed your discharged papers. They’ll schedule you for some outpatient care in the coming months. You’re almost ready to go.
Sean: Sounds good.
Doctor: And you’re sure you don’t want to get do something about that nasty scar? A good-looking kid like you, it would be a shame to-
Sean: That’s okay, I think I’ll keep it… as a reminder.
Doctor: Alright but if you ever change your mind, I could refer you to a great plastic surgeon.
Sean: Thanks Doc, for everything.
Doctor: The pleasure’s all mine, Mr.Diaz. The groundwork we laid here could help hundreds of other patients in the future. We are making history. Your nurse should be along in a moment to help you get discharged.
[Sean sits in quiet contemplation. Reflecting on his dreams and new “vision”]
Sean (thinking): Be careful what you wish for...
Joey: Looks like everything’s good to go. Remember to use your eye-drops-
Sean: Twice a day. Yeah Joey, I know.
Joey: Guess it’s goodbye again. Don’t be a stranger this time okay?
Sean: I won’t.
Joey: Here’s my number. Call me if ever need professional advice or just want to shoot the shit.
Sean: Thanks Joey. Let me know how everything goes with the baby.
Joey: Oh don’t you worry about that. Soon I’ll be blowing up your phone with pictures.
Sean: Haha can’t wait.
Joey: Now hospital policy says I gotta wheel your ass outta here. For liability reasons.
Sean: At least it’ll be a smoother exit than last time.
Joey: (laughs) Get in the chair smart-ass.
Beaver Creek, One Week Later
Sean: Okay, you ready?
Daniel: (takes deep breath) Alright. Show it to me.
Sean: So… how does it look?
Daniel: Looks… normal.
Sean: You almost sound disappointed. Were you expecting a bionic eye or something?
Daniel: No. I just… it looks good. I like the scar; makes you look extra tough.
Sean: You think so?
Daniel: Yeah… totally badass!
Sean: Thanks, enano.
Daniel: You need a new codename, like Scarred Wolf or Deadshot Diaz!
Sean: Let’s leave the nicknames up to Chris.
Daniel: Hey! I make up awesome names too!
Sean: Whatever you say,“Superwolf”

Warnings: None
Pairing: George Weasley x reader (feminine)
Words: 1k
If you’d like to request something please head over to my other blog, https://www.tumblr.com/blog/ronaldandremuslover and I’ll try and fix it for you !
~ ~ ~ ~
Soft music was playing in the background. The setting was warm and the burning candles gave a pale light. The street outside was dark and only faintly lit up by the tall lampposts. It was a clear evening and the stars shone brilliantly overhead.
The restaurant was nearly empty but muffled voices were heard. Food was being delivered by sweaty waiters to the tables around you, and you would look with envy at people who dug into their hot dishes.
George, who's sitting in front of you would smile brightly every time your eyes would land on his. He wore a white shirt which he had lazily tucked into his black trousers. He smelled of shampoo and cologne and his fiery red hair was just as usual: messy.
"I can't believe muggles can do all of this without magic." He said quietly with a face of disbelief.
"Well, there are more people in the kitchen then you think, but yeah, it's hard work."
He nodded distantly and continued to look the way that the kitchen was located.
"Do you know what you want to order, George?" You said, hoping to pull him out of his trance.
He looked bewildered for a second but quickly shrugged it off. "Oh, Uhm, no actually. Let's check." He reached for the black incased menu laying on your table.
You reached the second one and examined it. Baby shrimps with veggies and rice caught your eye and you decided that that would hit the spot. But George didn't look as content as you were: his brows were furrowed and his eyes went from left to right within seconds. It made you smile heartedly. Being muggle-born had its advantages when it came to these sorts of things.
He sighed and looked up from the, seemingly confusing, menu. "Merlin, I mean, I've eaten lasagna before but what the hell is 'som tam'?"
You giggled and reached for your glass of wine that you've ordered beforehand. "I'm pretty sure that's a Thai dish."
"What're you having? Might go for the same."  He, too, put the menu back down and reached for his wineglass.
"Mmm, a simple baby shrimps with veggies and rice plate. Nothing too extra."
Snapping his fingers, he said, "Ah, I'm going for that too. I've had shrimps before. Quite tasty."
An easygoing and pleasant conversation rolled between you two. It was easy to make conversation with George. He always had something to say if it went quiet for too long. He talked about how he had always wanted a joke shop and how happy he was at the moment. You revealed how your parents reacted when they found out you were a witch.
The food arrived and George seemed to approve.
"Oh my god. This is amazing." He said as he took a big forkful of rice.
You had lost times on how many times you've giggled throughout the evening, but you were pretty sure you had set a new world record.
"No, really, I was delighted when I saw my Patronus for the first time." You said.
He wiped his mouth on a white napkin and took a sip of the second glass of wine. "Me too, probably one of my favourite spells."
Nodding you said, "Same here. It makes me happy to see it running 'round."
"What do you think of when you conjure it?" He asked, leaning forwards on the table and resting his chin on his knuckles.
"Well, my go-to thought is when I found out I was a witch." You felt how your cheeks heated up and you quickly shook your head. "I know it's lame and that I have a dozen of other memories that makes me unbelievably happy, but just finding out that there wasn't anything wrong with me and that I wasn't some sort of freak made me so incredibly happy."
A fond smile spread over his lips and he reached for your hand, stroking it with his thumb. "I think that's a lovely memory."
*
After you've finished your food and let it melt, you went outside into the cold night. You reached for your pocket instinctively to make sure that your wand is still with you.
You walked very close to each other, your shoulders bumping together. He was a lot taller than you and his black coat made him look even taller and lankier. His hand was shoved in his pocket and you wondered how he would react if you grabbed it.
Both of you knew that the date was coming to an end but it seemed as George was as keen as you to keep it going.
"Well, this has been a lovely night. Thank you." You said shyly.
The two of you had stopped on an empty street. All of the shops are closed and the apartment windows were dark.
He smiled at you, "Yes, it has. I would love to do this again sometime." And even though he sounded calm and composed, you heard that he sounded nervous.
Returning his warm and kind smile you said, "I would love to as well. I had a great time."
He nodded slowly, and for the first time tonight, he looked shy.
"Will you be able to get home safely from here?" He asked.
"Oh, yeah. I'll just apparate home from here."
"Of course."
It went quiet. You stood there looking at each other. It wasn't an awkward silence, it was more like an understanding of what would happen next.
His eyes were kind and he reached for your hand. "Would you mind if I kissed you?" His voice was barely audible but you knew what he had just said.
"Yes."
And the next second, his lips met yours. He had to bend down quite far and you tried to help by standing on your toes. A soft hand reached your cheek and you wondered if he could feel how hard you were blushing.
It had lasted longer than you thought it would, but it was still over far too soon. Your lips felt lonely without his and your cheek felt cold without his big hand.
His smile was confident and satisfied this time. "Well, Y/N, I can't wait to do that next time again."
And for the umpteenth time this night, you giggled.

"Are we boring you, Queens?"
Peter's head snapped up quickly, discreetly turning his phone off underneath the meeting table. "Um-huh? No no no, Mr. Rogers I'm listening. Sorry."
Steve shook his head and continued to speak as he pointed to the pictures on the screen at the end of the room. All of the Avengers of Earth were there, some half asleep, while the others either joked or listened intently.
In two short days, they were going to be taking back powerful tech that Martin Li(aka: Mr. Negative)'s "demons" had stolen from Stark Industries. A simple "get in and get out".
They'd known this plan for some days now, yet Steve insisted on calling meetings to go over it again and again.
Feeling a quick vibration go off in his hand, Peter instinctively looked back down at his phone to see a snapchat text notification from you.
~~~
crackhead [y/n]: According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible🐝...
~~~
Peter shook his head slightly as he chuckled, a smile shamelessly creeping onto his face.
~~~
sci-fi boi: did you really just quote the bee movie at me???😂😂
~~~
"Hey spidey-boy, would you mind sharing to the class what's so hilarious?" Rhodey's voice rang out loud and clear from across the table.
Quick as lightning, Peter turned his phone off and buried it in between his thighs, realizing that he hadn't been as quiet as he'd thought. To his luck, everyone’s eyes were trained on him now.
“It's n-nothing!” Peter squeaked, his voice breaking embarassingly. He shoved his phone into his pocket in fear of someone snatching it from him.
Natasha rolled her eyes and smirked. "So what're you looking at down there?"
"I-i, uh, I was just um, w-watching a funny- very funny video actually-"
"C'mon guys!," Sam laughed, clapping his hands together. "Don't tease the kid. We all know what he was smiling at down there!"
At that, Peter practically choked. "WHAT?!"
Tony snickered. "Personally, I don't think two inches is something to be proud of, but alright."
Peter's eyes widen, nearly falling out of his skull by the looks of it. "I-it's not two inches a-and I wasn't looking at-!"
"Jesus christ, guys..." Bruce sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "He was obviously just doing something on his phone. Leave the poor guy alone."
Peter coughed as he saw Steve glare at him with that infamous 'Im Captain America and Im judging you' glare. Phones weren't allowed in the meeting room. Well, they weren't supposed to be. No one ever really followed that rule except Peter. But he'd already been so deep in his conversation with you that he just couldn't put his phone down. "No no, um, I wasn't.. I was just zoning out, y'know, and I just happened to be looking-"
"-at your phone?," Steve cut in to ask.
"-at your dick," Rhodey stated at the same time.
"-at porn," Tony said with an all-knowing smile, causing everyone at the table to turn towards either him or Peter, whose face was beet red with embarrassment.
"Peter please tell us you weren't watching porn," Scott begged, his jaw completely dropped. "I mean, no judgment but-"
"Full judgement, actually," Clint corrected, an extremely disturbed look on his face. "Seriously, what were you doing, kid? You gotta tell us now with all these assumptions being thrown around."
"Curious," Thor stated, leaning back in his chair. "What is porn?"
"Something that I definitely WAS NOT watching!," Peter responded as he practically slammed his face into the table and slapped his hands over his eyes. "Does it even matter what I was doing anyway?," he mumbled into the table.
Natasha raised an eyebrow, blowing the smoke off of her coffee. "People usually aren't this defensive when they're telling the truth, Peter."
Peter shrunk into his seat with a loud groan. Can I die. Can I please just die. Like why am I seriously even alive right now??? Some bad guy please just burst through the door and maim me please.
"F.R.I.D.A.Y. pull up Parker's phone," Tony commanded once the commotion in the room died down.
Peter quickly lifted his head. "Wait, what?!"
"Accessing Peter Parker's mobile device, sir," F.R.I.D.A.Y. responded. "Would you like for me to transfer the screen to the meeting board?"
Tony looked back with a laugh to see a frozen, slack-jawed Peter. He turned back around. "Yeah sure, F.R.I.D.A.Y., what the heck let's have fun."
"No wait- are you seriously hacking into my phone right now?!"
"Well why're you so tense, Parker?," Sam asked teasingly. "Thought you had nothing to hide?"
"I-i don't!," he stammered. "I-it's just..." he trailed off, looking for the right words to say. "..that's my private property," he said lamely while staring at the wall.
Tony stared back at him. "Well that's the dumbest excuse I've ever heard." He pointed towards the board. "Alright it's coming up."
Scott closed his eyes. "Oh God, please don't be porn.."
Peter rolled his eyes. Everyone else looked to the large board, fully expecting to see either porn or just some stupid game the boy had been playing.
But none of them expected him to be texting a girl.
~~~
crackhead [y/n]: hey u still there?
~~~
"Who's crackhead [Y/N]?," Natasha asked.
Scott turned to Rhodes who was sitting on the side of him. "Is that some trashy porn star?," he whispered.
"Why're you asking me like I know?"
"It's this girl from school.." Peter answered, blushing profusely.
"And you like her," Natasha noted, watching his body language intently.
The boy's eyes widened. "N-no I don't!"
"Why crackhead though?," Rhodey asked, crinkling his nose.
Peter shrugged. "That's what she wanted her name to be," here responded. "Thought it was funny."
Steve rolled his eyes. "Just like you thought 'sci-fi boi' was funny?" Shaking his head, he changed focused. "Guys, are we gonna get back to work or not?"
"Not," Tony answered as he scrolled up all the way to the beginning of the messages from early that morning. "So, you've been texting this girl today off and on since..." He checked the time. "Five in the morning?"
Clint chuckled. "Oh yeah, huge crush."
“No!” Peter protested, his voice an octave too high. Realizing that it isn’t working, he decided to try a different technique. Clearing his throat, he tried to sound and act as nonchalant as possible. “She’s just a friend from school.”
"She's first on your best friends list, even over that computer kid you practically live with. And you and her practically snap each other nonstop."
Peter scratched his nose. "W-well that's only cuz Ned doesn't like to text much."
Bruce took his glasses off and sighed, realizing there was no way this meeting was getting back on topic. "Look Pete," he said. "Friends don't do that. I've seen it all before. If you and this girl are talking on a daily basis all throughout the day starting at five in the morning?" He titled his head in a suggestive way, though Peter stared back at him blankly.
"What?," Peter asked.
"Oh my God, kid," Bruce sighed.
Tony held his head back and laughed. "It means either she likes you and your just too dense, you like her but won't admit it and she's just concerningly nice, or you both like each other and just won't make your moves!"
Sam, who hadn't lifted his eyes from the board the entire time, spoke up. "And judging by these texts, you already got her, it's just not official yet."
Tony kept scrolling. "You two went to winter formal together?"
"Yeah... but as friends," Peter said with a shrug.
Steve cleared his throat loudly, gaining the attention of everyone in the room at once. He looked at Peter who was doing everything here could not to look him in the eye. "Look, as much as I would love to talk about Peter's sad love life, we have a mission-"
"-that will still be there tomorrow, Cap," Bucky finished for him. "C'mon we've been going over this stuff for hours. Let us have this distraction."
Everyone looked to him, Tony feigning a puppy dog expression. Crossing his arms, he left the room. "Fine, but when someone gets hurt because they didn't know where they were supposed to go, don't blame me."
"...literally no one's ever blaming you, man," Sam said.
Suddenly, the screen lit up and F.R.I.D.A.Y. spoke. "Sir, Peter Parker has a new message."
Everyone looked to the board. "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh. Scroll down, Mr. Stark. Scroll down!," Peter yelled frantically. "What's she saying?"
Natasha smirked. "And you're sure you don't like her, Peter?"
His face flushed. "Okay fine...I might have a tiny crush-"
"I'm sorry I can't hear you," Tony cut in. "Can you say that agai-"
"-I SAID YEAH I REALLY LIKE THIS GIRL!," Peter finally yelled with his eyes squeezed shut. He kept them closed for about twenty seconds afterwards, afraid of the judging faces he would see if he opened them.
He carefully opened his eyes to see all of the avengers (minus Cap) staring back at him with stupid smiles and smirks on their faces.
"Well, that's all I needed to hear," Tony said. He clapped his hands together. "Okay everybody, first order of business, checking the text. Sam, you're our reader."
"Got it."
"What?," Peter yelled, reaching for his phone. Tony dodged him and gave it to Sam. "Mr. Stark, I can text a girl on my own. I don't need help."
"Nat, you're our timer. Make sure none of the responses take longer than a minute. We don't want the girl to get bored and go on to something else."
"Check."
"Mr. Stark, c'mon-"
"Sam, you explain stuff to lightning head over here if he doesn't understand it. This could be learning moment for ole Shakespeare. Thor, you listen to Sam."
"Right."
"On it."
"Everyone else, you're with me. We gotta find the perfect thing to say to this girl. I've got a feeling this is probably the only chance he's gonna have to get a girl in a long time."
Rhodes, Scott, Clint, Bruce, and Wanda looked to each other and nodded.
"And Pete?"
Peter raised his head. "Yes sir?"
"You know this girl more than anybody here does, so you tell us if what we say is appropriate for her or not."
Peter rolled his eyes and nodded. After all, what's the worst that can happen?
Tony pointed to Sam. "Okay, read it."
~~~
crackhead [y/n]: u going to flash's party on saturday??
~~~
"She wants to know if the kid's going to some party Saturday."
Tony turned to the boy. "You're going," her demanded.
Flash was the most popular douchebag in school. Totally rich and totally rude and totally determined to use his every breath to spite Peter. "I wasn't even invited," Peter mumbled, shooting a glare towards Sam when he heard him laughing.
"Well get invited," Tony ordered. "A party is the perfect place to make a move. Send yes."
~~~
sci-fi boi: yes
~~~
"Mr. Stark, how am I supposed to get into this party? Flash hates me! And if I crash it and Flash sees me, he's gonna make sure everyone thinks I'm a loser!"
Tony rolled his eyes and sighed. "Peter we're trying to help you here. Figure that part out on your own."
Peter sighed, leaning forward in his chair. The last thing he wanted was another assignment, even if it wasn't actually an assignment. On the plus side, he'd get to see you, and maybe have some fun if he actually tried to enjoy himself.
~~~
crackhead [y/n]: cool so i guess ill go too
~~~
Rhodey chuckled while shaking his head. "Kid, if you don't ask this chick out the second you see her again, I'm gonna bodyslam you."
Peter frowned. "What do you mean?"
Bruce smiled. "Whether or not she went to the party was depending on if you were going," he pointed out.
"This girl used to be like that with me back in college," Scott said with a shrug. "Thought she liked me. Turned out she just had social anxiety..."
"Yeah you're really not helping this, bugman," Tony said.
"Wait, you guys think [Y/N] actually likes me back?," Peter asked, getting groans and laughs in return.
"Where have you been the last few minutes?," Natasha said.
"We've literally been saying that this entire time," Sam deadpanned.
Peter stared at his feet below the table. If the team was right, and you did actually like him back, then the movie marathon he was planning was the perfect excuse to hang out with you. "I-i think I might have a plan!," he rushed out, his head flying up. He pointed to Sam. "Ask her if she's free tonight!"
"Yes!," Thor yelled, his fists pumped into the air. "The spider child has grown his man balls!"
"Now that's what I'm talking about." Sam nodded approvingly as he texted.
~~~
sci-fi: r u free tonight??😉
~~~
"Wait hold on," Peter said, suddenly rushing towards the phone in a frantic manner. "Why is there a winking emoji?! I didn't say anything about a winking emoji!"
Sam raised an eyebrow. "I thought you were flirti-"
Peter groaned. "Delete it, man. Delete it before her bitmoji pops up!"
"Okay okay, dang kid," Sam chuckled, quickly deleting the text and replacing it with one without a winking emoji. "There. And ya girl didn't even see it."
"Hey guys," Scott said. "I know we're all freaking out and stuff. But honestly, I'm just glad he wasn't watching porn." He shrugged. "So no matter what happens with this girl, today's still an absolute win."
It went on like this for a solid thirty minutes.
~~~
crackhead [y/n]: yeah wassup
sci-fi boi: wanna come over and watch movies?
crackhead [y/n]: sure what're we watching
sci-fi boi: we can decide that when u get here. how about 4??
crackhead [y/n]: alright sure
~~~
"Okay, last thing," Tony said. "We need a sly compliment. Something not that special about her, but enough to show her that you're tuned in. Gets them every time, trust me."
Natasha rolled her eyes. "Wow, lady-killer."
Tony pointed towards her and shrugged. "She said it, not me."
Thor looked to Peter. "So, young spider. What have you observed about your darling love?"
Peter blushed, almost wanting to comment on the Thor's word choice but ultimately deciding not to. "Well, um, her eyes light up a lot when she gets excited and it's really dorky in a cute kind of way I guess," he mumbled, scratching his head.
"Alright I got it," Sam said, typing the words in. He lifted his shoulders into a shrug. "Who knows, kid? There be some hope for you."
~~~
sci-fi boi: btw how do you get ur eyes to sparkle so bright when u get happy about stuff? Just thinking about it lol its cute
~~~
-
Peter blew out a shaky breath as he looked back over the set-up he'd made in the living room.
He'd cleared out space to build a super huge homemade blanket fort and inside it at the end was his tv. Towards the middle were all of pillows he could find inside the house and at the other end were snacks. All around the inside were fairy lights because he knew you liked them, though personally he found them cliche.
He spent about an hour on the whole set and an additional thirty minutes stressing over and making sure everything was safe (with all three fairy lights and tv cords). The last thing he needed was for the both of you to catch on fire while watching the movie.
The two of you were going to be watching Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (or as normal 'not-nerds' like to call it, "the first one"). Of course, he hadn't told the team that. If they'd known what movie he'd planned on showing her, high chances are they wouldn't have even let him out of Avengers tower. But if Peter was gonna be forced to hang out with someone (not that he was really complaining), he would at least pick the film.
Finally checking all the boxes in his head for the night, Peter went to go check the DVD before he heard your knock at the door.
"Coming!," he yelled, quickly chucking the disc into the DVD player. He ran to the door and opened it with an awkward smile. "Uh, hey [Y/N]."
"Hey," you said back, already sort of blushing. "How's it going?"
Peter stared. Are your eyebrows done or are they just naturally that nice? He found his voice after abruptly noticing that he was staring. "Uh-well. It's been going great! How's it going for y-you also as well?" He frowned. "I-i mean, what's been going on with your life lately? No, that's dumb. I meant-"
"Peter, Peter! Calm down, dude," you giggled. "I've been fine."
"Oh," he chuckled. "That's good... d-do you wanna come in?"
"Question. What're we watching, Peter?," you asked, a smile playing on your face. Considering what you remembered from the last time you were at his house, and the fort you could get a peek of from the doorframe, you figured it was special for the nerdy boy. Plus his shirt had Yoda on it.
Freakin' Star Wars.
Immediately, a wide grin spread across his face. "Remember what you promised me we'd watch?"
You rolled your eyes, stepping past him into his living room. "Yeah yeah, whatever. Time to get nerdy I guess."
"Come on, you'll love it,"Peter said, quickly closing the door behind them and then briskly running towards the fort to hold up the side blankets for you. "So, snacks and drinks are beside us. We'll chill on these blankets here. And...um, yeah. That's about it." After stepping outside for a bit to go turn off the lights(for the full "movie theater" experience), Peter laid down on his belly, reaching for the DVD player to press play.
You watched as he fumbled with the wires, making sure the DVD player was plugged in before turning it on. Has your jawline always been that sharp?
You couldn't quite place it, but his texts from before seemed.. weird. But not a bad weird at all. A good, intriguing weird.
And that compliment was pretty nice, but odd for Peter. Sure, he complimented you often, but it just felt different this time. Usually it'd be something like, "new dress?" or "nice shoes". But never "you're eyes sparkle when you get excited." Heck, you didn't even know that about you. Was he paying attention? Did that mean he-
You remember how he acted about Liz Allen and Michelle Jones. Always staring. Never able to even say a full sentence in front of them without stuttering up a storm.
But he was so comfortable about you for the most part. You were just a friend.
"Okay got it," Peter said, laughing excitedly as the screen in front of him lit up. He scooted back to where you were sat. "Prepare to have your mind blown."
The Fort quickly became dark as the Lucasfilm logo shined on the screen.
"I seriously dou-"
"Shhh!," he cut you off. "Wait for it..."
You gave him a look but joined him in his silence to see what he was waiting for.
BUMMMMM buh buh bummmm
Practically jumping on top of him, you flinched at the loud and sudden music. "Crap dude! Turn it down!"
Peter shook his head, reaching for a soda. "You have to get the full effect, [Y/N]!," he laughed. "Just embrace it." He began to sing with the music and mime crazy gestures as if he were directing an orchestra.
Duh duh duh DUH DUHHHHHHHH
Halfway through he stopped and recited the opening crawl, his eyes glued to the screen with a sort of focus that made you sure that not only was this not foreign to him, he probably did this every other week.
"It is a period of civil war," he mumbled, throwing some popcorn into his mouth. "Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic- [Y/N] you have to watch the words, I swear it'll make the whole experience better." It went on for a little while longer until he paused the movie and looked over at you, cowering a bit. "D-do I have something on my face?"
"Huh? Nah you're good," you said, realizing he'd noticed you staring. "It's just-" you remembered his text from earlier. "-you got really excited... It-um..it was cute."
Because of the darkness(the only lighting being from the tv), you couldn't see if Peter blushed or not, but you could clearly see the stupid grin plastered on his face that he was trying to hide from you with his hand. Repeatedly licking his lips as a desperate attempt to stop smiling as he pressed play on the remote control. "A-ah, um, thanks [Y/N]."
The opening crawl was over and soon the movie actually began, showing a huge spaceship.
"That's the imperial star destroyer," Peter whispered, never taking his eyes off the screen. "They belong to the empire." He saw your blank expression, wide eyes as he realized that meant nothing to you. "Uh, the bad guys."
You squinted your eyes at the screen, silently judging the graphics of the energy blasts- space bullets?- or whatever they were supposed to be. "Pete, when was this movie made?"
"1977."
"Oh okay," you said, deciding to give it some leeway for the trash designs.
You scooted a little closer to your friend, figuring you'd get a little bit more comfortable.
Oh how he wished you hadn't done that.
Nothing like actual, physical contact with a girl that you like and you think she might like you back to actually manage to distract you from one of your favorite movies ever.
He froze, not wanting to pull away and offend you, but definitely not wanting to stay because just being this close to you was making his mind run wild.
Does she actually like me back? What if Mr. Stark and the team only said that to get me to make a fool of myself? She's too comfortable with me. She just sees me as a friend. Or maybe she likes me and she's just really chill about it? Ooh my gosh and she's leaning on me right now. What am I 'sposed to do?? I don't know I don't know I don't know!!!!!!!!!
Deciding for a quick compromise, he got up completely to reach for another soda, though his sprite was still half finished. When he sat back down, he wasn't as close. Hopefully, you'd just see it as natural human behaviour and not him wanting to be away from you.
Course you would see it that way, wouldn't you?
"Oh my gosh I recognize someone! That's R2D2, right?!" You pointed wildly, glad to not be completely clueless for once with this nerd crap.
"Yeah that's R2," Peter responded, letting out a secret sigh of relief, thankful for the distraction.
"A-and that's that gold dude!"
"Yeah, C-3PO."
"And oh crap that's Princess Leia!," you shouted. "Fucking feminist icon!"
Peter tilted his head. "Wait, how would you know that if you've never watched this?"
You laughed. "I still have access to the internet, doofus! Scroll down the nerdy feminist side of tumblr and Leia is literally everywhere."
Peter chuckled as he finally finished his sprite. "Okay. Valid."
Since that, you stopped talking for a bit. Part of you actually did figure that since you're here, you might as well actually try to enjoy the movie and maybe find out what the fans actually see in it that makes them like it so much. The other part just really didn't want to annoy Peter while he was watching his favorite movie series.
But sometimes you just have to say something.
"Hold up, wait. Isn't that his sister? Oh my God, Pete I swear somebody told me before that Leia was Luke's twin!"
Peter shrugged while nodding. "Well, that's a bit of a spoiler, but yeah. What about it?"
"Oh my gosh, Pete- what about it?! Dude, he's literally making 'fuck me' eyes at his own sister! He's all like, 'ooh you're so sexy I'm gonna bone you all over the galaxy'. That's freaky!"
You grabbed the remote and began to rewind it.
"C'mon now [Y/N]," he explained. "He didn't call her sexy. He said she was beautiful. Sexy is wayyy different from beautiful. You can think your family members are beautiful can't you?"
You paused it once you got to where you wanted.
"Okay Parker, look at that. Look at that and tell me Lukes's not totally undressing her with his eyes!" You pointed at Peter's face with a goofy smile on yours. "Oh wow, I've finally figured you people out now."
Peter's head cocked to the side. "Figured out what?"
"Star Wars nerds are a bunch of horny kids that like that step-sibling porn stuff but can't watch that in front of their parents so they have to use an alternative!"
Peter fell on his back with laughter, practically rolling around like a pig. "[Y/N], what?!"
You gave him an incredulous look. "Who else likes to see two siblings bang each other, Peter?!"
At that he pointed back at you while picking up his other soda. "To be fair, they never do that with each other. They only kiss, like twice and that's it. And one of them is only to make Han Solo mad."
"Oh yeah, I forgot about the Han Solo guy. Where is he anyway?"
Peter smiled. "Well, we're only twenty mintues in. He'll come soon."
To tell the truth, Peter really didn't even know what part you were at. His eyes were watching the screen but nothing was being comprehended. The only thing he could manage to think about was all the tiny things that were going on over on your side of the fort. Did you notice him staring? Was Tony right and you were just concerningly nice?
"I love how everybody at this bar is so chill south everything that's happening. It's like oh wow this guy just shot this green dude at table 8 and nope we totally don't care," you joked, pulling Peter out of his trance. He reminded himself that he should probably try to pay more attention. He didn't want to ruin the movie for you in case you had any questions.
But eventually, like all things do, the movie came to an end.
"So, how'd you like it?," Peter said while neither one of you made a move to leave the dark fort. You were laid out in practically a starfish-type position while he was sitting Indian-style.
You smirked. "I'll admit, it was pretty nice for a movie made in 1977. Still a bit lame though," you teased, pinching your fingers together with a giggle. Suddenly, you gasped. "Ooh, Vader was pretty lit though! Just straight force-choking people who disagree with you is such a power move."
Peter rolled his eyes and scoffed lightly. "Typical..."
"Excuse me?"
He bit back a quick smile. "Look, I'm not saying that Darth Vader isn't awesome. Because he is! Totally and completely but [Y/N], you do realize that in literally every movie we watch you like the villains?," he said, raising an eyebrow.
"Because the villains are awesome!," you defended.
"Just saying. I'm sensing a bit of a pattern...," he teased.
You scoffed. "This coming from the guy who actually feels bad about some the people crashing into things when we're watching Ridiculousness," you said, reminding in how Peter was forever the relentless sap. "Well, while you're so busy judging me, whose your favorite character?"
At that, he gave a small sincere smile. "Ben. He's really cool."
"Ben Kenobi? The old guy that literally let himself die? But why?"
He shrugged, the small grin still present on his face. "Eh, sentimental reasons..."
He watched you return his sweet smile and it was then and there when Peter really felt content with the night. Though, you hadn't even known the weight his words carried, he did. Ned was the only other person who knew about it. But Peter knew right then and there that if you had asked, he'd tell you. And he knew you'd understand. Maybe you were just nice. Or maybe you did like him back. But in that moment, Peter didn't care. He just wanted to be here with you. Lost in the warm smell of popcorn and your vanilla perfume, watching a Star Wars movie with Uncle Ben surely smiling down from Heaven. And it gave Peter hope that maybe, just maybe, this was a step in the right direction.
2 hours (and five minutes) down. 22 hours (and forty seven mintues) to go...

Part V - 5 Days
Tumblr media
You hadn’t slept well in days now.
Your wrists had ached long after he released the knots of his tie, the discomfort a constant reminder of that afternoon and everything it represented. If your night in his bed had felt like surrender, that afternoon felt like the ultimate submission. He seemed unbearably pleased with himself when you both dropped to his desktop, exhausted, sticky, and heaving for breath.
But the fallout from that encounter had been equally as disturbing.
Even through the humiliation of answering his questions and the mind-numbing pulse of pleasure, you didn’t forget that he had sacrificed a meeting to be with you, offering you your first glimpse at a timeline.
“Believe me, this time next week - it won’t matter.”
Of course, you could figure out the implications. It wouldn’t matter because the world as everyone knew it would...would just...cease to exist? Change? Upend? You didn’t have an accurate word for what he would do.
But that wasn’t the worst part - the worst part was waiting. And continuing to wait. And now…? Now, two weeks had passed since he uttered that statement. Had something happened? Did you miss his great revolution? Had someone betrayed him? You didn’t understand, and you didn’t dare ask.
And, to make things worse - five days had also passed since Sebastian Barnes disappeared.
Honest-to-God disappeared. No one had heard from him. His flat was pristine, undisturbed. His car parked in its assigned spot. The office security cameras recorded him leaving and his car pulling away, but after that…well. It was anyone’s guess and the police had no leads. Simmons had been doing a decent job serving as interim Head of IT, but he couldn’t wait for his boss to return.
You didn’t dare ask Conrad about him, either. But of course, you suspected him. Between binding your wrists and his innovative use of cufflinks, he made clear his displeasure over Barnes’ treatment of you. Sure, Conrad was hellbent on world domination, but was he really the type of man to make men disappear? To murder?
A chill ran down your spine as you glanced to Conrad’s closed double doors. It made sense that he’d have to get his hands dirty to achieve world domination. But did Sebastian Barnes really pose that much of a threat?
You took a sip of your coffee, trying to push your sleep-deprived thoughts aside and glancing at the clock. 6:46 am. Plenty of time to run through your inbox before starting on the day’s to-do’s. And you needed to be on your game today – you were attending a production strategy meeting in three hours. Sure, it was Barton’s department now, but you still watched it like a hawk, taking extra pride in its continual success.
You recognized the hissing hinge of Conrad’s doors, the click of the handle closing. It was second nature to glance up, offering a polite smile as you waited for his instruction or request.
Even now, it still amazed you how he looked flawless every day without end. Today’s suit was a sleek charcoal that reflected an almost dark navy under the office lighting. A pocket square matched the crisp, pristine white of his shirt. He approached your desk, smoothing the front of his jacket and fastening the front button. His gaze met yours, sharp and bright. “Time to go, darling.”
Time to go? Wasn’t the work day just starting? You shook your head, smile faltering. “I don’t understand, sir. Your first meeting isn’t until 9 am.”
“Time to leave this world behind.” The corner of his mouth curved. “Time to build anew.”
The words stunned you. This was actually it? Today was the day? Your heart leapt and your stomach lurched as you struggled to form a thought. “Today?”
“Right now, in fact. No time to waste.”
You glanced to your desk, numb. Did you grab your laptop or coffee? Perhaps purse and phone? What would be left to come back to after…well, after. You didn’t even have a clue where you were going.
“You needn’t worry about any of your things. You won’t need them.”
The surety of his voice unnerved you. And, yet, moved you to action. You pushed up from your seat, grabbing your coffee tumbler. You couldn’t handle this without more caffeine. He started in a brisk clip for the door, reaching to hold it open for you. You passed through without acknowledging the gesture, feeling his hand quickly fall to the small of your back, steering you through the maze of office corridors.
Eventually, you reached the south end of the main building and he pushed the button for the service elevator. You knew better than to ask, despite the rising tide of anxious nerves that threatened to reject your last drink of coffee. Instead, you took a deep breath and another sip as he led you into the elevator confines.
He extracted a slim key from his pocket, inserting into a keyhole as he pressed the ‘LD’ button three times. A rather puzzling gesture. The loading dock was the lowest level for the service elevator, and only the employee elevators went the next two levels down to the parking garage.
His soft chuckle startled you as the key disappeared back into his suit. “You needn’t look so worried. Or, perhaps, it’s confusion? Either way, you’ll have your answers soon enough.”
You wanted to smart off. To tell him just how unhelpful that was. But you just swallowed another mouthful of coffee instead and told him what he surely wanted to hear. “Yes, sir.”
The elevator doors slid open to reveal…to reveal -
You nearly tripped over your feet, bowled over at the sight before you. The elevator had opened onto a platform overlooking a covered dock on the water of the city harbor that berthed a sharp, sleek submarine. A small group of people moved about, bustling ropes, hefting boxes, calling out actions. The forward most hatch on the bow was open and a box emblazoned with ‘Dole Bananas’ rested beside it, the yellow fruit bright in the glow of high-pressure sodium lights.
This had to be it. The Operation ‘Blue Sea’ submarine prototype. Sure, Conrad had continued to funnel funds into the project account, but it had never occurred to you that he was actually pursuing the submarine - outfitting it to be his…well, his hideout, his floating command center, his place to stage global change.
Conrad’s amused chuckle sounded low in your ear. “Close your mouth, my dear.” His hand fell again to the small of your back, a guiding gesture. “Can’t have you catching flies before we cast off.”
Your feet moved of their own accord down the metal stairs as he followed swiftly on your heels. “You can’t be serious…that – that is your plan? Surely, we’ll never make it out of the harbor.” You scrambled to recall what you knew of submarine films. “There have to be submarine nets...radar, sonar….”
“And I’m insulted you haven’t given my development team enough credit.” His voice carried just above the din of preparations. “Operation ‘Blue Sea’ was conceived with the sole purpose of developing a stealth, reconnaissance submarine befitting the modern technological age. And we’ve had four years to perfect it ever since the government decided it wasn’t a practical investment.”
You stared at the gleaming black hull, at the sail that rose to an intimidating height. Claustrophobia had never afflicted you before, but you’d never been on a submarine. Your head went light at the prospect of being confined in that tube beneath the crushing ocean depths.
He stopped short, turning towards you with a questioning gaze. “Your watch, please.”
Suddenly the weight of your LOKI smartwatch felt like lead as you held it up yet drew it protectively towards your chest. “What for?”
His nimble fingers reached for your wrist, efficiently undoing the clasp and pulling your watch free. It dropped to the metal with a clink before he brought the heel of a pristine oxford down on the watch face.
You jolted as it cracked under the blow, and again as he brought his heel down a second time. The screen winked to black and he stooped to retrieve it.
“No unauthorized GPS devices.” He tossed the damaged watch casually into the dark water of the submarine bay.
You sighed, overwhelmed at the situation. Lamely, you waved your metal, insulated coffee tumbler. “What about this? Maybe there’s a hidden GPS tracking device in here...”
He arched a brow, impossible to tell whether in displeasure or disbelief. Maybe both. “You’re welcome to keep it if you can climb ladders with only one hand.”
Your gaze stole up to the sail and the access ladder, watching a sailor scale up to the top. You knew what waited on the other side. Another ladder...one that led nowhere but inside.
Coffee wasn’t strong enough right now. You really needed tequila or bourbon.
Raising the tumbler to your lips, you downed the rest of the dark, bitter liquid. You chucked the empty tumbler aside, hearing the metal exterior connect with the metal decking. You licked the last drop from your lips. “Well, you said no time to waste.”
His eyes wrinkled with tells of amusement as the corners of his mouth pulled to a faint smirk. The tip of his tongue darted out to wet his lips as he lifted a hand gallantly towards the gangway. “Ladies first.”
You tried not to focus on the murky water as you stepped onto the serrated metal, gripping the handrails as you felt the gangway roll with the bobbing submarine. Conrad followed right behind you, raising one hand in a signaled gesture to the dock workers.
No turning back now.
The kitten heel of your pumps plinked off the hull as you navigated the unsteady surface to the sail ladder. With one hand in front of the other, you started to climb. Thank god you wore slacks today. A hand extended at the top of the ladder, and you accepted the sailor’s steadying grip as you stepped off. The gentle swaying motion of the submarine was far more pronounced at this height, and you hoped seasickness wouldn’t set in.
“After you, miss.” The sailor motioned down at the open hatch, an almost inviting glow emanating from it, offsetting the hull’s dark exterior.
Your gaze caught Conrad’s as you stepped onto the ladder. He looked so impossibly pleased that you wanted to punch him. Maybe you could try later.
Taking one step at a time, you descended into the calm buzzing activity below. You weren’t entirely sure what you expected of the interior - all you had to go on were Hollywood movies. But the control room was whitewashed clean, lined with some of the expected pipes and valving, but banks of sleek consoles and display screens dominated the space. A small uniformed crew hunched over stations, giving status reports to a central man who stood, coordinating the controlled chaos. No one paid you any mind as you stepped off the ladder, moving to one side.
You studied the openings in the bulkheads that extended both fore and aft, but you had no clue what lay in front or behind. Would you even have free reign of the submarine? Would you be treated as a guest? A prisoner?
Conrad stepped onto the landing beside you, and the groaning squeak of metal sounded above you. With a gasp, you looked up just in time to see the last vestiges of exterior light swallowed up by the black hatch, the watertight lock mechanism sealing into place.
“Lion and Fox secure.” The man - supposedly the captain - standing front and center called into his radio. “Prepare to set sail.”
Conrad stepped up to the man, conversing in low tones that you couldn’t quite make out. As best you could tell, the man took his orders from Conrad, of course.
“Very good, captain,” Conrad said louder, stepping back, “take us down and blackout mode, if you please.”
The captain opened a shipwide channel, sounding the order for dive preparations. The blaring of a klaxon horn made you jump as you stiffened, squeezing your eyes shut. You really didn’t want to know the minute the ship slipped beneath the waves - the thought of nothing but these walls between you and endless water….
“Darling, breathe,” Conrad’s gentle, soothing voice sounded in your ear, “in and out, slowly. Just breathe. You’re going to be alright.”
“Am I?” Your words rushed out. “We’re in a fucking prototype submarine. How do you know it’ll even work! How...how can we already be diving...we haven’t even left the dock - are you sure it’s deep enough-”
“Shh, now,” his arm wrapped around your waist, both in comfort and warning, “it won’t do for you to make a scene.” He tugged you along at his side, turning to the captain. “You know your course.”
You let yourself be pulled along through the forward bulkhead, leaving the steady buzz of the control room behind. A narrow corridor along the curved hull snaked along a collection of rooms that stretched to the hull’s other side. He opened the first door, guiding you in.
The room that greeted you looked so unassumingly ordinary. Half office, half living room - crisp furnishings, clean walls, and pleasant decor. If it weren’t for the couple of camouflaged pipes and the rushing sound of ballast tanks emptying - you could almost, almost believe that you were back in your office.
“I’ll forgive you this once,” Conrad started softly, “but do not publicly cast doubt on my plans again. This prototype, as you called it, has made over thirty dives. I’ve personally overseen the testing of every system on board, and accompanied her through trials in open water. We’ve already proved all of the city’s best anti-submarine defenses inept.” He pulled you tighter against him, his scent wrapping around you. “I have not come so far, so close, to leave anything to chance at this late hour.”
You looked up at him, still reminding yourself to breathe. “How long?”
“How long...will we be at sea, or can we stay at sea?”
You didn’t like the implication of the last option, but you had to know. “Both.”
“We will be at sea for five days, but we are well provisioned to stay at sea for three months, if needs must.”
“Three months?” How was that even possible? How could you go for three months without touching solid land? Without escaping him, without….without….
Soft lips pressed to your forehead. “There, there…just keep breathing.”
“What…what am I supposed to do? I-I’ll surely go crazy just sitting around here….”
He pulled back with a quizzical look. “Then, why would I continue to pay you?” He motioned towards the desk, and you registered the presence of a laptop. “You’ll find a remote connection to your office laptop. LOKI’s resources are at your disposal just as they ever were.”
You struggled to understand. Did he really just expect you to keep working...like it was any other day? “I don’t get it,” you looked back to him, “won’t LOKI have to take a hit or go down or something…in order for you to rise up?”
His brow furrowed. “Well, that would certainly be a waste. Especially considering that LOKI will need a new CEO in short order. My attention can only be divided so many ways.”
You froze on his words, stunned at the implications. Were you presumptuous enough to actually ask…?
He could probably see the question swirling in your eyes. Especially if the grin that teased his lips was any indication. “A new CEO who understands all the company’s workings and has set upon building a strategy of success that should only continue to flourish.”
“You can’t…fuck, you can’t be serious.”
He winked and turned around just as quick. You almost had to second-guess yourself – he had fucking winked.
His voice carried over his shoulder as he reached for the door handle. “Best of luck with today’s production strategy meeting.”
Silence descended and you wanted to scream.
What the fuck?

LMAOO I WAS GONNA BRING UP FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLIDER BUT I WASNT SURE IF YOU WERE WATCHING IT HSKAJ (are you liking it? i know it’s only the first episode but ya know, another one tomorrow night- well tomorrow night for me, and did you like wandavision?? i loved it!!)
oh my goodness i’m watching lion king while writing this and i haven’t seen it in a while and i am..... emotional. but anyway, i love that streaming services think that imma pay for them while they charge $50 a month. like yes of course i have that kind of money and i am going to give it to you to watch tv 🙄 that $50 is budgeted to sims thank you. (ALSO SIMS!!! i’ll get to that in a minute) now see if i don’t google levidia right this minute LMAOO, not that i’m gonna use it.. just for the research...
AND HDKSHS SEND THAT CHAOS WALKING LINK LMAO i saw it for the third time with a different one of my friends and she wasn’t the best one to see it with? she literally was on her fucking phone and i was like ok whatever her loss not mine, and idk if you’ve read the books or if you’ve seen it by now, but by the end of the whole movie, after they’ve confirmed THE THING throughout the whole movie she asked the dumbest question and i’m like diD YOU NOT WATCH THE MOVIE, and i guess she didn’t. so. this sounds so vague but i don’t wanna spoil the movie for you just in case lol.
THE STORY LMAOO, so A DIFFERENT FRIEND LOL, like my oldest bff, we had a day together and we wanted to go see chaos walking. and i honest to God thought that no one would be seeing this movie. like NO ONE. every day, i checked the theater seating and no one was there right? plus i really wanted us to have the theater to ourselves. so we sit in the wrong seats, the row in front of us, STILL THINKING WE’RE ALONE. and then these 3 older people came in AND IM ABOUT TO SCREAM FHSJSH AND IM LIKE “are we in your seats?” and they we were like uh yeah, AND IT WAS SO BAD LMAOO , we’re moving and everything would’ve been FINE but my friend’s reclined seat was going down so slow and as it’s going shes LITERALLY SAYING ALOUD “awkward awkward awkward” so she thinks forget it, lemme just get up. HER BAG GETS CAUGHT ON HER CHAIR AND HER FRIES AND THEY SPILL ALONG WITH HER HONEY MUSTARD 😭😭 ALL OVER THE FLOOR! so i’m trying not to laugh lmao but those aren’t even our seats and we just made a mess, so naturally, i get on the floor and start cleaning it up with my napkins (this is going for too long) AND MY FRIEND IS STILL SAYING “awkward awkward awkward awkward” and i’m really abt to crack up bECAUSE LIKE SHUT UP HAHAHA and we’re cleaning it and shit and the oldest lady is gonna say “yeah you’re not gonna make an old lady get on the floor, are you?” AND I WANTED TO LAUGH AND SCREAM AT THE SAME TIME BC DID WE ASK YOU TO, NO, so then i had to get the manager and she helped us clean it, we got new fries and everything was fine, it’s just a crazy story bc LITERALLY WE COULDVE AVOIDED IT AND EVERYTHING BUT THESE ELDERLY PEOPLE HAD TO COME AND SEE THIS MOVIE😭😭 at least the gentlemen was nice.. he helped us clean. but then his wife was like “i aM nOt siTTiNg tHeRe” and at first i thought she was a teenager bc of her stink attitude but her husband was nice. and it’s not like we weren’t cleaning it up, we were!!! like i was so apologetic- anyway.
about sims! do you play console or pc? wait,, you already told me you play pc bc your computer was broken, i’m glad you can play now though :’)) litetally when i read in the tags that you’re playing sims !!!! and are you hyped for bunk beds? i have cc so i’ve had them for a bit, but they were glitchy... but i’m so excited we have them now! i should really play sims today...
GURL IM SO PROUD OF YOU 🥺🥲 i know you aren’t fluent in everything and you aren’t a linguistic genius LMAO but it’s still soooo amazing :’) here i am reading the captions while ur just going hahah, yea i tried duolingo but.... i didn’t stick to it HDJSH talking to you though makes me so interested because you know all these languages, not even studying them like that, but you have this foundation and ahh it’s just super cool. LOL YOU DONT SOUND LAME HAJA IM TELLING YOU ITS SO SO COOL, i’m loving this lesson btw oh my goodness- HSKAJS YOU THOUGHT I WOULD ALREADY KNOW THAT??? HDYSJHS MY ONLY ENGLISH SPEAKING ASS??? HAHAHAHHAH i find that word (Rindfleischetikettie- i’m not gonna write the whole thing i’m sorry) very interesting... like... wow. did you have to google that or did you just know lmao
OKAH THE WATER THING HDKDJDKS UR GONNA TERRIFY ME HAHAH OH MY LORD- first of all CROATIA 😍😍 but thinking about it like that, I WOULD FREAK OUT TOO HAHSGSG i never go that deep into the water, or if i do i have my dad with me lol and i kind of hold onto him bc ive seen/heard too many things about people being dragged into the sea. but i loveee the water (i wanted to be a mermaid soooo bad ohmigosh)
I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW ONE CANNOT LIKE MUSIC ITS AWFUL !! lmao yeah i haven’t even listened to harry’s his first album, everyone says they love it more. I WAS GONNA SAY IMMA LISTEN TO ONLY ANGEL BUT THE WAY YOU DESCRIBE IT HUHAHAH also i have never listened to anything by mgk (i actually had to google who he was IM SORRY😔) i’m tempted to listen tho lol PLEASE JUSTIN BIEBER- I PROMISE IM NOT LAUGHING AT U IVE JUSY NEVER HAD SOMEONE SAY THAT B4!! like i don’t know many people who’ve liked him bUT NOW IM GONNA LISTEN & the cardboard cutout- okay. 😭😭😭
oh my goodness to see the vamps live 🤧 TO SEE ANYONE LIVE PLEASE JJDGSHAHGD and little mix is so good oh my goodness- i actually haven’t been to that many concerts.. i was at my first one, elsie fest (it’s like a broadway thing really) in uhhh october of 2019, yea i took my mom for her birthday bc she loves darren criss and i’m obsessed with glee lmao OH MY GOODNESS YOUVE BEEN TO SO MANY!!! and those are such great artists 😩😩
LMAO UR FINE, hamilton is a musical that lin manuel miranda wrote and i think generally made? i’m obsessed, but basically it was on broadway and then recorded and put on disney+ ... idk i guess it counts a film bc it’s like a movie really cuz it was recorded but in what 2018 or 2016? i don’t remembers the date that is on disney+ but it’s strange how i got into it, a lot of my friends were obsessed and i was like uhh why? and while researching it and watching it, trying to figure out why people love it... i fell in love with it LMAO but the music is FANTASTIC and lin is incredible😭 but yes yes yes i loveeeee high school musical!! my dad actually took my cousins to see it on ice or something (i absolutely forget lmao) but i don’t know how people don’t know hsm. it upsets me.
OKAY IM DOWN TO THE BOTTOM HAHAHA (it takes me so long to respond, now i’m on lion king 2 WHICH IS SO GOOD PLEASE FHHSSHHSHSH) i could respond in chunks but i kind of enjoy responding like this? it feels a bit like a letter but if this whole thing is overwhelming i’ll cut it up lol
+ yes that was me about your fic and sleep and everything lol but it was so good😭 i don’t understand how you write peter so well like you have this ability to capture his.. everything? i’m crine. all the time. over your fics. & i cannot describe my happiness for youuuu :’) i’m so happy you’re writing again 🥺🥰 the thing about how you only want to write the long peter fic but you don’t know how to continue... i feel that so so so hard, i don’t think i told you but ughh i was so blah bc of that feeling of having pent up inspiration for only one fucking thing and not being able to write it. it’s so frustrating 😭
not to add more to this but i need to vent a bit? the situation is definitely different bc with your major it obviously requires for you to ya know, know english lol, but uhm bc i’m homeschooled ive been cheating on all my work SHSHDHSJ like i google the answers but i’m still learning! it’s just..... i find it so unnecessary, like going for an audition no one is gonna say to me “i want you to chanel the knowledge within yourself of the centripetal force of the circle that is the table on this stage” like tf??? there’s literally no point. i’m gonna be getting into voice lessons again soon and i’m already doing dance, AND i’ll be doing this summer camp program (more hamilton lol) and thinking about school is only making me stress more, like i haven’t been able to rehearse dance at all this week bc of it...... so
hahaha reading your tags, lonely anon would still be accurate HAHAHHAHA // another add: yea i love ur current theme, i’ve gotten used to “seeing you” like this, but anything will look super pretty :)) ALSO HOW IS IT STILL SNOWING THERE, i swear it’s getting warmer and warmer by the day here 😭🤧
these long ass posts, my gosh🥲 lonely lovely anon <3
Omg yes it does feel like a letter sldkdj and then the few days of waiting also make more sense okay i love this ❣️💕❤️💓❤️💞🧡💜💘(wtf)sksjhz
Dear lovely anon,
ALSKSJVKD yes i‘m liking falcon and winter soldier dlkdh i haven‘t watched the second episode yet but i‘ll watch it tomorrow! but i didn‘t watch wandavision........ eidislskks i was going to but idk i wasn‘t that interested in it and watching series is already too much of a commitment (what can i say i‘m a Sagittarius—🤧 (no i’m joking i actually know NOTHING about starsigns)) didjj that i couldn‘t force myself to watch it, ALSO i hate (idk if this is an unpopular opinion) when every episode is like a whole hour. i‘m rewatching an old series today (it‘s german so i won‘t even get into it) and the episodes are 25 mins each and i‘ve already watched 8 episodes today ridlndjdjd,,, and i feel like if the episodes were an hour each i wouldn‘t have gotten past episode 2 today like idk.... even if series had the same length in total, i prefer when the individual episodes are shorter idk why tho tbh (so yeah i already wasn‘t 100% convinced about watching wandavision so i just couldn’t make myself watch a bunch of 1hour episodes— i‘ve heard that it‘s good tho- but i‘m not much of a series person so. Dldkk (have we talked about this already??? sorry i don‘t remember what i said lol and i couldn‘t find my own post anymore so dkdjsh) (WAIT I JUST CHECKED THE WANDAVISION EPIOSRDES ARENT EVEN THAT LONG??? Okay wait i might watch it now - did you like it? let me know if i should watch it— why did i think they were 60minutes???)
okay another confession i‘ve never watched the lion king????? i mean i watched it when i was a child but i was too young to actually pay attention to any kind of plot i just liked the songs lol sldkdj i‘ve been meaning to watch it for years tho 🦁 (idk it just felt appropriate to put a lion emoji lmoaoo)
OH MY GOD THE CHAIS WALKING/CINEMA STORY AHSJSKKS😭😭😭😭 NOOOOO (very fitting that there was so much chaos when you were watching a film that has chaos in the title loool) and the “awkward awkward awkward“ SAME SKSKSLSKDJ, that‘s literally me 24/7 ahajshshhshshsh. Like i was so skdjdjdkdllsldksnsnsnsb while i read what you sent me djslslsjdjdbdn why are old ladies always so grumpy btw 🥲🥲🥲 at least the man was nice tho! and wait did i read that right... you have fries (which, to me, are called chips dusuusldk) at your cinemas?? (Movie theatres sorry sksjsh) we just have popcorn and nachos and drinks i want chips too when i‘m watching a film what😭😭🥺🥺🥺🥺
Also i still haven’t watched it so thanks for not spoiling it!!! (idk when i’ll watch it i’m so bad with films and even worse with series💀💀💀- same with cherry. i literally forgot all about cherry, i was SO hyped when the trailer came out like i’ve never been so excited about a movie... and then it came out... and i still haven‘t watch it like what‘s wrong with me???? Dkdjdjdjdklsl i feel like i‘m not gonna watch it anytime soon tbh, but i wanna watch chaos walking i just have to find the time
Okay and @ your other friend who wasn‘t paying attention like why are you even watching the film then???? but ok (omg this sounds so mean i‘m sure she‘s very nice but in this situation just like❔❔❔)
SIMS ahhh, BUNK BEDS, ahhhh sdljdjdjdkdkdldksj i actually haven‘t played it since the update 🤧🤧 i made both of my sims (enisa (bestselling author already, thank you) and michael (aspiring doctor)) go to university and bro it takes so long 😭😭 and you can‘t do anything else if you want them to do well so literally the last three times i played sims i was just constantly clicking their homework and computerd to write their assignments (i play it in german so idk what its called on the sims) and do their presentations and do them all over again so that they get better or whatever for HOURS, but imma play again soon
also i‘m living my fanfiction life loool, so i made my two sims neighbours (on the same plot tho but i made two small separate houses lol, i still wanted to control both of them at the same time but i made sure they didn‘t interact before i wanted them to skdjdjdk). and first they both experimented and got some experience in the love department you know (all genders, cause i have to live my sexuality even in a pc game slskdjh— wait, i‘ve never lived my sexuality irl like i‘ve done NOTHING nothing with guys nothing with girls (🥲) but maybe that’s why i want to do it even more in the sims) and then they met at uni and realised like hey we‘re neighbours and now they‘re together (but michael accidentally had an alien baby with another woman (who was an alien which i was not aware of) cause i wasn‘t paying attention like i said woohoo not try for baby like michael why is your pull out game so weak tf LSHDDHDJDJSKKDKSKDKS okay but making out and flirting and doing all the fun stuff in the sims turns me on way more than it should PFAHAHHAHSH) so idk why i told you this but I’m creating that neighbour!au in the sims lmaoooo
i did not have to google Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsübertragungsaufgabengesetz (just did it again😌 sisjshhs) but i might have mixed up the words überwachung und übertragung or i might have even forgotten a word skskks but in the end it doesn‘t matter (by linkin park- ok i‘m so sorry it‘s 2 am and i have a headache from having waveformers in my hair all day but i still wanted to reply to this now so sorry if i‘m not making any sense right nowbahahshah)
i wanted to be a mermaid too dldjdksksj like h2O and all those series convinced me i could be one like. i remember i‘d always go in the deep pool and attempt to swim like them in all the series with that wave motion i must have looked so crazy with my goggles as well dkdjsksöksj (i was like twelve but still)
so mgk has two sides one is hip hop/rap which is like ~~~~ idk he has good and bad songs, but his latest album is like punk pop snd I LOVE IT SO SO SO SO SO MUCH, so if you like punk pop I’d recommend his album tickets to my downfall (i don‘t blame yoj if you don‘t like it tho like about a year ago i would have HATED that type of music dkdkdkkd)🥴
Okay talking about music, there‘s this german rapper and he is... not a good person. he‘s literally a criminal and extremely sexist but to me he‘s still hot???????? he‘s even cute at times even tho he has tattoos everywhere and is like 6‘5 and is super aggressive but i see him and i‘m like 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 my heart beats only for you💘💘💘💘and he released a new song today and i watched the video and i‘m wondering wtf is wrong with me 😃 (he did look particularly cute cause he was high so idk he wasn’t really aggressive in this one) 😭 so i thought i‘d share that LMAO IDK
(not saying tattoos aren‘t cute btw i LOVE tattoos imma get some soon, but you know he looks like someone your grandma would be afraid of (and in his case rightfully so💀)
okay wait i‘m getting so tired it‘s 2 am i think i‘ll have to do the rest tomorrow but i wanted to do it now😭🥺🥺 see you tomorrow
it is now 3:42 am and i couldn‘t sleep so here we go again
girl you can laugh at me for liking justin tho skskks i wanna laugh at myself idk, like i said i really really really liked him a few years go, basically my life was at least 50% justin and then he went on a break for a while and released an album last year which i hated 🥴 but this album is wow. (Still weird to me because it‘s literally the definition of pop and i don‘t ever listen to pop?) and it‘s so weird because i used to know so much about justin and had so many friends who loved him as well and now it‘s like I’m listening to someone new? Don‘t get me wrong i never KNEW justin and i never will and i‘m aware of that shahsh but yeah i used to be soooo used to him and it‘s like reconnecting with an old friend and you realise you don‘t know that friend anymore- like you don‘t know them anymore at all. I mean justin is weird nowadays 😂😂😂 so pls laugh at me tbh dskksjsjsh
awww it‘s so wholesome that you gave your mom tickets to the concert 🥺🥺🥺🥺 i gave my mum tickets for pink like 2 years ago and she loved it so much and i was like 🥰🥰🥰 (i went with her) AND OMG GLEE ok so unfortunately i barely remember glee, but i used to watch it too!!!! And it‘s actually on my list of series i wanna watch (again) so youre making me want to watch it even more (but like i said i‘m bad with series so 😩😩😩 who knows when i‘ll rewatch it)
When all this pandemic shit is over (let‘s be hopeful <3333) then you need to go to as many concerts as possible!!!!! i‘ve been to SO MANY and it‘s literally one of the things in my life i‘m the most grateful for, concerts are some of the best experiences i‘ve ever had in my life especially the ones that are in smaller concert halls where you can feeeel the vibe and everyone‘s energy (and that sounds awful thinking about it mid-pandemic 😐) anyway—
Okay omg you‘re absolutely making me want to watch hamilton right now like omg i WANT TO WATCH IT NOW but it‘s 4 am sodndkdldl
what you said about my peter fics🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺like omg i love these emojis they literally just describe how i felt when reading what you said so, yes, 🥰🥺 + thank you :) it really means a lot <3
and no omg i totally get the studying thing. like last year before i graduated .. was that last year? yes wtf omg okaykdjdj, so the last three months before i had my final exams we were just in a lockdown and we didn‘t even have online classes. We had nothing except one teacher who left our group chat (😭) because she was mad at us (?) and one maths teacher who did an online ““lesson““ once a week. he‘d ask: so does anyone have questions. us: . Him: okay, bye then. So. Yeah dndldldj. But we had one online test and it was in german and like i read the book wee were supposed to read? but the questions on the test were all unanswerable (is that a word?) and i had to google everything (got an A tho 🤪 but only because i googled everything so i was so scared that i wouldn‘t be able to get a good result on the final exam because what if i‘d gotten used to just googling everything and i couldn‘t do it by myself anymore? anyway it was all fine in the end but yeah at times i couldn‘t even study because i had so much anxiety about studying and yeah- like this whole annoying cycle. but you said you‘re still studying———- okay wait 👁👄👁 i forgot what i was going to say??????????????????????????????????????????????????? Like wtf. Is wrong with me? And i‘m reading what you wrote again and i just don‘t know what i was going to say? Like i get what you‘re saying obviously but i‘m like? Idk 4am brain ayeee, please vent more if you need to and elaborate further because right now i‘m???? Too dumb to respond to this right now wtf. I‘m so sorry lmao ddlkdjdjd what is even going on like i‘m sitting here open mouthed just like ? can you talk more about Iron Man 2 Natasha versus other Natashas?? I feel pure joy when I see it <3
sure <333 ill break it up into sections by movie
iron man 2: shes literally the love of my life and the reason why i even started liking natasha in general but like outside of My personal feelings i do think this is the best iteration of natasha by far. her cover story for stark industries was SO good like do u know how clever u have to be to get around tony’s systems? and imo its literally the ONLY time in the mcu where we get to see natasha being a SPY even though thats a large part of her skillset. i loved the hallway scene in the end where she got to show off and literally singlehandedly take down all those guards and i loved the moment between her and tony before his birthday party. it was honest, vulnerable but subtle enough that it makes SENSE for natasha’s character.
the avengers: hmm. probably my second favourite iteration of nat. i loved the beginning with her at her mission and then her manipulating bruce, i thought those scenes were both in character. also, ive seen ppl say that they hate that first scene where nat is being interrogated bc it makes her appear as weak when ?? i feel like it does the opposite ?? like shes literally only still tied up bc she wants to be, so that she can get more information. she is literally in control there, she was just waiting for the time to strike n had to do it sooner than later bc of clont getting compromised. anyways idk i like ta!nat i think shes fine but theres not much in terms of like. anything else other than Badass Character, u feel? also i HATED how scared she was of bruce/hulk. it left a bad taste in my mouth n i cant believe they tried a romance there after
winter soldier: maybe controversial but i hate her in this movie jrbjhabsjd or i guess hate is a strong word but i dont like her in this movie. like first of all the role shouldnt have even been hers??? it shouldve been sharon’s and it was supposed to be until they decided to replace sharon with her. her characterization in this movie is literally god-awful which imo led to her shitty characterization in endgame. she was genuinely humiliating when she tried to go undercover in this like idc how brief it is shes always ready (in dd v2 she literally wore a FULL disguise to visit matt as work when there was a lot of press so she wouldnt gain any attention for him. foggy didnt recognize her til she took off her wig) so the fact that she would put on a HOODIE ??? AND GO ??? TO A PLACE WHERE THERES CLEARLY CAMERAS ??? humiliating. the part where she was like 🥺🥺 would u trust me to save ur life ?? humiliating. natasha doesnt give a SHIT about what people think of her. frankly, all steve did up to that point was heavily judge her so she shouldnt care abt what he thinks. they obviously tried to make her a more emotional character in this but it just came off wrong lmao. i did like her last scenes though
age of ultron: ill keep this short—i dont like aou nat, i dont think it was a good representation of nat at all and i absolutely despise the brucenat romance with my entire heart. i did like her suit and fight scenes but thats it. theres not enough words to describe how misogynistic and wrong and disgusting it was for them to say natasha is a monster like bruce to make HIM feel better just bc she cant have children. 616 natasha sweetie.
civil war: the twist of her being the one to change sides was so lame i literally have to laugh like omg wowow the former spy ended up switching sides how unexpected i cant believe no one saw that coming. her being on tony’s side was the right call and the switch was stupid thats all lmao they just wanted her to stay with steve and sam after the team broke up which is literally stupid bc either way she shouldve been on her own. irritashun
infinity war: honestly not much to say she only had 6 minutes and all she did was Fight ppl so it was ur typical portrayal of nat. her eyebrows and hair were atrocious though. it shouldve been black hair as a nod to 616 nat’s tendency to dye her hair black in the old comics
endgame: oh boy where to even start. this is my least favourite iteration of nat in the entire mcu. i literally did not recognize her for a SECOND. before the movie came out, sc/rjo talked abt how we would see a pissed off nat ready to take action and i was really excited because THAT sounded like the nat i knew. but when the movie actually came, we saw her ?? moping ?? crying ?? eating a sad ass sandwich by herself ?? basically doing the emotional labour for the team because god forbid any of the men do it ??????? and the fact that they CUT OUT ALL OF HER COPING SCENES TOO LIKE THE TARGET PRACTICE, THE PUNCHING BAG??? i cant jbhjabsdhj it makes me SO fucking furious that they would make her some overly emotional character—like not to say that its a bad thing to be that, its not, but it’s also NOT natasha in any way. ive said this before but natasha’s grief almost ALWAYS manifests in the form of anger and u can explicitly see that in secret empire when she cries by herself for a minute, composes herself and gets ready to kill stevil. u can see that during hickmanvengers when its HER that realizes this is more than just taking sides, theres a bigger fight. i wanted so desperately to see a pissed-off nat and i was literally lied to. n then her ending lmao?!?!?!?! i dont even want to touch on that bc its going to get me so fucking mad jrbhavshgd abut i will talk abt it briefly: FUCK her ending FUCK the russos FUCK m&m and FUCK everyone who said this was empowering. it wasnt. she literally died for HER family, who she decided wasnt as important as clint’s blood family. thats BULLSHIT. its so stupid and the fact that she wasnt even able to reunite with everyone?? the fact that she died in the SAME DISGUSTING MANNER that gamora did???? like she didnt even make it to the FINAL BATTLE. how on earth do u treat ur first female hero (and one of the first female leads of the mcu in general) like that????? the fact that they didnt even give her a proper funeral bc they said that natasha is ~private~ like shes not some fucking loner or recluse. at the very least, we shouldve seen them mourning her properly (steve shedding one tear and bruce throwing shit around doesnt count) but they really said fuck women xo

Chapter 7 is up today! Prompt #1 First Kiss
I took a little liberty and made it post Triangle. I hope you enjoy!
Out of the Triangle
Tumblr media
Scully walked down the hall to Mulder’s hospital room, a bright orange plastic bag held in her hand, and a smile on her face.
Skinner and the Gunmen left earlier that morning, but she and Mulder were not leaving until tomorrow, though he had been cleared to be released today.
As he had been on a boat that busted into many thousands of pieces, no belongings to speak of, he was in need of clothes and toiletries, which she was currently bringing to him.
She laughed inwardly, anticipating when he saw what she had picked out for him. Licking her lips, she opened his door, setting her expression to neutral.
Finding his bed empty, she frowned as she set the bag of items down on said bed.
“Mulder?”
“Yeah?” Came a reply from the bathroom.
“You okay?”
“Uh… yeah… just a bit sore.” He walked out of the bathroom in his hospital gown, a grimace on his face. “I have so many bruises on my body. I feel like I’ve been beaten with a baseball bat.”
“Considering the state of the boat you were on, you’re lucky it’s only bruises and not broken bones. Or a broken neck,” she said with a raise of her eyebrow. “What the hell were you even doing out there Mulder?” He looked at her and she raised both eyebrows.
“I was looking for the Queen Anne.”
“Of that I’m aware. And you say that as though it’s completely normal to go looking for a ghost ship. In the Bermuda Triangle.” She shook her head and he nodded with a shrug.
“I just wanted to see if it was really there.” She scoffed and he pointed his finger at her. “You saw it too, Scully. You were even on it.”
“Yes, I was.”
“So, what’s your point?”
“My point, Mulder, is that the ship I was on-”
“Which everyone believed had been sunk by a German U-boat.”
“Right, and finding it was a big deal. But, the ship I was on was empty. Had been for a very long time.” She stared at him and crossed her arms.
“Doesn’t explain how it just showed up out of nowhere, even if it was deserted.”
“No it doesn't, that's true. Yet, you claim when you were on it, it was full of people, including me.”
“Because you were there, Scully,” he said adamantly. “I saw you. I spoke to you, touched you, and…”
“And?”
“You were there,” he finished lamely and she furrowed her brow. “Are those the clothes you got for me?”
“That was a wide subject change,” she stated as he walked cautiously toward the bed.
“I’m just ready to get out of this gown and this hospital.”
“Uh huh.”
He turned his head and looked at her. She still stood with her arms crossed and a frown on her face. She knew there was more to his answer that he was not telling her, but she let it go for now.
Picking up the bag, he started to look inside when he stopped and looked at her again.
“You can’t be serious,” he said, looking almost disgusted with the clothes.
“What do you mean?” she asked, trying not to laugh as she stepped closer to him.
“What is this?” He took the shirt from the bag and she fought back a smile.
“It’s a shirt.”
“Ha! This is not a shirt! This is a lifestyle.” He held up the button down shirt and this time she did laugh.
Knowing he needed only one outfit to get him home, she had shopped in the hotel gift shop, something that was not available in most of the places they stayed. It had a small section of every type of clothes, so she was able to get everything he needed.
The shirt she picked was light blue with pink flamingos, palm trees, hibiscus flowers, islands, and white capped waves. It had dark brown buttons, which the clerk had happily informed her were made from coconuts.
“Scully,” he sighed and set the shirt on the bed, reaching inside the bag to pull out the next item. “Scully.” He stared at her and she covered her mouth with her hand, holding back a giggle.
He held it up and she laughed again at the salmon colored Bermuda shorts with spouting blue whales.
“You cannot be serious.”
“There is a pack of undershirts and underwear in there, too.” She laughed and he shook his head.
“Scully, why in the world would you buy these clothes?”
“You needed something to wear, I don’t have a car to go driving all over, the hotel has a gift shop… problem solved.” She shrugged and smiled at him.
“And this is what you picked?” He held up the shirt and shorts against himself and looked at her. “Dana Scully, look at this outfit.”
“I think it looks good,” she said, pursing her lips and avoiding his eyes.
“You’re full of shit,” he said, setting the clothes down and staring at her.
“I am? Me? The one who came to help you after you disappeared off of a radar? Of which you told me no plans before you left? I’m full of shit?” He stared at her and she raised her eyebrows. “I think you might want to rethink your comment.”
“I couldn’t tell you.”
“Why? Because I would tell you it’s a stupid idea? And possibly dangerous?”
“That and then you would’ve inevitably come with me,” he said quietly and she frowned.
“You didn’t want me to come with you?”
“Not in the way you think,” he said with a small smile.
“Then how do you mean?” He sighed as he looked down and then raised his head.
“You were already saddled with the bill from our last… side trip, which was my fault. I didn’t want you… this was something I wanted to do and you don’t need to…”
“Save you? From your stupid ideas?” She smiled and he sighed again. “Mulder, it’s been six years, I’ve been around for a lot of stupid ideas.” He laughed softly and she nodded. “As for the reimbursement payment, you and I split that, as you know.”
“This was different. This was…” He started at her and nodded. “A stupid idea.”
“Well, it’s nice to hear you admit it,” she said with a smile.
“I’ll go get changed.” He picked up the bag and the shirt and shorts with a shake of his head. “I still can’t believe this outfit.”
“You’re going to blend in perfectly,” she teased and he shook his head again, adding a loud sigh.
He walked into the bathroom and she sat on the bed with a smile. His chart was hanging at the end of his bed and she lifted it up to see what medications they had been giving him the past two days.
Codeine and a saline IV. Then Tylenol only.
She set it back with a frown. Codeine could have attributed to his belief that there had been people on the Queen Anne, it usually made him sleepy. He had to have dreamed it all, because any other thought was simply not possible.
But why had he said he loved her? She thought it was the medication, but codeine would not make him that loopy.
“I don’t have shoes,” he called from the bathroom, cutting into her thoughts.
“Keep looking,” she called back. She heard his sigh through the door and laughed silently.
“Flip flops, Scully? Really?”
“It’s the island lifestyle, Mulder, to go with your new snazzy shirt.”
“I’m really not happy about this.”
“Join the club.” He sighed again and she laughed quietly.
The bathroom door opened and she turned her head to look at him, loud laughter immediately bubbling out of her. He stood and shook his head, his arms outstretched, showing off his outfit. She leaned forward, a hand on her chest, as she laughed.
“Is it the flip flops? Because I actually think I like them. I might wear them all the time.” He looked down at his toes and wiggled them, causing her to laugh harder.
“Oh, Mulder,” she said, trying to stop laughing. “It’s all of it. The whole outfit. I thought it would be funny and I was not wrong, but it’s so much better than I imagined.” She laughed, sticking her hand up, and closing her eyes.
“Yeah, it’s… it’s something,” he agreed as she opened her eyes and saw him smoothing the shirt down. He touched the buttons and looked at her with a smile.
“Those buttons are made from coconuts, in case that’s what you were wondering,” she said with a snort and he raised his eyebrows.
“It was exactly what I was thinking,” he said sarcastically with a shake of his head. “If you’re ready to stop laughing, I’m certainly ready to leave.” She sobered up with just an occasional chortle as they looked around, making sure he had everything.
“I can’t believe I’m wearing this,” he muttered and she stopped him from leaving the room with a hand by his chest.
“You left me with no choice when you decided to come here. It was a stupid idea, probably close to one of the dumber ones you’ve had. But if you would have told me, I would’ve been here,” she said seriously, holding his gaze and he nodded.
“I know.”
“But, then I suppose if you hadn’t come here, you might not have met the other me, the me from 1939, traveling with Thor’s hammer,” she teased. “Question about that: how did she hold it? No mortal is supposed to be able to lift it.” She tried to keep a straight face, but as realization of what she said dawned on him, he smiled slowly and it brought about her own.
“It wasn’t Mjölnir, if that’s what you’re implying. She wasn’t walking around with the most fearsome and powerful weapon ever in existence, one that could level mountains,” he said with a grin and she shrugged with a smile. “Although, on some level I suppose she was, as he was a scientist who could control the outcome of the war. But that you even thought about that Thor… Scully...” He shook his head and sighed deeply, his eyes travelling her face.
“Hmm…” she hummed. “So she was traveling with an undercover scientist, to protect him. Sounds like he was smart to have that protection in place, you never know when you might need it. You should have made friends with her, maybe she could have helped you.”
“Ha!” he laughed, shaking his head.
“That’s funny to you?”
“Scully. I told you, you… her… whoever, the outcome of history was saved because of you/her,” he said, staring at her. “I might not ever have seen you again, if you hadn’t listened to me and gone back to the past… for the future.”
“Do you hear yourself? I mean, really yourself?” she asked, and he exhaled a laugh.
“She shared that trait with you; doubting me, thinking I was crazy, and yet I was right,” She stared at him, her eyebrows raised as she shook her head, and he laughed again. “Same expression too.”
“I would’ve liked to have seen that. How you handled two of us.” His eyes grew wide and he cleared his throat loudly. “Oh… that’s an interesting reaction.” She smiled and he took a step back.
“You ready to go?”
“No. Not until you explain that throat clearing business.”
“Just needed to do it.”
“Now who’s full of shit?” she asked, and he sighed, looking at the floor. “Mulder?”
He looked up and she raised her eyebrows again, as she watched him rub the left side of his face with a wince. Sighing, he dropped his hand and she saw a faint bruise on his cheek.
“I know it wasn’t you, but she looked exactly like you. Well, a bit more…” he said, gesturing everywhere.
“She was dressed in a red satin gown, hair done up, a fancy necklace,” he explained, not meeting her eyes.
“Fancy Scully, huh?” she teased, and he looked at her; her eyes and down to her lips, making her throat go dry. “So she believed you, enough to go back to the past, to save the future? How did you convince her?”
“I can be very convincing,” he said quietly.
“Yes, I know,” she replied.
“I wasn’t sure she would even do it before I jumped overboard, but she did, just as you would have done.”
“Is that how you got that particular bruise? Jumping overboard?” she asked, nodding to his face.
“Uh, not exactly,” he laughed and she stared, waiting for him to explain. He sighed and she tilted her head to the side. “I… I didn’t think things would be fixed. I didn’t know if I’d ever see you again. The butterfly effect and all that… and so…”
“So what, Mulder?” she asked softly. He looked at her and she already knew, but wanted to hear him say it.
“I kissed you… her,” he nearly whispered, and her heart pounded. “And then she punched me in the face. A mean right hook.”
“Well, that should have cleared it up right then. If a strange rambling man kissed me, I’d have gone with a left,” she laughed.
“Exactly what I told her,” he said with a nervous chuckle, staring at her as though gauging her reaction.
“Why?”
“Why… why did I kiss her?”
“Yeah.”
He inhaled and shook his head. “I… do I really need a reason? She was you, sort of, and I thought I might never see you again. I… do you really need to hear a reason, Scully?” He stared at her, his eyes soft, reminding her of a moment in his hallway not so long ago.
“No, I don’t,” she whispered, stepping closer to him. “So, the past me kept the future intact in order for us to be here in the present. What will we do with that knowledge?”
He slowly reached his hand out, placing it on her cheek, and she laid her hands gently on his chest. She smiled slightly as he leaned forward, the memory of the moment in his hallway once again burning in her mind, and she closed her eyes.
His lips landed on hers and she sighed as she pressed further into him, gripping his shirt tightly in her hands. He kissed her softly, keeping it chaste, a sweet tentative step forward, but she felt it throughout her entire body.
When he pulled back, he smiled shyly at her and she grinned, keeping a hold of his shirt.
“See? Aren’t I better than some dream version? I didn’t punch you for one, and it happened despite your stupid idea to come here and most definitely despite this outfit,” she whispered with a smile and he laughed. She tugged at his shirt and kissed him one more time. “Let’s get outta here.” He nodded and she stepped back, letting go of his shirt.
He now held the bright orange plastic bag as they walked out the door and down the hallway, his flip flops flopping loudly, much to his embarrassment and her amusement.
“Nice shirt, man,” a male nurse said as he walked past them and Mulder looked at Scully as he shook his head.
“It’s not a terrible shirt, admit it,” she said, pushing the elevators down button, and bumping him with her arm.
“It’s not terrible,” he agreed, as he looked at it and then at her. “And it’s been a good shirt so far.” She grinned and he winked. “Oh, wait. It’s missing a button, look. Do you have the receipt? We could return it.” He looked at her and she shook her head.
The elevator doors opened and they stepped inside.
“No. But, I do have the missing button. It must have come off when I…”
“Had a death grip on it?” he teased.
“I can sew it back on for you,” she said, holding it out to him. He looked at it and then felt where it was missing on his shirt, shaking his head.
“No, you should keep it. I like the shirt better this way,” he said with a happy grin.
She smiled back at him as the elevator doors closed, ready to take them away from the hospital and onto the next stupid adventure.
Together this time.

Jaune Doe: Pt 1
It was phoned in as a noise complaint, not unheard of in a busy city like Argus, but still a cruiser with a pair of officers was sent out to have a look if for no other reason than someone's peace of mind. Lie Ren and his partner, Nora Valkyrie, drew the short straw and were dispatched just before midnight.
It's a Sunday night and schools were in, so most of the neighborhoods were quiet and functionally traffic free at this hour, but Ren still drives like it's rush hour: both hands on the wheel and both eyes on the road with his back straight as a board. His partner, on the other hand, slouches a little with an elbow propped on the door to brace her jaw. She consciously resists the urge to prop her feet on the dash board, knowing Ren doesn't like it and not being in the mood for his trademark gentle lectures.
"So what do you think it is?" Nora asks, anything to break up the dull roar of the engine.
"The caller said it sounded like broken glass, but there was a lot of noise just after it. Might be a jumper."
"God, I hope not. I don't need that right now." Nora visibly cringes. "But they didn't see anything?"
Ren shakes his head, flipping the signal before turning through a quiet intersection. "They were out on their fire escape when it happened, said it sounded like a couple buildings down from them."
Nora shifts in her seat, sitting a little straighter but still looking uncomfortable when she settles. "I really hope it's not a jumper."
"I'll take point when we get there." that way, if it is, he'll see it first and she won't have to see it at all.
(--)
The fall was jarring, painful, worsening the state of his threadbare consciousness that makes him teeter on his bare, bloody feet that much more. There's glass in his hair, his hands, his heels, and he absently wipes at his chest in a reflexive attempt to tidy up. He blinks furiously, hands haphazardly rising in front of him as if to ward off obstacles that he can't possibly see. Everything is broken, blended, like the world is made of spiderwebs being simultaneously squashed together and pulled apart. His stomach lurches and he hits his knees, another shock of pain that does nothing to ground him.
He crawls then, still no thought towards his direction or destination, on that it's less painful this way. The dead heat in his throbbing brain keeps him unsteady, his shoulders and hips swaying like a lame animal's would. He tips against a wall of brick, jolting and whimpering at the awful, abrasive and unforgiving masonry. He's panting so hard, broken ribs struggling to contain his lungs and his speeding heart. But no amount of air is enough to quell the desperate clawing in his guts, the feeling like he's dying.
Somehow he pulls himself up, forgets that he even did it as those dragging seconds blink to the moment he realizes he's upright again. He's wiping at his front again, pushing off the buildings sharp corner and hobbling out of the shadowy alley and towards the curb. Just before stumbling into the street, headlights flash against him, seeming to carry its own sort of invisible force as he simply drop to the pavement. It was just too much, he couldn't take any more. When the singular bright light is joined by flashing red and blue ones, his arms flop across his eyes, but it isn't fast enough to stop him from throwing up.
The driver door on the police cruiser swings open, voices of a harried back and forth coming from the opening before the officer does. Ren puts his partner to task radioing dispatch before rounding the door to approach what looks like a man lying in the street. He had seen streaks of blood in the headlights, but he would have stopped regardless after seeing him collapse. For safety's sake he's pulling on latex gloves before kneeling down.
"Sir?" Ren tries, shying a little as the man lurches with a wet groan. "Sir, can you hear me?"
Maybe. Maybe not. Right now all he can focus on is the need to lay on his stomach. The asphalt is cool and he wants the chill in his skull.
"Sir, I'm officer Lie Ren of the Argus Police Department," he doesn't try to move him, much less touch him just yet, "can you tell me your name?"
Nope. That's burned right out of his head.
"Sir, I can see you're banged up pretty badly, my partner is calling for an ambulance, okay?"
The man flops on his back with another pained groan, eyes tight against the still too bright lights. Now Ren can see the glass and the blood on his face and the almost unnatural amount of sweat pouring over his skin. With a gentle hand keeping him still, Ren pulls the penlight from his breast pocket. "Sir, I need you to open your eyes for me. Just for a second."
He shakes against the command he barely understands. Something primitive in him knows eyes plus lights equals bad. Then there's one frantic burst of confusion as something touches his face, easing the lids apart and exposing him to a horrific instant of brightness that makes him shout out loud.
"I'm sorry, sir," Ren immediately removes his hand from the man's face, put keeps the one on his shoulder in place to stop him from thrashing. His now free hand touches the radio at his own shoulder. "Nora, please expedite those responders, his pupils are blown." Overdose, maybe. Is he our jumper? How did he make it out here like this? If it's drugs...what is he on? "Just take it easy, sir, help is coming."
(II)
Pyrrha Nikos scowls as she walks through the halls of the hospital, her scroll pressed between her cheek and shoulder so she can open the lounge door without missing a word from the other end of the line. Still listening she sets down her briefcase on one of the empty tables, her brow only seeming to tighten as she makes way for the communal refrigerator.
"You do remember what joint custody means, right?" her voice is both stern but hauntingly soft. "Do we need to go back to court?"
"Come on, Pyrrha, think about what that would do to Diana." shrugs a man's voice from the other end.
"If that's what you're worried about, maybe ask her what being kept away from me is doing. I get her on the weekends, judge's orders, and this will be the fifth weekend in a row you've kept her."
"What do you want me to say?"
"That's you'll stop this nonsense and adhere to the agreement."
"The judge wouldn't hear it the last time you filed a complaint, doubt that'll change."
Pyrrha's nostrils flare as she tries to tame herself. "Don't make me push any harder than I am already. This doesn't have to get ugly."
"That sounds an awful lot like a threat, Pyrrha. Be careful, or I'll have to tell the judge you're harassing me." The tone toes the line between smug and feigned concern.
"Cardin," she bites.
"Fine. You can pick her up tonight before I leave for work. If you're late she's going to my moms, and you can sort it out with her if you want."
Pyrrha exhales. "Thank you. I'll see you later." Then she frowns when there's nothing but a click from the other end. She'll buzz her lips, trying to push it down in the same way she pushes her scroll into her pocket.
"Piece of work, that one."
Pyrrha jumps, air hissing between her teeth in surprise. "Gods, Billy, I didn't see you."
The hulking, silver haired faunus chuckles as they lounge back in their chair. "Sorry to startle you."
Pyrrha laughs at herself a little as she tries to get back to what she was doing, which was making herself a cup of tea. "Are you usually here this early?"
"Had a special admission last night, had to stay late." They reach up to stretch, yawning. "I'm just waiting for Starborough's night report before I go home."
"Oh yeah? That bad, huh?"
"Bad enough to need both of us." they nod. Billy is head of security at Argus' Northwest Municipal Hospital and has been for more than a decade. "In fact, after I go over said report, it's going into the case file that will eventually be on your desk."
"Oh, you shouldn't have." Pyrrha grins, finding the tea bags and setting them out on the counter next to the water heater. "Can you give me anything right now? Kind of brief me?"
"I don't have much, but," they shift in their seat, propping one elbow on the table. "Your buddy cops brought in a guy, early to mid twenties, kinda noodly, no shoes, no shirt, no service; poor kid was strung out of his mind."
With her back to them, Pyrrha winces to herself.
"He was real dazed when he first got in, cooperative because he didn't know any better, I guess. Cut and bruised all to hell. But he got real mean when they tried to put an IV in him."
"Understandable, I mean," she turns, waiting for her water to heat up, "I hate needles too."
"Not like this you don't. It took me and Starborough and your buddy cops to keep him still enough for the coats to hook him up. Damn near climbed Starborough to get out of that bed."
"Gods have mercy." Pyrrha's eyes are wide and disbelieving. Sahv Starborough, a tusked faunus, was comparable in size to Billy, maybe wider in the middle but no less built. The two of them had nicknames: twin peaks, push and pull, double trouble, and that's just the one's that Pyrrha knows about. The idea that anyone could almost overpower either of them just seems ridiculous.
"But you know Sahv took it in stride, it's because of all the time she spends working with the little ones an the old folks." then Billy chuckles again. "But this guy literally had a hold of one tusk, and she's keeping it together enough to use her soft voice, you know?"
Pyrrha just nods, smiling, able to hear it in her head. Sir, I know you're upset, and that's okay, but I need you to let go of my face, please. She shakes her head, turning back to the water heater when it chimes. "I'm assuming, since you're here, that he eventually calmed down?"
"Not when I last checked, no." all the humor is gone from their voice now. "They had to strap him down so he didn't hurt himself, and they can't give him anything to mellow him out until they find out what's up with his blood work."
Pyrrha is quiet for a moment, dipping her teabag in the foam cup she pulled from the cabinet. Then she sighs. "Poor guy."
"Yeah. But maybe he dozed off on his own...it's been quiet down there for a couple hours."
"Here's hoping." She leaves the bag at the bottom of the cup to steep, then moves to retrieve her briefcase from the table. "You'll drop the file off when it's ready?"
"Sure." one curt nod followed by another yawn.
"And will you stay long enough to show me pictures of that beautiful baby of yours?"
Billy just blushes and grins, all teeth. "Yeah, sure. See you then, Nikos."
**********
threw this together in a couple hours, and in the meantime Wild Hunt is just sitting there mocking me. Probably will do more, just don’t expect a schedule.
